  1. Howard exits with a 108 era and 15 whip. Man, if only he could have kept his era in double digits...
  2. They may be hoping he will be humiliated into retirement. I feel for the guy, though.
  3. Spencer Howard comes in and immediately gets blasted. Shocked and stunned...

It would be nice if there were some place locally where I could actually try one on the water, or even just sit in one parked somewhere, to get a better idea. Aside from the physical requirements, I'm not sure I would embrace fishing from that near water level.

Thanks, may consider it down the road if you decide you want to part with it. But I keep going back and forth as to whether I feel I could really meld with a kayak. I have doubts. I really wish I could find a clean used Tracker-ish bass boat for a decent price. I think that's what I need.
  6. I really only discovered the Plimsouls and The Nerves in the last decade. And I didn't even know the same dude was leading both bands until a few weeks ago when Case appeared on the Otis Gibbs Youtube channel. I didn't know who he was at all until the second video he did with him. So his solo stuff is totally new to me. But I dig those early bands a lot and have had stuff of theirs in my random automobile tunes rotation. I would definitely like to check out the doc, but prefer to see it for free, because I'm a cheap bastard and not particularly fond of streaming services.
  7. If you have one with a neck pickup and one with a bridge pickup it gives you an excuse to have more guitars.
  8. They're about the size of a chicken leg drumette but that's mostly feathers. So probably a few hundred.
  9. I personally wouldn't do it, but I figured there were a few out there that would perk up. I saw one poster in the slickdeals thread he saw a video where somebody too the pickguard off one and it was routed for a neck pickup, so basically like a stock modern Tele. I don't think that's necessarily bad, but it takes away a bit from the mythos. I haven't read the specs, but it may have a more authentic repro neck shape and pickup, stuff like that, to reproduce the sound and feel. But yeah, I would just go for a regular Tele. For some folks it might just scratch the itch.

I look at craigslist once in a while, but the selection and asking prices in this area is crap. I think it works better near larger cities.

Still been looking around at kayaks, a lot of which are on sale now. I just don't see the other options as being that do-able at this point, so maybe if I get a fairly cheap one it won't be that much of a loss. Academy has a Pelican Challenger 100XP for bout tree-fiddy right now. The seat in it actually looks pretty sturdy. There are a few others within a similar range, about the most I would want to spend to find out it ain't gonna work. But now it's getting too dang hot to fish.
  13. Can't say I'm shocked to see the news. Wasted a shitload of funds they ain't gettin' back.
  14. I was just thinking, I believe the Rangers have been in first place in the division since they won their first game this season. Not sure, but that's pretty incredible if true.
  15. I really thought Hernandez had something a couple of years ago before they started slobbing LePew's knob thinking he was the real deal. I think it messed with his head a bit. They both need to be sent down with some attempt to fix them.
  16. Rangers have been starting to cash in on some ass whippin's they owed Seattle. May it continue.
  17. I went black-capped vireo hunting last week. Their population has been booming over the last several years and no longer considered endangered.
  18. Funny how I find more bucks while out birding than I ever did when I was hunting in my younger days.
  19. His 2 and 3 hour videos have been killing me. I'll watch most anything he does, but if it's that long I really need to be into that interviewee. Break them down into smaller sections and I'm in, but I'm waaaaaaay behind on his channel lately.

Those plastic john boats they have at Academy and Tractor Supply look halfway tempting, but not as portable. Would need a trailer for it, so might as well get a real boat. Ideally, I would much rather have a good used aluminum bass boat, but they aren't easy to find in these parts. I have sort of a phobia about the old school aluminum john boats because the last time I was in one it tipped over right after I shoved off. Thing was incredibly unstable, maybe there was something wrong with it, or I was just too much of a fat fuck at the time.
  21. One appearance, one win per appearance for Anderson. I'll take that. Kid looked great.
  22. I'm concerned about Martin being back at regularass Martin again. He's had some good outings and decent amount of wins, but his BAA is over .300 and WHIP is high, giving up way too many hits. Even his April stats are deceiving, while having a 2.41 ERA, his BAA was .286 and WHIP .140. It's obviously worse now, but it seems he was fortunate to have that early record.
  23. Barlow on IL with an illness, not good for the bullpen.

I've been looking at kayaks to get my ass back on the water, because bank fishing at the lake kinda sucks. But I don't want to spend much because I have serious doubts about how my body will take to it. I know I would need one that sits up among the highest available, for my back and knees. Easy to haul in a truck bed would be ideal, a 10-footer range would be nice. My old Bass Hunter one-man thing would probably work better for me, but it's been sitting outside for about 35 years so it's probably not too lake-worthy by now. It would probably crumble. They were sure fun in the short time I had access to a nice pond, though.
