  1. When Mariko was addressing Ichido and Ochiba surrounded by all the lords I told my wife there's only one badass in that room. Such fantastic acting and writing.
  2. Back to ERCOT for a moment. Here's an article about the Southern Spirit transmission line that would connect Texas to the SE. Who’s afraid of a 300-mile transmission line that could help decarbonize the Southeast? Louisiana lawmakers and local utilities. https://grist.org/energy/southern-spirit-transmission-line-louisiana-mississippi-texas/
  3. Of course you would. He's a Manning.
  4. Yep. I'm waiting on a guy to give me a quote for new attic insulation today. First guy quoted me 1400 for a 1700ish sqft house. Seems ok. Plus I'll get to claim 30% on my taxes.
  5. Same. We have about a 1/3 acre lot and are focusing on adding beds around the borders full of natives while keeping the some of the center back yard grass for the kids. Started last year DIY and if we can get to 50/50 on our lot in a few years I'll be ecstatic. Building beds, ripping up grass is a fucking workout. Plus one thing I've learned is that being out in your yard and seeing birds, bees and hummingbirds is good for my soul.
  6. ERCOT expects they need to add 62 GW of energy by 2030
  7. Any of you fellas have to use Barkeepers Friend on your ride. https://www.cybertruckownersclub.com/forum/threads/bar-keepers-friend-changed-my-cybertrucks-finish.14184/ My Cybertruck was delivered with quite a bit of staining on a lot of the panels. It’s looked to be from rain. I tried a bunch of softer cleaners first to get off the stains. Windex, waterless wash, full soap wash, generic stainless polish, etc. None of that worked. So I tried some bar keepers friend that many other suggested. I tried it on a small area, and it looked fine. I then tried a door with lots of staining. I let it sit for one minute and then rinsed it off. The first time I applied very lightly and it dulled the stains, but didn’t remove them. The second time I scrubbed just a little more and it completely removed all the stains and created a perfectly uniform panel. However, The door is now lighter in color and the finish is a bit more dull / less shiny. I don’t love this effect, but it appears I’m going to have to live with it since I already started. I followed the directions, didn’t let it sit too long and didn’t scrub hard. To help others to do this well and decide if this is for them, I would love some advice or feedback from others if they saw this, or if I did something wrong. Pic: BKF used on rear door only Important Edit: after finishing the whole truck, I noticed that the front panel in the picture below still doesn’t match the panel in the rear. I am thinking bar keepers friend didn’t change the panel as much as I thought. When both panels were done the same way they still look different. So if my post scared you away, don’t worry too much. The truck looks amazing with all panels done and I do prefer it better now. Last edited: Apr
  8. Tesla is going the way of the Delorean. Fucking thing doesn't even have a flux capacitor
  9. This is correct. Start at the tap and work backwards. Incentivize people to remove grass lawns or much of them. I still want places in my yard where my kids can run and play too. Plant drought tolerant hybrids or natives. You shouldn't have to water more than 2x a week, even in summer to keep something alive that wants to die. Running your sprinklers during the day - straight to jail. Watering your driveway or the street- jail. There needs to be rebates and incentives on a statewide scale to help people with these things. Replacing lawns, smart sprinklers, gutter, water collection and grey water systems. That's the carrot. If that doesnt work use the stick and issue fines. The plan should be to try to use every drop of water twice. I saw a video about a company that makes a system that takes your shower water, filters it just enough and then makes it available for your toilet flushing. From there it's sent to the sewer or septic. But they claimed just by doing that you would save close to 40% of your water usage. I hate being worried about the grid but I'm much more worried long-term about our water situation. We need to invest heavily in wastewater recycling and aquifer recharge. I know some Texans like to bang on CA. In 2023 when they got all of the rain that filled up their reservoirs and they had to release it down stream and eventually to the Pacific people were incredulous that they were wasting it. The truth is they have set up passive recharge zones where they're able to flood fields and allow that water to soak in. Probably not enough but some. They also have active recharge. Where it's pumped underground. Some, not enough. I'm not sure if we have those same types of practices. I couldn't find much info. If we don't, we should. Hundreds of them. All over the state. We have to plant the water before it evaporates or meets the Gulf. The sooner everyone realizes we need to start behaving like El Paso or Phoenix the better off we'll be. But we're Texas so you know...
  10. There was in interurban that ran right from Dallas to Waco. Must've been nice.
  11. He's the HC there until the season is over. Then all 3 Sanders and Hunter are gone.
  12. You can see the disappointment on his face. He's trying to hold it together. Fuckin muppet.
  13. Texas should just declare that it's mission is to have the lowest cost, cleanest, and most reliable electricity on the planet. Build the crap out of the grid - transmission and distribution. Stop pitting fossil fuels against renewables and nuclear against everyone. Just build everything, winterize everything. Make it the #1 destination for any data center, industrial or manufacturing facility, green hydrogen and chemicals production, DAC, CO2 sequestration, sustainable aviation fuel production, etc. It would not cost that much relative to the massive economic benefits and payback we could get here.
  14. Don't fuck around. He's a take. He raises the floor.
  15. Grey Gardens. It's something else.
  16. Toranaga is keeping her in the pen until he needs her the most. Then
  17. Never worked with me. Didn't get it as thin as I wanted but that could be my particular press.
  18. I've pretty much given up on mine. The taste is good to pretty good most of the time but I can't get the thickness or texture that I like. I've tried them on the counter and Blackstone but no luck. I guess I'll have to try a different rolling pin. It's the same with sourdough. The taste is great. The presentation leaves a lot to be desired.
  19. Id guess/hope that he gets some innings in August maybe.
  20. When you get a chance to DC draino to sign off on legislation. You've just gotta do it
  21. Call Boebert to the stand.
