  1. May have to stop by this weekend.
  2. I think people are over-interpreting these sentences from the Houston Food Finder article: "Six months down the road, we'll start to transition to more of a Buck's Barbeque-branded operation and menu, ..." "And 10 to 12 months down the road, the Farley Girls name will go away completely, and it will be Buck's Barbeque, all the time." I've been a couple of times since you bought it. Looking forward for dinner service and bbq being introduced.
  3. Almost got that on Sunday. Opted for the cornbread waffle instead. Probably not a wrong decision either way.
  4. City council is flying it upside down as a sign of distress.
  5. Tyler Childers and Robert Earl Keen at the 1894 Grand Opera House in Galveston on 7.5.19.
  6. I went out this morning and it’s still pretty fresh. That doesn’t, however, deter the jackasses. There are some dumb mofos running boats in WGB. Best fish was 4# on a bone diamond Assassin.
  7. Revival Market has some 44 Farms stuff for sale to the public, though.
  8. Clearly a cuck: https://www.instagram.com/influencerhusband/?hl=en
  9. She took off her socks and shoes to dry out. Then they were washed away in a flash flood. This happened after she took a nap on a log.
  10. I don't think I have the ability to load chips during a cook with the Kamado Joe. But I'll try your method with the small log next time I fire it up.
  11. I noticed this, too. I was thinking of putting a drip pan with some liquid (smoke) on the deflector plate to prevent on future smokes. Or just smoke at a lower temp.
  12. I appropriated by neighbor's Kamado Joe because he never used it. The cook went great for the most part. I did two beer can chickens and a pork butt. Got a great bark on the pork. But, there was a distinct lack of smoke flavor. I used B&B lump and 4-6 chunks of pecan. Any advice on how to get a more distinct smoke flavor?
  13. Kosher salt (1/2 c), coarse ground black pepper (1 c), and turbinado sugar (1/2 c). Rub with mustard first.
  14. If you're willing to driver over to Corpus, there are some places you can walk in along Laguna Shores and by the Naval Station.
  15. I really like the Ian Noe stuff I've heard. Stumbled across him about a month ago. If any of you Austin guys are looking for something to do the night of May 22, go check out Tylor and the Train Robbers at Saxon Pub.
  16. I just came to say fuck airboats as well. Last summer some buddies took a video of an airboat burning them in a back lake on St. Joe, posted it on Facebook and set off a shit storm. Good times.
  17. Team Lews Lite and the Chronarch G have been my go-to reels lately. Occasionally I will break out one of my 50Mgs. For rods, I alternate between my Loomis Conquest (782C MBR) and Waterloo Carbon Mag.
  18. Have you (1) had it cleaned or (2) tried replacing bearings if cleaning did not work? I never had a Core because all of my buddies had issues with them. Just kept on using my 50Mgs. I got a Chronarch G 10-12 months ago. It's a nice reel.
  19. I don’t recall. But I could see that being the case. Otherwise you would be working against the computer.
  20. Those DCs are sweet. I fished with a guide on the Shimano prostaff and he had a Metanium DC on his boat and let me chunk it a few times. Amazing. I was around the Pass. Not a place I would recommend those not familiar with the area venturing. Not only are you apt to get stuck on a sand flat, but it can be a dangerous place to wade.
  21. Was that a custom on a Loomis blank or an off-the-rack rod? Loomis doesn't sell blanks to the public anymore, so I'm not sure how they would handle it. If was off-the-rack, I bet they do something to work with you. If you're game for trying another Loomis product, check out the Conquest; it's a bad bitch.
