Dan Beebe was pretty fucking terrible. This guy is just not hiding his hatred for us.  Beebe just hid it.

Didn’t aggy accuse Beebe of being a UT tool?    I guess had aggy been in the Rig 12 right now, they’d accuse Yormark of being a UT tool, so that probably answers the question.    lol.

  2. That was glorious yesterday and being there in person was even more of a treat.    I’ve been to many gyms, arenas, and stadiums in my life and that was the most gratifying moment of displeasure I’ve ever seen.

That delay of game call on Texas just before the half was idiotic.  OSU slow in substituting and ref pulled his hand of the ball with 1 second on the play clock and he was still right next to the DT with zero on the play clock.  Gamesmanship by Gundy, no problem. Refs gotta be smarter than to call that on Texas.  Literally a fraction of a second to snap the ball with a ref still right in the middle of the DL.  Stupid call

It’s a trend I’ve seen in other games.   Anytime the defense does a last second sub, they need to add five seconds to the play clock.    Problem solved.

At the time, didn’t the announcer (Joel Klatt?) say that the way they called it, review really couldn’t fix it? And the review result (Bama keeping the ball but punting) was kind of bogus but the best they could do in review to unfuck it?

I didn’t understand that explanation either.   Especially since the same conference Refs at one time penalized us via a review for a spot or something  a few years ago.   Maybe I’ve missed it, but I haven’t seen or heard a team since then getting flagged in such a fashion.

Only two more days until we say adios to these corrupt clowns.

He doesn’t hate Texas. He just really, really doesn’t want to be seen as a “homer”. He desires that his press box fellow journalists view him as an impartial writer. To support that, he is extra critical of Texas, the hometown team.

It’s too bad that he is a mediocre enough writer that his press box mates assume he is a homer anyway, and assume he is telling the truth when he speaks the worst about Texas and Longhorn players.

Good grief.    He can be half as impartial and still have credibility with his pack of fellow journalists.      If you want to take a look at a real talking point regenerator disguised as newspaper journalist,  Brent Zwimerman who writes for the Houston Chronicle is that type. He just runs with whatever Bjork and the AD Dept or Billy at TexAgs feeds him.

If we are going to schedule those teams they ONLY come to Austin. It's that simple. No home/home.

OOC games unless vs a big time opponent like Michigan, Ohio, etc should be home/home but other OOC games should only be played at DKR. It's that simple. We shouldn't travel to UTEP for instance..

    For football, yes 100%

For sure in Baseball. Probably Men's Basketball as well.

Same for the ladies side for Softball, Volleyball, and Basketball.     All the sports have other options in the state, but for the sake of building up the strength of schedule and seedings, playing a Baylor or TCU as much as we don't want to play a Rig 12 school is much better than a Sam Houston for example.

the same can be said for Texas and the Beard situation.  Evidently the driving force behind this conundrum that really isn't one.

We will probably get them every once in a while in one of those Big 12 vs SEC early season tournaments as well as be matched up in the Regionals.

I don't see any need to have a series with them though. Lubbock is a long trip for one of those Tuesday Night games as well.

Wouldn't doubt Baylor, TCU or Cougar High shows up in our schedules way down the road  for a series or a one gamer due the fact it would be shorter road trip if we need to fill an out of town game.

don't underestimate penalties like hands to the face in the endzone instead of a hold and safety.

i still cannot believe that was a thing that happened.

the thing is, the big xii has been fixing games for years and years and years. they've gotten pretty good at it, even calling garbage time holding against outmatched opponents so there isn't a big 0 next to holding penalties

The last part of your post was very evident the last two games, especially last week when finally an opposing team got called for holding.   The fact that one penalty almost never got called on an opponent  this season going up against a top defensive line is mind boggling.  I guess it would be if one really didn’t know what was going on.

Again, no. If Michigan loses, it only makes Ohio State look worse. If Michigan loses that only helps us if we win.

Doesn’t matter.  The committee will decide the Big10 deserves a spot in the top four.     Kind of like all these years they stuck Norte Dame in there.    It didn’t matter they played a shit schedule, they were Norte Dame and the Big 10 schools like OSU and Michigan are treated the same.

I looked at the bios of the members of this committee.   There isn’t one member on there who looks like they would be an ally for Texas when push comes to shove .   It’s skewed with members who have been involved either through their own education or careers in PAC 12, ACC and Big 10 country, particularly Ohio.     Biases matter.

Counterpoint to the "Texas was lucky they got Bama early" argument:

For years we have heard about what a meat grinder the SEC schedule is, how every game is a war, that they need to play a powder puff late in the season to recover from the rigors of the 8- game gauntlet, yada yada.

It's lucky for Bama that they played us early in the year while they were still fresh and before all the SEC games took their toll.

Bama need a hail mary like miracle to beat a team that got humiliated a week before by aggy....   New Mexico State version.

I agree the meatgrinder thing is tired and old.   A few years ago it might have been true when Florida, LSU, Bama and UGA were always top four and one of the mid tiers like Auburn, MSU and Ole Miss would have a good team and make it interesting.   But it's almost always been about where the SEC teams were placed in the media polls and the fact they'd get eight or nine teams in the pre season polls and let them fight it out, it took on the illusion of a meatgrinder.   Then you get them in bowl game and they get exposed like we did UGA in 2018 Sugar Bowl...   Oh they didn't want to be there was the excuse, but regardless based on the conference hype they should've crushed us.

It's the same damn thing with the Big 10 with Michigan and Ohio State.   And Norte Dame.
