He made some strides after a bad start but this guy ultimately won't lead us where we want to go. When the defense finally settled in, his offense didn't go jack shit. I get there were drops outside his control but he's not someone who is going to elevate his team. Who knows if that can change. 2 games against really good teams this year, both on the road, both very meh overall.
This is why Sark = Jason Garrett. No matter who the players are, the scheme stays exactly the same. Doesn't adapt to the strengths of the current players. This offense isn't the same as the last 2 years under Quinn. Arch and Quinn are different styles, yet our offense is exactly the same. Hell even under Quinn, he was having him do things that weren't his strengths. Sark has one single offensive model and any incoming players will have to play in it with no adjustments being made.
You need to realize, fans take these losses harder than the players. I see this same discussion in all sports. Especially now that these players are getting paid a hefty sum to play (they always have been, just now legal). Money makes you get over losses much quicker.
I agree but Saban is a legend. He owned pretty much every coach in his tenure. Kirby is a really good coach but nowhere near Saban. Marcus Freeman at ND had zero issues against the same Georgia team that embarrassed Sark last year. ND dominated Georgia in the playoffs. While Sark and company tried their hardest to blow the Arizona State game.
Another knock on Sark. He turtles when it matters way too often and has a hard time putting teams away. Just like Tom 'Turtle' Herman.
aggy knows how to move Reed around. Their WRs have speed and can make people miss in the open field. Not a good recipe for this secondary.
Once Vandy figured out Texas' defense, it was like a knife through butter. They almost had a aggy/SC comeback (24pts vs 27) in one single quarter. Texas is lucky that onside kick wasn't recovered or Vandy easily scores to win and that season would have been over then and tonight's game wouldn't mean anything for Texas in terms of playoff aspirations.
