Most of the people shitting their britches about the Taaffe targeting call are dipshits who didn't watch the entire game or just need Texas to be the villain.
The officials working this game rat-fucked us at almost every turn. This game is over at the half if they call even half of the egregious/blatant offensive holding calls on ASU they should/could have. They had illegal men downfield, DPI and slew of bullshit that could either be categorized as "letting them play" or ratfucking Texas to keep the game close...
Weird play-calling and turtling kept it closer than it needed to be...
Calling this "the worst blown call in history" is senseless, a weak media ploy, and just another way to say "Please look over here. We need more viewers and ad dollars and the algorithm says controversy is the hottest ticket to more viewers and engagement."
If your analysis begins with "I hate fucking Texas and want to find a rationalization that says they should have lost" something tells me you'll find a way to dive in and "prove" Texas gets all the calls and never gets screwed by refs. Some biases can't be shaken... We all saw something way different. And we have two one-game seasons for a shot at CFB immortality. All bullshit aside, that's incredibly cool.
