Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet
I Plead Da Fif replied to Coach pop a bitch's topic in Football
Was at that game with my dad. I remember seeing the teams get off the bus and teenaged me mouthed “fuck you” to Nick when we (at least I thought) locked eyes for a brief second haha. Was a great day and great game to be at. -

The funny thing is I think he would do really well in an offense like Michigan’s, assuming there’s a solid power RB and a couple of targets for him to throw to. I imagine Michigan fans would kill for QE this year at QB too. Michigan doesn’t come back to Austin until 2027, playoffs notwithstanding. Arch gets to face off against Ohio State the next two years for our non conf big opponent. Michigan really would be a perfect match if he doesn’t like where his draft grades put him. -

I don’t even see this as a possible outcome. I think next year the Mannings and Arch are guaranteed QB1. I don’t see a world in which QE plays another season of CFB and plays for Texas. I could see him going to Michigan, Miami, Oregon, and a small handful of SEC schools if he gets around the intraconference transfer rules, than being back at Texas. -

While I don’t disagree with some of your statements here, I’ll just ask you this: do you think it is also possible that we run different offenses with Arch and Quinn because we have a damn good HFC and OC who plays into his QB’s strengths? If I’m not fanboying over Arch, which is really easy to do with what we’ve seen this year in his limited action, I’m seeing him as someone who isn’t as accurate as Quinn in the short and intermediate game and doesn’t throw as good of a ball for YAC as Quinn. Arch has better mobility/pocket presence, better arm strength and more accurate on the deep ball. And Arch is a vocal fiery leader. I think we can all agree that Arch has a higher ceiling and is probably closer to what Sark desires as his signal caller in his ideal offense. That said, it’s pretty much a guarantee based on QE being the guy that Sark feels more confident in his Quinn version of the offense with Quinn as a 3rd year starter running it over his Arch version of the offense with Arch the RS FR running it. -

I agree with this statement. I know people refuse to believe this, but the reality is is each game he’s making at least one pass where I’m surprised he was able to go through his progressions to the 3rd option and fire a strike. Maybe it’s because I’ve come to expect less and less of him since the OU game, but I I’m happy to be pleasantly surprised. It’s not just dump offs either. I’d have to go back and rewatch the Arky game, but I remember one where he connected on a first down over the middle and it was his 3rd option. Palmer, as bad as he was on color Saturday, even called it out as a great play by Quinn, and it was. We should at least attempt to be accurate in our critiques of Quinn. He’s struggled/struggling with deep ball accuracy, pocket presence/self sacking, and he’s not running and taking off for the free yards that are being given as frequently as he could. If he had a bit more fiery leadership, it may be easier to forgive his short comings. Put me in the camp of having Ewers be more aggressive running the ball when it’s there for Aggy and beyond. Quinn has plus, if not great accuracy and touch in the short to intermediate game. Quinn leads receivers in motion to give them their best chance at YAC. Quinn throws an incredibly catchable ball, Wingo and Moore drops recently be damned. Watching other games in the SEC recently, it became even more apparent how catchable his balls are than say Nussmeier or Sellers. I say all this to say, we could be a lot worse off than Quinn Ewers at starting QB. Quinn has looked terrific at times in his tenure and also ass my dude at times. I also am undecided as to whether this team looks better on offense if Arch were to have started the entire year. We saw Arch start against arguably our 2 easiest opponents all year, and in one game he looked phenomenal, and in another he looked like a freshman QB. The definition of inconsistent. His ceiling is undoubtedly high. If Sark truly believes QE gives us our best chance to win a title this year, I’m willing to believe in Sark. He has brought us back from absolute irrelevance to 2 straight years of going to or being on track to make the CFP. Sark and the core of this team, inclusive of QE, are the very reason why our expectations have become sky high and why there’s so much hand wringing over the guy under center who should lead us to the promised land. -
With UGA beating the Vols and assuming we beat UK and Aggy who do we play? Rematch with UGA? Bama? Ole Miss? Tennessee?
