I hate to break up the national socialist emoting, but serious question ... why don't they accept Mexico's offer of asylum? That feels like a win-win?
  2. I could not figure out what was more insane: that he graduated from a respectable medical school (granted secsecsec but not the Bahamas #noracist) or that he managed to do so much harm, so quickly, in so many places, and no one stopped him. Not sure I have been so scared of going to the doctor since that Anakin Skywalker movie about the guy who had heart surgery but the anesthesia did not work.
  3. File under don't see this every day. Not a doctor, but six seems a little young ... some of these affirming shrinks seem like the other side of the conversion therapy coin. http://thefederalist.com/2018/11/26/mom-dresses-six-year-old-son-girl-threatens-dad-losing-son-disagreeing/
  4. I just listened to "Dr. Death." Maybe the most frightening and unbelievable story I've heard in a long time.
  5. Anybody listen to "Doctor Death" about the fake neurosurgeon in Dallas who paralyzed his friend, killed at least one woman, and maimed many others? It is both frightening and amazing the guy could 1) graduate from medical school and 2) get away with so much carnage for so long.
  6. I understand wanting to find out who he may have killed, but it seems like a waste of our money to prosecute a guy already serving life terms. From the article: A man who has admitted killing more than 90 people, including one from Texas, may be one of the most prolific serial killers in U.S. history if convicted, officials say. Samuel Little, 78, made the confessions in a series of interviews with federal authorities and law enforcement from 14 states. Investigators have tied him to about 30 of the crimes so far, but don't doubt the confessions, The New York Times reported. In May, Texas Ranger James Holland traveled to California where Little was serving three consecutive life sentences for the murders of three women in the 1980s. https://www.dallasnews.com/news/courts/2018/11/26/man-says-killed-90-may-prolific-serial-killer-us-history
  7. I think this largely is at the heart of it. Both parties seem to celebrate and promote the extremes and anti-intellectualism versus pragmatic, long-term solutions, which I get do not play well in a world of twitter. Too much emotion, too little rationale thought on both sides. Complex problems require more than sound bites, but the latter seems to be all that counts.
  8. Texas-pig was one of the great historic rivalries. I would put pig on the schedule every year. Nothing quite like Royal-Broyles. With ousux now in conference, that would be a great annual non-conference showdown. For some reason a bunch of pig people go to my church, and they still hate Texas more than any other school.
  9. I'll respectfully disagree with you. I realize I'm asking for it, but despite the ESPN hype, Baylor had two arrests and those players never played / never played again after being arrested. Osbourne had myriad arrested criminals playing for him regularly. Baylor certainly dropped the ball in its governance, but much of it was accusation with not a ton proven - those that were were dealt with. No, not making excuses, but I think don't think just because a young black guy is accused he's automatically guilty. Yes, I read the Pepper Hamilton report as well as the formal letter from the university exonerating Briles. Like anything that garners popular opinion, there is often a distinction between popular opinion and reality, which is not to say there was nothing but to say it likely was not to the scale of the social media storm. Not trying to derail, so feel free to flame /neg away, but I'm not going to respond so as to keep on topic. I'm not defending every action Baylor took at all, but I also think it is no worse than TCU, Nebraska, FSU, etc. The university just completely mishandled the crisis and allowed it to take a life of its own. My beef with Osbourne in addition to putting winning above women is his ridiculous hypocrisy. I'll given Fisher, Patterson, Briles credit at least that they were not pretending to be something they are not. I don't see how a man can speak at Promise Keepers one day and have Lawrence Philips play the next.
  10. Unfortunately knew the song but don't get the Dwight Howard thing either. #honkey
  11. Started War Games last weekend. The early 80s technology is awesome.
  12. Morality aside, did she think it was worth life in prison? #whatiswrongwithpeople
  13. That's what I was thinking. Just pull out $1,000 / week and pay for small stuff with cash. Sprinkle a little in the bank each year but just control yourself.
  14. Osbourne may have run the dirtiest program in college football history while that hypocrite hid behind his religion. He had exponentially more coverups and criminals than Baylor or TCU ever thought about having. To me, Osbourne is the epitome of evil and hypocrisy - Briles and Patterson do not pretend to be some thing they are not.
  15. Longview has broken my heart too many times to get excited. This feels like it could be the year, so I'm planning on a loss next weekend versus Vanderwhatever ... Longview has to be the best program in the state by far never to have won it. Anybody know much about Vander? The record obviously impressive, but I don't know much about that district. I can barely even keep up with how the playoffs are done these days. Get off my yard, but I remember when one team / district made it, now basically half the schools make the playoffs it seems with so many classifications and playoffs. Texas high school playoffs have become bowls - too many to keep track of.
  16. Agreed. This is among those 100 ideas that I think almost everyone agrees with but for some reason no one can really implement. I guess because people. I think most realize this, but when we started tying executive compensation to stock price, things fell apart. That is one of those 100 ideas that sound really good in the classroom and makes sense theoretically, but no one ever thinks through the long-term consequences. Again, because people.
  17. Count me among those more surprised at two piss-poor defenses and terrible officiating.
  18. I always told my pig people friends - who were secsecsec about aggy joining - that aggy would be the worst thing to happen to it because it would take away its single biggest selling point. There is really no reason pig should be a decent football program: small state, no national appeal, etc. The one thing it had was secsecsec close to Texas, but aggy and misery will siphon more and more of that - why go to pig when one can go to aggy or misery - bigger schools, closer to large cities. I suspect pig will be in the dump for eternity - Petrino worked magic for a bit, but I suspect that was pretty dubious. I would guess Nebraska and Missouri might regret their movies, but I doubt they would ever consider rejoining - no many as prideful as academics and athletics. I am old fashioned and think the best part about college football is the regional rivalries and really hate what the ESPN did to college football. I would return to six regional conferences, which would be perfect for a legit playoff: six champions and two wild cards for an eight-team championship.
  19. You won't even have to start a new party ... that's about the platform of the national socialists. You just need an army and some trains.
  20. I wonder if she'll bother reading the bill before she passes it?
  21. ? Has either school had a 20-game win streak?
  22. The Facebook has dulled National Socialists as the every-villain. Today we need a lesbian Muslim in a wheelchair fighting generic white men for the universal right to pee standing up in any bathroom.
  23. Another racist, nationalist movie celebrating privileged, white, Christian, straight men.
  24. I absolutely don't want to Cloak Room this thread, but there my sense is there is a reasonable alignment among those who hold these two POV: 1. The war on drugs isn't working, legalize / decriminalize 2. Launch a war on guns I am not mixing the two subjects, but if one believes a war on drugs failed, it makes little sense to believe a war on guns would succeed. That does not mean there should not restrictions on firearms, but like most the issue is significantly more complicated. I am neither passionately pro- or anti-gun, but access to guns is no different or possibly more difficult than 25 years ago; yet, mass shootings have increased. What has changed?
