  1. I've been doing a lot of hiking in (possible) cougar country during the pandemic. Going solo I carried a sharp stick with me in case of an encounter, thinking I could stab his ass when he jumped to attack. Never encountered a cougar but I did cause a bunch of hikers walking the opposite way to move off the trail and look at me as if I might stab them with the stick.
  2. My spidey sense says Stormfront is dead (and they lied during the press conference about punishment) and Becca is not. Stormfront has been outed, the Nazi thing is played out and repudiated by Vought. Homelander's kid is out and about (and now traumatized) and the only person that will be able to control him will likely be Becca. I admittedly drink while watching this show, and enjoy both very much. *Narrator: He could be way off*
  3. Our housekeeper comes from a "shit hole" country. She brings her 6 year old over to distance learn on our wifi. I was working the other day and overheard the teacher ask "...and why don't we leave the flag on the ground?' He answered, "Because we don't want it to get dirty?" "Well yes, but also because it's a sign of respect of the country you live in. It's a symbol for all of us." He said, "I like the colors." It struck me that my interaction with immigrants from Hispanic countries has been almost universally positive. Honest, hard working, and very much wanting to be "American". The kid's name is Dylan for fuck's sake, can't get more white bread suburban than that. A few years ago I was invited to a buddy's swearing in ceremony to become a US citizen. Most of the people in the audience were brown skinned. The white judge handling ceremonies said something to the effect; "My great grandparents came here from Ireland with nothing. They worked hard to provide for their children, my grandparents. They did the same for my parents, worked hard to slowly better themselves. And my parents did the same, and worked themselves into a position to put me in college, the first in our family. I then went on to law school, and eventually became the judge before you now." Dramatic pause. "No go forward and do the same for your family." The anti immigration white supremacist faction of this fucking party can DIAF.
  4. Don't fret, not too bad. Some climate control wiring, flashers on either side. Post pics when you install, I'm a month or so behind you. Also I have a brand new climate control assembly/face plate I won't be using. Anyone need one PM and it's yours.
  5. Recent text exchange: Wife: Grades come out today can you look online please Me: Will do. Wife: He better have gotten all As and Bs. Tell him I'm serious about this stuff. A few hours pass, grades finally come online. Me: All As and Bs Wife: What were the Bs? He's slacking. Me: Relax, he's fine. FYI he said you're on his back too much and need to trust him. Wife: What? What did you say to him? Me: Scroll up. I did what you asked me to. Wife: Remember last week when I asked you to be point person on grades so I'm not the bad guy! Me.
  6. Great read. My older brother had a badass stereo system in the 70's, with those 5 foot high JBL speakers. A buddy and I were watching some cartoons or some shit when he came in and said "hey dumbasses check this out." He put us in front of the speakers and turned on Eruption, full blast. It felt like a hot wind was blowing over me. When it was over I looked over at my buddy, his mouth gaping open. "Holy shit!" I read somewhere that they were kicking around band names in the early days. DLR said it had to be Van Halen, because it sounded like a fucking pirate ship.
  7. Thanks for the offer - I have a fixed fan and a clutch, very ass backward. I'll check WCCC I've bought stuff from them in the past.
  8. @Mother mopar this is likely relevant to your interests. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1969-426-hemi-engine/
  9. I'm installing mine right now also. Did you up it to 24 inches? I stayed at 20 with a new 3 row rad - fingers crossed. Did you source that six blade clutch fan recently? I'm in the market for the same thing and can't find it anywhere, completely out of stock everywhere and supposedly not being restocked until November at the earliest. So I'm going with a non clutch fan in the meantime. What a/c unit are you going with? I went with Classic Auto, just installed my compressor. Looks like you already have a bracket installed?
  10. Great news. Hopefully they can still schedule some Pac 12 After Dark games. That was the most depressing part of Pac 12 cancelling.
  11. I believe all their losses are to 3A teams. Seems like they schedule 3A teams early on every year before going into 2A, but yes, the results are not encouraging.
  12. csb/ In high school I got pretty good at chugging beers out of German steins. It was fun to have some competition with my buddies while getting plastered. Fast forward to freshman year of college at SWT. I was a pledge and the frat decided to have a rare pledge/bro event at ... shit I don't remember, maybe Grin's. Anyway we're getting drunk and talking shit and somehow it comes up that I'm good at chugging beers. The shit hit the fan. Lots of 'fuck you's' and 'let's see it pussy' back and forth. One guy brought out the cash and flashed it around, 'you fucking pledges put your money where your mouth is - I've got 20 that says he Mach 1 can't down a pitcher in a minute!" I stayed Zen like. My buddies all gathered around with the 'can you do it?' ' what do you think?' I stated very calmly, "I'll do it in fucking 30 seconds." Pandemonium, everyone went berserk. Hooping, hollering, money changing hands all over the fucking place, manager threatening to throw us out. I was totally confident, had it in the bag, except ... A pitcher is apparently 1.5 liters. A stein is 1 liter. So I chugged about 90% of the pitcher in about 10 seconds and BOOM, hit the wall. Stomach full, seeing stars, head wobbling - I didn't really know where I was. And then I let out the largest burp of my life, seemed to go on forever. I was still kind of out of it when one of my pledge brothers shoved dollar bills in my face and screamed, "YOU STILL HAVE 5 SECONDS!" I grabbed the pitcher, downed the rest. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner. I went straight to the head and threw up. But I made over a $100 bucks on that beer, which is a lot for a freshman in college, so yeah, probably the best beer I ever drank. /csb
  13. This is an excellent movie. Highly recommend. And I'll add Magnolia by Paul Thomas Anderson. I don't think it's as much underrated as kind of forgotten.
  14. Pre season game in the early 70's, Saints vs Cowboys at Tulane Stadium. Superdome was almost done but not quite. Cowboys wore their blue jerseys, so of course they lost. I was around 5 or 6 and wearing a Cowboys shirt of some kind. Exiting the stadium some older kids yelled at me "Cowgirls suck, haha Cowgirls suck!" I was ascared.
  15. Official one. It's a little awkward to navigate but look for the stage links and it should lead you to a route map and a "heritage" link, or something similar. https://www.letour.fr/en/
  16. FPA sent them with their own gaskets and bolts, so I'm using them. I know you're not supposed to use gasket and sealer, but I'm going to use just a little to stick the gasket on the header before installation. I've found it nearly impossible to install without, the gasket keeps slipping and I can't get the bolts on at that ridiculous angle - and that was on the test stand.
  17. I'm not nearly as tied in as you guys, but I do enjoy watching the Tour every year. I pull for Quintana. Alway liked him since he came on the scene a few years ago IIRC when Froome was winning. I also enjoy the Tour website that tracks the route and tells you about the history of the little villages they pass through. Really cool. France is a country that needs further exploration away from the main draws.
  18. Yeah I had them coated. I Googled the address for FPA Headers and it looks like some farm house in Washington, so I wouldn't say factory. Not sure what that dude has going on in the barn, but he's put together quite a following in the Mustang world. Agreed on the horror story fit issues, so I splurged to avoid any headaches. I wanted to install the engine with the headers on, but it would be impossible to get the motor mount bolt in, so they will have to wait. Probably would have scratched and dented them anyway. Fingers crossed no issues. I did some measuring and I think I'll be fine, they really do hug the block and meander away from the steering/starter, etc.
  19. Thank @topochico This shit is absolutely body transforming.
  20. I've listened to some of the interview. All the focus on Trump misses the fact that Woodward is absolutely brilliant in his interview form. He's so subtle in his questions, soft serving them as if he's talking to someone he actually agrees with. It's a professional playing with a narcissistic dumbass.
  21. Yes. Cars 50 years ago were not engineered for the power of a modern LS.. Suspension upgrades, differential, brakes, and probably some chassis beefing. This is not personal knowledge, but just what I've read over the years in classic car forums.
  22. Loud talkers. I've hit a couple national parks during the lockdown, done a lot of local hiking. It's usually so quiet you could communicate with the person next to you with a whisper, but no, there's always a group of dipshits yelling at each other on the trails like they're in a fucking wind tunnel. Just because we can't see you doesn't mean we can't hear your goddamn nonsense within a mile radius, dumbass. Nature can often be peaceful and calming, so shut the fuck up and let it do its job.
  23. Danke. FPA long tubes, made to order specifically for your engine. I've read a bunch of stories about mid level headers not fitting, hitting the steering slave, etc so I went with these guys. They even stamp your name on the header for personalized service.
