  1. I'm watching this now. Complete nonsense, verbal diarrhea. Someone with an English doctorate degree couldn't decipher his points, much less his Cletus base. So status quo. Keep it up Dotard, let's kick the can down the road till you're out of office.
  2. Haha yeah it's a movie where if you miss some quick details you can get lost in the weeds. I like the way they dropped breadcrumbs throughout without hitting the viewer on the head with it. The quick flashbacks showed he was a soldier in the past, now severely traumatized, somewhat suicidal. One quick flash showed he found a bunch of dead girls in some kind of storage unit - boom, that's his motivation in doing what he does. Rawls is his agent.
  3. Classing up the place with a literary reference. Well done.
  4. I've been very impressed with Kaitlan Collins on CNN. She's always on point when interviewed by a main anchor, even keeled, professional. And she doesn't give two shits about Trump's bullying style in press conferences, keeps after him, never intimidated. She's 28 and has more balls than most of the men who interview Trump. Parents must be proud.
  5. $38/lb. It looked so awesome I said fuck it and shelled it out. Guy who sold it to me insisted that I sear it 90 seconds per side, no more, no less. It was pretty good but not earth shattering. I read somewhere that the Japanese usually slice it and quick sear it on hot rocks. I think that would kick it up a notch.
  6. Something new at the butcher, Wagyu Zabuton ("pillow" in Japanese).
  7. You Were Really Never Here Joaquin Phoenix hired by families to find abducted children and exact violent revenge. Very dark, very good, highly recommend.
  8. Nah, I want you go in fresh. I noticed a lot of "On Loan from .." signs so you should see a bunch of new stuff. Also noticed a sign for the Titan Rocket museum nearby, but I was late for a meeting and had to pass.
  9. Any updates on this? I winced when I first read this. Having that occur to a rebuilt ( I assume) motor is ... less than ideal. Hope you figured it out.
  10. Just got back and I have to wholeheartedly agree. What an amazing collection. I'm still shocked I hadn't heard about this museum until your post - it's a must visit IMO for everyone not just airplane fans. I'm going to steal a little of your thunder and post a pic. So impressive to see in person. 'Murica! Another cool thing: as I walked around fighter jets from Luke were doing training maneuvers right above me. The B17 hangar was really well done, on par with any national museum. The gun turrets were cool, but that underbelly one was wild. I could just imagine the exchange between Captain and Gunner. "Bobby I need you to curl up in a ball and get in that glass bubble that will be totally exposed to enemy gunfire." "Why me all the time? Let Johnny do it this mission." "You're 5'4" son, now get in there and shoot down some Krauts. And take a piss first." ** Space Hangar was closed, bummer **
  11. Thanks for that. We have some rental properties in Tucson, heading there tomorrow - how I've never visited this museum after all these years is embarrassing. Pics are yours, I'll just browse.
  12. My man, the garage is a space far and away from my quarantined family. I don't give a shit what the specs are, I was going to take the time to cover every square inch of the interior. If I hadn't spent 10k on the paint job I might have covered the exterior.
  13. Just a heads up, my son is a JV player in California. Summer conditioning (10 kids to a coach, staggered timing, 6 foot distancing) will continue until August 13th, then go dormant until December 18th when full on practices go live. First game January 8th. All Fall sports moved to Winter, all Winter sports moved to Spring schedule (TBD). If TX cases don't subside, might see something similar.
  14. I'm using a loose interpretation of the thread title for CSB time: Had a little Opel in high school. A buddy and I had a couple of girls in the car cruising around. I tried to show off by peeling out and POP! the gas pedal line broke off the carburetor and uncoiled on the the floorpan. We tried to fish it back into the tube, no chance. It was late, everything closed, no one around, pre cell phones ... fuck me I had to get the girls home or I was dead man walking. I rummaged around the trunk, found some old speaker wire and did some deducing. Hook it up to the carb? Yes, we hooked it up to the accelarator, fished it through the cowl vents and rolled down the driver's side door. Voila, back on the road. To give it gas I just pulled on the speaker wire. To change gears I'd let it retract back, shift, and steer with my knees. Probably drove 50 miles like that.
  15. Haha, I bought one box and it only covered about 1/3 of the area. I said fuck that and finished it off with a different product, Kilmat, that was about 1/2 the thickness and 1/3 the price. I did use the Dynamat on the inside of my doors. Doors that once closed perfectly now need a little more oomph to shut solid - I think the weight may have caused a slight deflection. Just add that mistake to the bonfire of the other hundred mistakes I've made during this little project.
  16. You motorboatin' son of a bitch, you're going for concourse level aren't you?
  17. Finally knocked out the new interior. Just need to install the drive train, wire it up and I'll be joining you fuckers on the road. .
  18. It's the five ingredients. Pre cooked/shredded chicken and Monterey Jack rolled into the tortilla (corn, white, softened) then the chicken soup/green chile mix (heated in pot) poured over the top, with another layer of cheese. Heat 350 for 25-30 minutes. I added cumin and salt to the chicken before the roll. Also some Cholula and medium salsa to the soup mix. Bueno comfort food.
  19. @JSB this is the kind of intel you'll want to accumulate to help your search. 69 Mach 1 parked since 1983. Ask was $20k and it was gone in under 24 hours (seller probably could have gotten $5k more) https://barnfinds.com/1969-ford-mustang-mach-1-barn-find/
  20. I would highly recommend you keep your powder dry for a few weeks/months and do a lot of looking on BAT, Barn Finds, Ebay and Craigslist. Get a good sense of what's out there, price vs. shape, etc. Then you can narrow your search to a few favorite rides and be knowledgable on what is/isn't a good deal.
  21. I agree, but it's really hard to find a manual fastback that A) hasn't already been restored and ridiculously expensive, or B) unrestored, rusted, and ridiculously expensive.
  22. Brother from another mother. I have a manual 97 M3 in storage. I've kept it partially because I want to teach my kids to drive stick. I have a somewhat irrational thought that they might need the skill to get out of a dicey situation when the only option is a stick. When I was searching for my Mach 1 I also wanted manual, but after a year or so of looking I softened on that position, and the thought of cruising around in an auto started to grow on me. Finally found one that was numbers matching and in decent shape - also auto. Said fuck it and pulled the trigger. Having the M3 in the stable to feel some manual torque when I wanted helped the decision.
  23. A little nostalgic this weekend and went for my grandma's chicken enchilada recipe. Simple Hill Country with only five ingredients - chicken, cream of chicken soup, tortillas, cheese, green chilies. I tarted it up with some cumin, pico and guac, but the presentation with chicken enchiladas is always in inverse proportion to taste (just made that up).
  24. Hope you reinforced the roll bar.
