  1. I had to go through my invoices to find it - holy shit, I've spent a lot of money on this restoration. I don't want to look through those again. The Clock Works in beautiful Eagle River Wisconsin. 800-398-3040. Mine cost $190 bucks and it was in bad shape.
  2. Just wrapped up the refurb of my instrument cluster. Everything now working as it should, lights, camera, action. One of the cool things about restoring a classic is coming across small, specialized businesses. You usually get to talk directly to the owner and they always appreciate the business. Clock not working? There's a guy in Wisconsin that refurbs them and adds a modern quartz mechanism. Speedo off? There's a guy with a home garage business that fixes classic speedos. My favorite so far is a company in Michigan that refurbed my instrument panel. It was faded and the silver edges were all gone. This company replates silver onto plastic - that's it, that's all they do. Toys, models, costume jewelry and automobile parts. I just think it's cool that a company like that is alive and kicking.
  3. I want to party with that guy.

    The Wire

Yeah I didn't phrase that correctly. More like a new appreciation of their friendship. It's a major part of the show's appeal, which was not readily apparent on first viewing.

    The Wire

I recently started a rewatch. Such a good show. One of the cool things I forgot about was the friendship between Bunk and McNulty. Those guys know each other so well they can communicate with just a look. Actors are great, writing top notch.
  6. Relax. I've just stumbled upon the solution for all your germ concerns. I present to you the Covid killing UV light sabre from China. My wife just bought one. We can now fly anywhere we damn well please and disinfect any part of the plane we come in contact with, especially - I'm told by my wife - the toilet where the highest likelihood of infection occurs. Some of our fellow travelers may have their retinas burned and skin cancer kick started here and there, but hey, not our problem. I figure we couple this with some hydroxychlarquine and we'll be fucking impervious.
  7. Hawaii is booking up for the summer. We rebooked our Spring Break Maui trip for mid July. All ocean front rooms already booked through September. 14 day quarantine supposed to end at the end of the month. I don't see them extending, they need the tourism dollars. FWIW, Wife just got back from a flight and took this pic. Lucky for us we all went as Breaking Bad characters last Halloween.
  8. This is Sunderland is like a drink of water in the desert. Give me any kind of actual sporting storyline, drama, matches, wins, losses, fan rants, coaches fired, hired, trades, contract talk .... JFC I know nothing about Sunderland but I was fully engaged.
  9. That's awesome. We were on the east side. Some local kids blew up a raft to row over to Garret Island, but my parents wouldn't let me go, as I was around 7 or so. Bastards. I watched them row out there, so jealous. It might as well have been the Arctic Circle, it looked so far away and adventurous.

    2020 Drunk Thread

Yeah, I'm on my way to drunk. When this quarantine started I used the "Thursday is the real start to the weekend!" excuse. It's seemingly slipped to Wednesday.
  12. I've always followed the first post from TOS. Never goes wrong. Salt at room temp, wash off, pepper, oven at 175 at 30-60 minutes, then sear it. I added the butter baste with rosemary/thyme at the end, and overshot this time. Went from med rare to medium.
  13. My grandparents had a lakefront cabin on Lake Buchanan. We showed up on July 4th weekend and they had our room stocked with fireworks, all the usuals like Black Cats, bottle rockets and those flying saucers, but also bad ass ones like the big tubes that did all sorts of wild stuff. Sparklers? None, they're for pussies. Next morning Meemaw served Count Chocula with chocolate milk. Why not? Dinner was fried catfish caught that day. I caught a bone in my throat and she rolled a ball of white bread in water and shoved it down my throat. Worked like a charm. Had a hard time sleeping because I was sunburn as shit. But I was happy.
  14. Might go that route next project. I was shocked how well the pre bent Mustang lines came from NPD - or maybe CJ - can't recall but I think they all come from same supplier. Very little bending necessary.
  15. So I found out today my paint guy wedged that pedal away from the housing and the spring was gone and pedal laying on the floor. Fucker, guess it got in the way of something. Luckily had the original spring/pedal, pried it apart, and was able to put it back on the replacement. Getting a new parking brake on a tensioned correctly is not fun. Yours looks concourse!
  16. I replaced all my lines and my front drums to disc from a company from Marble Falls, CSRP. Some guys on a Mustang forum advised to have a pro install the system, for safety purposes, but I did it with no problem at all. Bleeding it took a little trial and effort, but no big deal.
  17. Great finale to a great season. Questions: Might have missed it (bourbon) but I think Trudeau goes from killing the CI in one scene, then to sneaking into Avril's house and getting axed? So was he there to kill Avril because he was a snitch, or did Avril bring him there to kill him to snuff out witnesses? Since Avril was packed up I thought the latter, but it's not clear. The J Edgard close with Bosch will be a theme in the final season. I like the JE breaking bad turn. Should be interesting, Bosch will be a hypocrite to question it Also I didn't read the books; why did African American parents name their son after Hoover? I don't recall him being a bastion of African American rights.
  18. I was going to go with Rozier from that ridiculous NB team from the 80's. Didn't seem to fit the thread so I'll nominate this guy:

    Led Zeppelin

We just went through a few of these with my SiL, an 80's kid and a hip hop fan. It was well received. Good times, thanks for posting.
  20. That is a breathtakingly dumb statement. Sorry I responded to your post, good luck.
  21. This reminds me of when I told my mom I decided to go to grad school. She started crying because she thought it would be a financial burden on her. Took me awhile to get over the resentment I felt over that move. I never took another dime from her, and made a point to pay her back for my high school car with my first pay check. I say that not to shine a light on me, but to say be careful. There could be some long term relationship ramifications here. Having to 'console' your wife over this decision is ... not ideal. Try to be supportive of her life decision; finances can be figured out one way or another. I have some family connections to USC. The school has spent a shitload of money and effort in an attempt to bring it to an elite level of education. Their alumni are diverse, wealthy and supportive. LA is (at least prior to Covid) on fire economically - FANG companies are investing heavily in the area. Shit Google just leased an entire shopping mall in west LA for new office space. For every dumbshit like Louglin's kid there are probably a dozen more that apply themselves and come away from there ready for success. Good luck.
  22. I'm really enjoying After Life. Gervais is great. Lots of laughs with the occasional dusty room syndrome. Well done.
  23. NM, wrong beach. I thought it was Leo Cabrillo up near Ventura. *Boat looks great, envious*
  24. Not the type of music I often listen to, but I like the new Rufus Wainwright.
