  1. I would highly recommend you reconsider Cool Hand Luke. It stands the test of time. I tried to think of a comparable movie and the only thing I could come up with was Shawshank. They're different movies with some light similarities. CHL is both funnier and darker IMO, more action. Shawshank is a brilliant film but I like Cool Hand Luke even better.
  2. One of the few bright spots from this whole mess is the time to cook a variety of different meals. I keep forgetting to take pics before the food is attacked by my kids, but here's a couple. Wife wanted Italian Beef sandwiches, so I pulled out the Crock Pot. Followed the Portillo's recipe with provolone and pepperocinis. The store had Top Sirloin on sale so I pounded the shit out of it and made Chicken Fried. A little worried as they were thicker than your typical cube steak, but they came out great. Actually a bit better. Didn't get the money shot with gravy before they were gone.
  3. My local Mexican joint had a big sign out front today, Margaritas to Go! Why, yes, I think I will, with a shot of Patron on top.
  4. Which part, where the guys you dated ordered you to watch the movie? (j/k) I get opinions differ on movies, fine, but that review was a a fucking ridiculous navel gazing look at me piece of shit. No one gives a shit about your dating history, pussycat, or how those mean boys "ordered" you to watch a movie they thought was great. The horror! And then, of course, let's throw in some sexism to body armor your opinion. Fuck you. I don't watch Pitch Perfect and think, "You know I don't see any middle aged white guys singing teams, so clearly the movie just isn't trying to connect with people." So don't go watch a movie about turn of the century oil drillers and expect to see a white, entitled 20 something woman writer equally represented. I think the movie is a masterpiece. I'm all good if you don't agree, opinions differ. But fuck her dumb review.
  5. I use this on everything. Cures instantly with the accelerator. Amazing stuff. *Bob Smith Industries, pics a little small*
  6. I remember listening to Dan Patrick the next day on the radio, "Colt McCoy, the Heisman trophy was his to lose. And I think he lost it." Tough shake. He had a bad game against a lights out defense on national television. Couple of take aways from today's games. 1) JFC I would hate to be a Nebraska fan, and 2) Texas has had a remarkable number of clutch kickers.
  7. I guess it's possible. But she was in NYC for a week in early March when the thing exploded, and she had slight flu like symptoms. My main point is doctors not trusting the anti body tests (also noted by ChiTown above) that leaves us exactly at square one.
  8. I took the anti body test on Friday. Negative. This after living for two weeks in close quarantine with a wife that tested positive. Doc is also surprised. Sister in Law (who spent a lot of time with my positive wife) goes in after me and also comes back Negative. Doc tells my SIL fuck it, he's not going to give any more of this particular anti body test because he doesn't trust the results. So we have that going for us. Testing that isn't trusted by front line doctors. This whole thing is a clusterfuck.
  9. First game I took my son to. Good times. IIRC Machete pulls a Superman move at some point. And that stadium was absolute shit. ... and it's not on. Direct TV shows it as the Holiday Bowl but is actually showing the 2017 Texas Bowl. Weird.
  10. Quarantine lunch. Leftover short rib, jack cheese, green Chile sauce, avocado, and tying the room together crushed tortilla chips. Still hungry so finished off the avocado with Cholula and some chicharrones
  11. If you like It's A Mad, Mad, Mad World, I highly recommend a 70's version of something similar in What's Up Doc. Streisand, Ryan O'neal and Madeline Kahn. Just on TCM. It really is a classic. The scene with the judge is non stop with laugh out loud lines. Streisand was pretty hot in this. Fight me or check it out for yourself. *and directed by Peter Bogdanovich
  12. I'm biased obviously, I like the "muscle" look of the fastback 69/70 over all others. Only real difference between the two is a slightly more aggressive look on the 69 with the rear quarter panel scooped and 4 headlight vs 2 on the 70 - otherwise same car. The 69/70 isn't nearly as big in the garage as I expected it to be. It looks much bigger when compared to the 68, but in reality it's only 4 inches longer and 1 inch wider. Can't go wrong the 68 though, also a badass car. 71-73 makes my eyes bleed. I paid $13k for mine, delivered, running but needing a full restoration. Decent deal from what I saw after 2 years of looking.
  13. One of my favorite cars of all time up for sale. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1969-aston-martin-dbs/
  14. Fuck you covid 19 I'm going to Spring Break anyway (by the pool, with headphones and booze).
  15. I took it as Gus told Mike his end play - eventually take down the boss of the whole fucking thing. As a cop, that would appeal to Mike. Now after the takedown, what then? Gus has too much invested with Madrigal to stop, so he can't. Maybe VG will fill this in. For now, I think my first sentence is enough motivation.
  16. I think Mangum's kick gave the program the confidence necessary to win it all the following year. Vince and company had everything in place even if they lost, but there was something special about winning that Michigan game. I was there, lost my shit in the stands. I'm just a dumb fucking fan, but I have to think the excitement of that win - a great back and forth game - had to have an effect through coaches and players also.
  17. Holy shit, WTF were Ford engineers thinking? That is bizarre. Anyway, here's an article my Google machine popped up. http://www.mustangandfords.com/how-to/paint-body/mump-1302-cowl-vent-repair-solutions
  18. but really need to pull it out and get in there with a borescope to check it out. You should be able to remove the cowl vent and the wiper motor to get a good luck/access to the top without having to scope. Underside a different story, wiring every where, lower dash, etc. Surface rust no big deal. Hit it with these 2 and you're good to go. https://evapo-rust.com/. Use a paper towel doused with the stuff and lay it on the cowl, as much direct contact as possible. Do this a couple times over 2 days and you're good. https://www.amazon.com/3M-03584-Professional-Rubberized-Undercoating/dp/B002H9CMCQ
  19. When I bought the car it had a shitty layer of primer on it, so I used magnets to try and gauge how much filler was on the car. Turns out I was lucky, very little. Only cancer was on the rear wheel well, so when it was blasted there weren't any surprises. I was also lucky in that there was so much tar/grease/much built up under the car, it acted as a protective shield. I got underneath and manually cleaned all the old shit off and found the original red oxide primer on most of the undercarriage. Afterward sprayed on the 3M protective coating. The cowl had some pinhole leaks on the driver's side, which must have gotten underneath the carpet and trashed the driver's side floorpan (PO did some Frankenstein patching). I decided against replacing the cowl. One, that work would have been brain damage and likely beyond my abilities. And 2, it still seemed structurally sound. So I hit it the pinholes with rust evaporator, filled them in with JB Weld or something similar, and then coated upside and underside with POR 15. I took a welding class and replaced the DS floorpan myself. Sealed all the seams and used the 3M coating to finish it off. I talked to 3 or 4 body shops. Some guys wanted to replace EVERY panel regardless of the shape it was in - probably to make the job easier. I went with a guy that reused all the original pieces and fixed rusty patches here and there. What's on the docket for your new ride?
  20. Well hello there, welcome home. Did the paint shop treat you well? Yes I see they did.
  21. Yeah, I couldn't watch that guy for more than a nanosecond. My kids are teenagers now, but whenever they fuck up I still use "You have caused confusion and delay!" from Thomas the Train. I had a thing for Nina on The Goodnight Show. She still around?
  22. The King's Speech. Room got a little dusty when the fucker pulled it off.
  23. We're 15 days since my wife returned from NYC and 2 days since she tested positive. Still no symptoms from me and my kids, and my wife is feeling well enough to clean out the closets and junk drawers. She holds up some ancient electronic gadget every 5 minutes and asks me, "What is this?" I need to check the CDC website and see if "annoying" is one of the corona symptoms. I think we should be in the clear by now*. Apparently we were healthy enough to fight it off without any real effects. Good luck guys, hope you are too. *For getting sick. We'll still quarantine the full time.
