  1. They also lump it into the SEC group of academic laggards when it's a strong research university. Their t-shirt fans' boorishness has dragged down its reputation.
  2. Columbus has existing F500 companies, a state with lots of other big companies and very little real competition, and a monster, geographically-dispersed fanbase and alumni network.
  3. The Coinbase and Fanatics alums at Duke just bought themselves Tulane's QB for $6-8mm. They like football enough, and don't want basketball iced out of the major conferences if UNC jumps ship.
  4. They have Micah Hudson pencilled in as Jeremiah Smith 2.0. So good luck with that.
  5. We were in contact with Zach Branch but didn't want the package deal with the brother. Apparently we've sniffed around Noah Thomas as well. Sounds like we're being opportunistic as interesting names come up rather than trying to moneywhip a guy out, at least right now. More of a Best Player Available situation.
  6. That is one volatile WR room
  7. Dealing with state politics (especially in Texas) is a huge pain in the ass
  8. https://247sports.com/longformarticle/2025-navy-all-american-bowl-all-lobby-team-headlined-by-texas-am-signee-kiotti-armstrong-243635134/#2578421 -- Oklahoma Top247 four-star offensive tackle signee Ryan Fodje cast a shadow as he entered Monday's check-in. He measured just shy of 6-foot-5, 295 pounds with a 34+ arm and the look of a player who could play outside or inside in the long run.
  9. https://247sports.com/longformarticle/2025-navy-all-american-bowl-all-lobby-team-headlined-by-texas-am-signee-kiotti-armstrong-243635134/#2578300 -- As noted, big receivers were a theme, and 2026 Top247 four-star Jordan Clay was one of them. In the 6-foot-3, 200-pound neighborhood, Clay possesses gigantic hands for a pass catcher at 10 1/2 inches. -- Top247 four-star junior offensive tackle Felix Ojo was one of the tallest prospects at Monday's check-in. A legitimate 6-foot-6+, Ojo weighed in the 275-pound range with arms pushing 34 inches. A strong week from Ojo could solidify his early standing as a top 30 overall prospect in the 2026 class. -- Speaking of Lone Star State 2026 Top247 four-stars, Jamarion Carlton from the CenTex region deserves a shoutout as well. Carlton, who violently finishes in the open floor during hoops season, measured 6-foot-4 1/2 and 230-plus pounds with big hands (10+) and monstrous length (36+ arm, 6-10+ wing).

Not only has he hit 21.50 seconds in the 200 meters and broken into the 49s in the 400, Phillips owns an absurd 24-foot, 7 1/2-inch long jump. So to add to that elite athletic profile, Phillips measured exceptionally well Monday: just shy of 6-foot-1, 184 pounds with 10+ hand, 34+ arm, and a 6-foot-8 1/2 wingspan. Kaliq Lockett, 2025 Top247 5-star WR, Texas signee One of the longest-framed receivers in attendance, Texas five-star signee Kaliq Lockett out of the DFW Metroplex showed up with offensive line-like length numbers, including a 33+ arm and a wingspan pushing 6-foot-7. Almost 6-foot-2 and 175 pounds, Lockett boasts enormous hands (10 1/2), which certainly aid his pass-catching abilities. Lockett caught more than 100 passes for almost 2,000 yards across his final two high school seasons.
  11. https://247sports.com/longformarticle/navy-all-american-bowl-all-lobby-team-texas-am-texas-ohio-state-penn-state-auburn-kiotti-armstrong-243635134/ First off the bus: Kiotti Armstrong, 2025 Top247 4-star TE, Texas A&M signee Jasper (Texas) standout Kiotti Armstrong has long been our radar as a monstrous tight end prospect who could play along the defensive front or easily grow into an offensive tackle. That said, the Texas A&M signee's functional athleticism and layered athletic background, which includes baseball and basketball, support just how effective he is with the ball in his hands. Armstrong measured 6-foot-5 and nearly 270 pounds with enormous features: 10 1/2-inch hand, almost 36-inch arm, and a 6-foot-11+ wingspan. Coincidentally, the "first off the bus" selection was the second through the door of more than 80 players at Monday's check-in. Lamont Rogers, 2025 Top247 5-star OT, Texas A&M signee Five-stars typically look the part when they walk through the door, and that was exactly the case when Mesquite (Texas) Horn behemoth Lamont Rogers showed up to Monday's check-in. A five-star offensive tackle, Rogers, who also has played basketball and soccer, measured just shy of 6-foot-6 and almost 330 pounds. With 10 3/8-inch hands, the Texas A&M signee also posted a 35+ arm and a legitimately 7-foot wingspan. Chace Sims, 2025 Top247 4-star DL, Texas A&M signee Texas A&M signee Chace Sims assembled an outstanding senior year for Texas Class 5A Division II state champion Richmond Randle out of the Houston metro area. Sims, who registered 28.5 TFL and 11 sacks as a senior, measured north of 6-foot-3 and almost 280 pounds with an enormous arm number (35 inches) and nearly 6-foot-10 wingspan. -- Texas A&M sent the highest number of signees/commits to the Navy All-American Game and they impressed in the check-in line. Pushing 6-foot-5 and almost 250 pounds, West Coast edge defender Marco Jones represented one of those impressive Aggies. Jones boasted large hands (10+) and the requisite LOS length.
  12. Keep reading that Wikipedia article: Dillingham began coaching at age 17 after he tore his ACL during his senior year.[1] He started working with the junior varsity team at Chaparral High School before being promoted to offensive coordinator of the varsity team at 21 years old.[2] While coaching at Chaparral, he went to Arizona State University, graduating in 2012 with a degree in interdisciplinary studies. He was hired as an offensive assistant at Arizona State in 2014 under offensive coordinator Mike Norvell, whom he met while coaching at Chaparral.
  13. Another 5 star QB bust, drifting in and out of the Portal like JT Daniels, Brock Vandegriff (who just announced he's going pro in something other than sports), Malachi Nelson, and Jaden Rashada.
  14. Well, there are like a thousand 3 stars, but as Texas fans we might only need to think about ten of them.
  15. Well, it's Rivals, but I'll still happily take another #1 ranking.
  16. One of the priority guys @closetojumping mentioned
  17. Wouldn't Fleck's WMU squad have been in the CFP? They were an undefeated G5.
  18. We took Norton and Lole in the spring window last year, we should be fine
