  1. Anybody have a favorite method of doing this? I'm using backer rod, sometimes waterproof caulk, leveling caulk, then some sand on the top. That leveling caulk ain't cheap.
  2. Dude, that wording (perfect) was part of your post. Make an honest argument, at least.
  3. Is somebody really arguing that regulating agencies are a perfect answer? Perfect?
  4. And as bad as rlc's are, I find speed limit cameras, like in the UK, to be an abomination.
  5. Eh, I think in the case of (some) rlc's this is a bit overblown. Some (most?) municipalities provide a like to a video which shows your "violation".
  6. I wish him all the best. But he does seem like: a) a head case, b) a homesick kid (nothing wrong with that), or c) who knows? Either way, Texas may be better off without him. But make McCoy regret his decision to leave.
  7. I don't like the rlc's, but I don't hate them, either. Take away the perceived for-profit aspect, and get rid of the bullshit shortening of yellow lights, and the rlc are not all bad. They have improved traffic flow in some places by preventing intersection gridlock.
  8. McGill in Montreal? Very cool.
  9. Not really following you. Maybe you're high on dope. Typically, and of course you may do things differently, kids go from a cc to a 4-year college. Whatever it is, I'm just saying to enjoy the college experience.
  10. People have a choice whether to support this world-wide pedophilia organization or not. A lot of people will choose to support them.
  11. That, and Lance was a cancer Survivor!!1!!11!!. Fuck Lance.
  12. Good luck to all those who are waiting to get into their dream school. Just a few thoughts: community college is ok, a lot of the cool kids are doing it now. Don't go into $100's of thousands in debt for an undergraduate education. Especially if it's an RTF major. Just don't be stupid. Enjoy your college experience. You don't have to get into Harvard.
  13. Agree. But it's more than the RCC. It's basically all Christianity. But without the dogma of "original sin" then why would you need a savior? You wouldn't. So another of my unpopular opinions is that this is all just a business monopoly plan by the church to sucker people into accepting their product. Jesus? Good guy. Nothing divine about him.
  14. I get the moral qualms many have with abortion, but to phrase it like it is above (with no exceptions for the life of the mother, or even exceptions for rape/murder) is to make some sort of value judgement on others, specifically saying that the life of the mother isn't worth as much as the life of the unborn fetus. This is/was the old school Catholic view: a mom has 9 kids, is in a very difficult pregnancy with the option of abortion (to save the mother) or not (to save the fetus). The mom has been baptized, hence been saved, therefore she's going to heaven but the unbaptized fetus hasn't. So, save the fetus. In the meantime, you've got 10 kids now without a mother. That makes no sense to me, right up there with having no exceptions to the blanket "abortion is wrong" mentality. That's my somewhat unpopular opinion, amongst some at least.
  15. The old girl is going to be more and more of a money pit, I'm afraid. Get some good documentarians in there to video the heck out of it. Then make a first-class visitor's center with all that footage and other historic artifacts. As for the ship itself? Maybe tow it out into the gulf and make a reef. Let it be a source of life for the water creatures.
  16. Vote these dipshits out of office. All else is just sound and fury.
  17. It needs money, a lot of it, to keep it in good shape. That may be in the form of admissions tickets, funds from the state, private donations, whatever. It's an old ship that won't improve any with age. I get it. It's named Texas and has served the United States in big wars, but the time comes for an end to everything.
  18. Not that I would do it, but that bitch needed to be body slammed. Tebow style.
  19. Rather just wasn't on the frequency that most conservative Texan listened to.
  20. Probably only this (WSJ): As he faced defeat, Mr. Netanyahu successfully pressed parliament, known as the Knesset, to change tack to avoid allowing Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, a rival, to invite another lawmaker to form the government. But in doing so, Mr. Netanyahu’s supporters likely won’t be able to pass a law giving him limited immunity from prosecution before a pre-trial hearing in October on potential charges of bribery, fraud and breach of trust. That could expose Mr. Netanyahu to a corruption trial if he becomes prime minister again.
  21. Not all cops are bad, of course, but the best thing for the public to remember in the back of their mind is that the police are NOT necessarily there to help you. If you ever get arrested, do what the cops do: no poly, no statement, no waiver. DO NOT SAY ANYTHING. As the Miranda warning says, "anything you say CAN and WILL be used AGAINST you." Nothing you say will be used FOR you.
  22. Vote these mofos out of office (yeah, I know McTurtle isn't going anywhere, but it starts with the Cheeto in Chief). Like Letterman said. Stop complaining. Start voting. Vote!
  23. Am I the only one not surprised that Indiana got hit with God's wrath? Pence's gay vibe has finally angered the almighty, it seems.
  24. I read Lance's book (the first one?) and what I got from that is that he is a world-class grudge holder and basically a sociopath. The guy has deep, unresolved issues. Grow up, Lance. But he probably couldn't have achieved all he did unless he had a raging justice boner to prove his worth. He's one fucked-up dude. I wish he would be a better person. Really. He could be so much more as a person.
  25. Wrong, wrong, wrong, imo. He is despised not because he cheated, but because he tried to personally destroy the lives of some of his detractors. And he may have infamy more than fame.
