  1. Just spit balling here, maybe you should take a break from working with weed.
  2. Karl Urban was in a (too) short-lived tv show called Almost Human with Michael Ealy and Minka Kelly. Anyhoo, there was an episode with a song by the Canadian group Strange Advance called World's Away. Maybe I was just in the right mood, but I thought that was one of the best matchings of music with the scene. Brilliant, I thought.
  3. I saw it and it was pretty good. But it was kind of cringy, to me, at least. Val came across imo like some high school theatre geek who had way too high of an opinion of himself. The part where he was filming John Frankenheimer and Frankenheimer told him to put his video camera away? Give me a fucking break. That's chicken shit. And the more I watched the more I thought that Val is chickenshit, petty, and arrogant. He's a good actor but imo he's not THAT good. (and the interwebs buzz is that Kilmer burned somebody) Frankenheimer (of Manchurian Candidate and Ronin fame) shouldn't have to put up with petty actors like that. So, in that sense, fuck Val. ***One of the most famous stories about Kilmer’s attitude problem came from the set of the 1996 science-fiction horror film, The Island of Dr. Moreau, a notoriously difficult production. Kilmer reportedly showed up to set late, started arguments, recited lines meant for other characters, and, infamously, burned a cameraman with a cigarette. (Kilmer and the movie’s producers say it was an accident, but others say it was intentional.) *** And fuck the Christian Scientist approach to health care. Val didn't have cancer, he had a "suggestion" of cancer.
  4. Wasn't there a Rick and Morty episode where some character said "God Damn!" a lot? (Looked it up, it's Noob Noob). Anyways, after watching this, my first thought was a giant Noob Noob god damn.
  5. There's a 2003 show on Prime called "Dead Like Me". I really liked it. Only two seasons and a quirky comedy that moves along and has one of the better endings for this type of show.
  6. It's one of the three measures of central tendency, or at least that's what my freshman calc teacher said.
  7. Get some Hank the cow dog books and read them to him. Seriously, great books for kids.
  8. Maybe California will take pity on poor Texas. First the big freeze, now this. Texas has become kind of a joke under Abbott.
  9. Someone needs to sell t-shirts with this on it. I'd buy one.
  10. I hope that guy is banned for life from the Nathan Fillion Civilian Pavilion.
  11. Well, ok then, what are some of the specific questions/wordings that make this a "gotcha" thing instead of an ignorance thing?
  12. Yeah, the death and pain aren't mitigated by his age. I don't think that was the point. But when you're obese and a dumb-fuck my sympathy level is pretty close to zero. More so because of the dumb-fuckery than the fatness. It seems like nature/grim reaper is finally winning a bit over science, and it's mostly because dumb fucks aren't listening and acting on the science. So again, no fucks given for this dumb ass.
  13. I listen Tom Petty Radio on SiriusXM a lot. Good station. Mike Campbell, the lead guitarist for The Heartbreakers, has a group now called The Dirty Knobs with a song entitled "Fuck that Guy". I think that song was made for people like this douchebag.
  14. What's your dad's phone number? Asking for a friend.... lol just kidding. i don't want his phone number. But... as I get older I find myself thinking of how to shuffle off this mortal coil if things get so bad (health-wise). Keeping a fentanyl-laced whatever might be the way to go.
  15. This is why I keep coming back to surly.
  16. I never thought that in my lifetime I would see the GOP and Christianity basically become so full of shit that no intelligent person could belong to either group. But here we are. I kinda like being an athiest Democrat. Hook 'em!
  17. That's only if nobody fights back. I think, now, that there will be plenty of fighting back.
  18. Jesus fucking christ. This clearly isn't the board, intellectually speaking, for you. Take your shit to aggy.
  19. We live in a time where people of science (gasp), NOT RELIGION, have worked very hard to figure out this vaccine shit and yet people refuse to act not only in the interests of those around them but in their own interests. Why? Because mankind is kinda stupid. Like Voltaire (or somebody) said: man is smart. Mankind is dumb. Vaccines have basically done away with smallpox, polio, and other diseases. Those diseases can come back. And if they do, let the anti-vaxxers reap it.
  20. Look, the world/universe is, in parts, a cruel and indifferent place. If you wanna go full retard/anti-vaxx then that's up to you. I just hope you've taken care of your family, updated your will, and by god don't expect public/medicare funds to pay for your stupidity. Is it really such a bad thing to get these idiots out of the gene pool? I don't think so. Good. Don't get a vaccine. Increase your odds of dying. Next.
  21. It's nature's way of receiving you. It's nature's way of retrieving you. It's nature's way of telling you something's fucking wrong.
  22. And that drunk aggy dude. Billy Ray Cyrus Gillispie or something like that.
  23. I'm sure that I don't agree with her reasoning. She sounds like she's so smart that she's stupid. Which to be fair, describes about 80% of lawyers. Law school fucks up their thinking process.
  24. Catching up on my podcasts of As It Happens and just heard about this. Thanks for the post.
  25. Sad news. I was wondering how Professor Weinberg was doing. As in, is he still with us? Do they light the Tower for something like this? Or light it with a different color? He had some (imo) great quotes regarding religion. I don't want to clutter up this thread with it but here's a link to some of his better quotes. https://www.inspiringquotes.us/author/8122-steven-weinberg
