  1. How exactly did this episode insult George Lucas and Star Wars?
  2. Although I think the criticism is over blown and the show isn’t terrible even with its faults, Andor is possibly the slowest SW show, and is probably the best thing Disney+ has put out for live action (well Mando S1 is great too so 1A-1B). My point is I don’t think the type of show has anything to do with most of the criticism that it is getting.
  3. Episode 3 is better. The second half of the episode picking up the pace helped. But with that said, we’re 3 episodes deep in an 8 episode series and I still don’t feel much has happened with the story. I’d say the character drawing most of my interest is Sol. He’s done a decent job so far. BB grew on me through out the series. Good show overall.
  4. Need a wellness check for @Burt Macklin
  5. What parts of the field never see the sun?
  6. Current political issues have been shown in movies all the time by the directors/writers. We can make a long list of what George did but I feel most here understand that already. Andor even had some in there as well. But good writers don’t feel the need the need to hold the audiences hand and awkwardly explain what point they’re trying to get across. It’s subtlety done in a way that doesn’t hurt the flow of the story.
  7. I would never in my life get tired of seeing Jedi on screen if the story’s were good. Star Wars is the Jedi. But Disney has simply failed at making the audience care about them which in return has resulted in a large portion of the fan base feeling burnt out. Theres no place for it to happen in Andor but they could easily make a gritty and down to earth Jedi and fans would soak it up.
  8. I think the Samuel L. Jackson hate in the PT is overblown. I’ll die on that hill. Hayden on the other hand could not overcome George’s fantastic writing. For the most part the actors in the PT did their best for what they were given. Thank god for people like Liam Neeson, Christopher Lee, Ian McDarmid, Ewan McGregor ect. George got lucky in the OT by finding some unknown actors that were still good. It helps when some had experience by acting in plays/Broadway. Theres that famous video of Hamill on the Johnny Carson show where he told a story about him begging George to cut an awful piece of dialogue. I don’t know why Disney is having trouble with the actors today. Maybe there was more wiggle room for actors to improvise under George and that is not the case under the corporation model of Disney. I know in the ST you can tell the actors are fighting tooth and nail to get the words out because the story was so bad. I feel this was Oscar Isaac’s actual reaction to reading this line
  9. In a way it points to what others have said about Disney making Jedi too stoic. They write these very powerful Jedi and then have no clue how to kill them. They set up Indara’s death with the guy falling first and her saving him, and then Mae taking advantage of it the second time around. I just feel like that has been overused for the Jedi. There just had to be one guy left in the bar that didn’t decide to escape to safety with his kid.
  10. This doesn’t really bother me much since Star Wars has historically put physics on the back burner. George routinely did stuff like this.
  11. Gotta feel bad for Yuki. He’s had a pretty good season so far while driving a tractor. I know Yuki had the incident with Dani early but his maturity must be a big concern for Red Bull.
  12. I dunno but through 2 episodes I’m not sure how Disney produced such a boring show with a series budget that matches Dune: part 2 (180 million).
  13. Eh, if it’s high school then they would probably wait to see who Texas is going to hire, especially the ones that have already signed. When a head coach is fired, Baseball recruits operate differently than football recruits do and at a place like Texas that can even lean in their favor compared to other programs. Also, while it’s a little different, Mainieri retired at LSU officially on May 28th prior to LSU hiring Johnson at Arizona. It was almost a full month of not knowing who their next coach was going to be, or at least it was out in the open. They still ended up with the 4th overall recruiting class. I would hope Texas could have the ability to fire Pierce and still hang on to the 3rd overall class in a span of a couple weeks. Put me in the camp that also believes good transfers might give a second thought to Texas to see who they hire instead of already knowing they don’t want to play for Pierce.
  14. Everything is average at best. I could see the story doing some interesting and cool things as the season progresses but through 2 episodes nothing is catching my attention.
  15. No way this holds true
  16. Yes, Tennessee has landed some big time guys.
  17. I think a better situational comp would be LBJ. Tanner was coming of a major injury and only had a half a season under his belt. LBJ wanted to prove he could develop more and get a better grade which did not pan out for him.
  18. No Tulo! Edit: Vitello with Tulo as an assistant would kill in recruiting.
  19. Flores and Thomas are both eligible for the draft. I would lean towards both leaving, with Thomas being the most likely of the two.
  20. If you’re going to put Vaughn and Canham into the list of names then you should put Mingione from Kentucky in there as well.
  21. Van Horn feels like a Calipari move, plus he’s getting up there on age.
  22. It’s going to come down to how bad they want Pierce fired. If it’s low then I think the search to be big names only, which would increase the chances of Pierce returning. If it’s high then the search will be wide open.
