  1. On the flip side, anyone wanting Pierce to be fired and replaced with a lesser resume, must be comfortable with the risk that it comes with. There is like 3 or 4 guys that aren’t up there in age and still have an equal or better resume than Pierce. If we can’t get one of those guys with one being Vitello(barf), then the assumed risk is greater than keeping Pierce. Imo if Bakich makes a deep run with Clemson then he maybe moves into the quality resume guys.
  2. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve leaned to letting him go for a while now. But there is this small part of me that believes if he were to somehow save his job this year and then make it an ole miss type run next year (in the sense the fan base wants him fired not necessarily we would be one of the last four teams in like ole miss was), I don’t think we would still want him fired two years post winning the World Series like ole miss is in right now. It would probably be more of getting over the hump and good things continue to snowball for the program. The problem is I don’t see that happening with him as the pitching coach and not being able to attract good assistants.
  3. Not this again. We’re talking about firing a guy that has 3 trips to the college World Series, hosted regional/super regionals, multiple conference titles, golden spikes winner, and a solid number of high draft picks. Terry and Pierce are not even remotely the same. And frankly the historical standard that we hold each program to is not close either.
  4. I believe we were a 3 seed twice under Augie. Louisiana is a good ball club that has a great coach.
  5. I mean there’s still 5 power conferences, not 4. And I believe someone pointed out that the pac12 has an RPI ranking of 6th. They’re not even the 5th best power 5 conference at this point.
  6. In the end RPI played a bigger factor like said. I’m still a tad surprised
  7. His last game wasn’t Utah, it was a shitty Colorado team.
  8. The Augie days of finding a coach like him are over, sadly. With a Canham it’s just personal preference and no sound reasoning behind it other than I believe in 3-5 years he’ll be one of the best young coaches in college. Someone is going to get him quickly with the current conference situation he’s in. If he can take Oregon st to the series this year then Texas getting him would be an early bird move imo. I’d still take Bakich over Canham tho.
  9. On your second paragraph, one of the only national championship coaches that we could money whip, continually churns out good rosters, and is relatively young is O’Connor from Virginia. O’Sullivan at Florida is around the same age but he’s a bit of a roller coaster. Wouldn’t be overly disappointed tho. Non national title coaches would be a guy like Bakich Clemson. Not really down for Walter at Wake. If we want to go young but proven, then Mingione at Kentucky or Canham at Oregon st would be my picks for that category. Like you said, you’re just not gonna get a non championship coach with the same résumé as Pierce so you’re banking on CDC vetting good enough that the new guy can produce better results in the same time period.
  10. I’m a little confused as to why I was quoted? There’s really nothing you said that I disagree with. I was merely stating that we “kinda” saw some of the “Star Wars is for kids” in ROTJ. It’s a small little window and doesn’t take away from the film at all. I’m a prequel kid btw.
  11. Your reading comprehension is ass. Yep, straight RPI would definitely give me pause but winning six out of seven conference series’ and finishing where we did in the standings should enough for a two seed. I still believe we finished second, not third in the conference.
  12. I agree that can play a role for some teams, but I think Texas didn’t have to worry about getting pushed to a 3 seed. I will be pretty shocked if the committee puts us at 3 seed.
  13. For teams that are going to make the tournament, the conference tournaments are usually pointless, especially for the shoe in top eight teams like some I’ve already pointed out. The rest have to fight human nature and not come out flat against the bottom feeders of the conference that are fighting for their lives. The SEC tournament in my opinion sways a bit differently than other conferences just because how the committee and overall country views the quality of teams. The committee seeing a struggling LSU or Vanderbilt do good in the SEC tournament will move the needle for those teams more than it would a Texas team with 8 Q4 losses and in a conference that is severely down. At a minimum, I would have liked to see this team get one or two wins for confidence. Even if it’s not going to change the committees viewpoint on our destination, this team needs all the wins and momentum they can get going into the tournament.
  14. I love watching Max swing the bat. Makes it look easy most of the time.
  15. We kinda saw some of it with the Return of The Jedi and the little Ewoks. It’s ironic he says that now with the two best films from each trilogy leaning in the more adult/darker direction.
  16. It’s weird. I always felt like when one of George’s ideas didn’t land with the older audiences, he would use it as his scapegoat.
  17. Trade federation and a political blockade? George really nailed “Star Wars is for kids”
  18. Hell yeah Gaspo, nice way to end the series with a sweep! Hat tip to Keith and Greg 🤘
  19. More than likely not. O’Dowd did a hell of a job at the plate but glad we subbed there.
  20. Yeah this is where I’m at with the two. In the field, I do think Dee is quicker in his footwork/movements. At the plate Dee shouldn’t over think it this year and just focus on putting the ball in play and making stuff happen with his speed.
  21. I agree and we have a salty lineup that when hot can be deadly. I could see them upsetting a regional host but it has to be in 3 games. Or I can easily see us go 0-2. That’s just the nature of this team.
  22. Lando!!! Happy that he got his first win Danny taking an absolute nose dive from quali on is baffling. Total opposite for Yuki tho, heck of a drive from him.
  23. Apparently fudged the tires. But 18th? That’s pretty bad.
  24. Maybe instead of a sponsorship name on the back of the car, they should put constantina in bold letters. That should help him.
