  1. Thanks and I agree. If his defense gets better the infield should be in good shape.
  2. Has anyone heard how Flores is doing?
  3. For the BYU game the snap count per Scipio was Williams 46, Taaffe 36, Thompson 31, and Crawford 21. Crawford being the lowest and still too many snaps. He is easily one of the most athletic guys on the team but all that goes out the window when you have no clue what to do when the ball is snapped. Taaffe is probably the smartest safety we have at the moment and the coaches seem to be going with the thought that it’s easier to game plan with a guy that knows what to do rather than a more athletic guy who doesn’t. Fair. What I don’t understand is those guys have been here for a decent amount of time and the staff knows exactly who they are at this point. They went and got Catalon which was good but he’s made of glass. Considering all that, why would you not cross train the guys you mentioned, Jordan, Barron, and Guilbeau during the spring/summer? It seems straight forward in what should have been done. To you point about rotation, I also don’t understand what they’re doing. Choate brought along Hill slowly with a couple of hiccups along the way but now he’s all over the place. His snap count compared to Gbenda is where it should be and will only grow. Joseph seemed to get the memo with MM as well, tho Watts getting injured might have helped too. Wtf is Gideon thinking with Crawford should be getting 20 snaps? Is it all on Gideon or is some of the blame fall on PK as well?
  4. Some stuff on the fall WS.

  6. They actually moved him on the other side and put Brooks in the boundary. I believe after that he was pulled, so one play after the mess up.
  7. Makes you wonder where Neto is in his pass pro.
  8. As a proud member of the Danny Ric fan club I’m all over todays quali. Probably regress to the mean and back down to earth tomorrow.
  9. Kansas isn’t a bad unit. Ultimately, you’re still right tho. And it does sting a bit more knowing that they barely beat us even with the turnovers.
  10. The game against us is looking like an outlier. Played meh against Cincinnati/Iowa st and played bad against smu, ucf, and Kansas. They are not a top 10 team at all.
  11. Watching Connor pull is the softest thing I’ve seen in a while. The one on the goal line was bad.
  12. He looked raw still and too many back foot throws. The talent is evident tho
  13. I was close @gmr548. Bean was able to get it done.
  14. Ewers uncharacteristically turning the ball over against OU and then turning around to go 18/18 (the obvious no call PI on worthy ruining it) was an “it” moment for me. A lot of guys would crumble after doing what he did in with the turnovers. Last year ewers probably does fold but he didn’t which says a lot about his determination to be the best player this year for his team. Like you said with the Ash quote, the “it” factor in a qb can be stupid when all that matters is if he wins ball games.
  15. Sorry if this has already been discussed in depth, I’ve really only been scanning the thread for large upvotes or links. But, I find the lone wolf theory to be hilarious because it makes absolutely no sense. Any Michigan coach with an IQ above room temperature would look around and simply asks the guy how he’s so good at stealing the signs. He can’t be at multiple places at one time, the opponents signs are not on film, and it’s impossible to get anything from watching the games on tv. This is why it looks so bad on the Michigan coaching side of things because they either completely ignored what he was doing or aided in the elaborate scheme. Obviously it is the latter but which ever version you choose, the coaches were complicit in the scheme. You also cannot equate it to the bag game in the sense of coaches “turning a blind eye.” Tennessee can hand out as many McDonald’s bags full of cash but they still have to coach and put those players in positions to win on game day. Michigan was actively hurting the integrity of the game day experience to their own unfair advantage.
  16. It would be better imo if you made these gifs instead of still shots. Maybe do a still shot with arrows pointing to assignments and then a gif of the play underneath.
  17. No it definitely is. He was in the rotation on the dline and has flashed a bunch. Edit: before injury of course
  18. Kansas st should be a fun game to watch. They are probably the best oline that we will see and their entire offense is dependent on the running game. They’re best unit versus our best unit.
  19. Ewers and Brooks were getting for sure 8 yards almost each check down. Give me that all day
  20. Him being athletic out of the pocket can help with his shortcomings as a freshman in the offense. Ewers is a straight line type of runner. He does really well though which is a testament of him wanting to be better overall (5 tds isn’t easy). Last year he was below average. The difference between Ewers and Manning is that Manning is more natural running with the ball. He can receive hits and cut up field better than Ewers.
  21. The problem runs deeper than what we’re seeing on game days. PK is a pretty good DC but some of the guys in the secondary have been here for a bit now and are just not getting it done. The Crawford experiment should have been over a long time ago, Taffe was a walk on for a reason, and Thompson is just plain slow and you can’t teach speed. Where is Allen or LTG? Are those guys misses? I love the physicality and proven ability Catalon brings but he has an unfortunate history with injury’s. To me the safety position seems like it was misguided and we are in this position because of it.
  22. You’re right. I think it points to the fact that our secondary doesn’t give us a lot of options in trying to help their faults.
