  1. Utah HS FB is less than competitive because of the sad lack of Black people in that region of the country. The line play is pretty darned good - like Hawaii and for much the same reason. Fillinger is playing really well and it's not because he's just overpowering smaller and weaker players. That's not usually going to be an issue when you like up across from dudes with names like Vaka'afi, Saleapaga, Suamataia and Aiono. That Orem OL reminds me a lot of Trinity HS in Euless or Kahuku on the N Shore of Oahu.
  2. This game seems to be on local TV in DFW. Ch. 24 KTXD.
  3. When Jimbo was her starter (really more of a setup man) you can see why she'd feel the need for 3-4 "situational relievers" some nights.
  4. That would give "aggyfact" a whole new meaning...

    Malcolm Roach

Certainly explains why the staff is so comfortable using him as a NT in obvious passing situations.
  6. Why? Is Kardell Thomas going to eat him as part of his rehab?
  7. Apparently somebody at ESPN reads Surly or follows thujone. Found this gem while reviewing the 7 OT game to assess LSU's performance:
  8. Just think of it as Tom Herman's Underground Railroad.
  9. Waffle House? Wasn't that the James Clavell novel about trailer park aristocracy in the Deep South?
  10. Inquiring minds want to know just how he consummated his professionalism.
  11. It's like the classic propaganda-communique from the Spanish Civil War: "Our forces advanced today without losing a single foot of ground."
  12. One healthy OG from the 2-deep doesn't sound good.
  13. People who don't realize that it's 2019. 20-30 years ago it was common to label a SS who played down near the LOS regularly as a Rover. Some folks just haven't kept up with the preferred nomenclature changing.
  14. Doesn't awkward and funny pretty much sum up Gundy?
  15. I'm a little surprised at that. LSU has always run a 1-gap scheme up front and the entire point of that is to penetrate those gaps. They didn't do badly in creating sacks last season and were pretty good at generating TFLs also. If I were Orgeron changing the play of the OL would be a MUCH higher priority than that of the DL.
  16. I'm pretty sure this is one of the troubleshooting procedures when aggy has trouble filling the jar.

  18. The past couple of weeks on Surly. Has anyone found Longhorn Lawyer's body yet?
  19. Why would I give the truth a rest? Because it hurts your sandy vag? LSU faced the top offense ZERO times. They did get #6 once. That was comparable to the 3rd toughest game the TEXAS defense faced. You're entitled to your own opinions but not your own facts. If you want to stick around here, learn to separate fact from mythology. The 2018 stats you seem proud of were accumulated against Rice, SE Louisiana, LA Tech and (7-6 against a pathetically soft schedule) Miami. LSU plays a tougher schedule this year but we have no stats for 2019 yet. They will get credit if they produce against that harder slate.
  20. How many times did Aranda face the obvious #1 offense in the country? Orlando did it twice. He also faced #8, #10, #12, #22 in conference. And unlike the SEC stats there was very little padding from FCS and much less from lower tier G5 opponents. Get rid of that fat from crappy OOC scheduling and a lot of the SECx3 mythology dies. Aranda also had the luxury of facing a bunch of poor and one dimensional offenses in conference. I think only KU and maybe KSU meet that description in the Big XII.
  21. Something Ritz Bits. Something something (crystal) balls to the face. Something Candi.
  22. Fitzgerald is not a dual threat. He's a single threat to run. He's a TERRIBLE passer. Even so, he ran for 7 YPC even though LSU was able to load the box against it. It's going to be funny to watch Sam against 5-6 in the box instead of Fitzgerald vs 7-8. I have no idea where you think Tua got 3.3 YPC. He had 3 carries for 49 yds vs LSU. If you don't have a calculator handy that's over 16 YPC, even including the one sack for 5 yds that properly belongs to the passing game. UCF also didn't have a dual threat. Maybe a worse passer than Fitzgerald and that's saying something. He ran the ball 6 times into a loaded box for 45 yards. We don't like aggy but that doesn't mean we lie about them. Mond isn't that good as either a runner or passer but decent at both. Decent runner had 16 carries for 80 yards and picked up 6-7 1st downs and a critical TD rushing. That's giving up a lot to someone mediocre at both threats.
  23. Today's holdout report has CB Fulton, RB Edwards-Helaire and 2 others out. Those 2 are S Delpit and one of their best pass rushers Chaisson - both of whom have been out for most or all of LSU's fall camp. ILB Starks and JUCO DE Fonua appear to be on hold with the clearinghouse still.
  24. Wait. You don't think "Come here and be part of the #106 ranked passing defense and even that is overrated because we play so many bad QBs" is an attractive pitch to DBs?
