  1. Bottom line is she presided over many years of mediocrity at historically successful Texas women's programs. If her culture of failure were not enough, she has also frequently undermined the men's athletic programs as well.
  2. He's probably was bigger at his FB playing weight as a HS junior than OU's Striker was as a college upperclassman.
  3. We are all a little katfid from time to time. Solidarity brother.
  4. Yeah. Beck didn't have the same acceleration after the injury. He still got wide open through good technique and scheme at times. He reminded me of a phrase from LaVell Edwards describing his WRs at BYU: "They've got deceptive speed. They're even slower than the look..."
  5. "In the long run we're all dead" ---John Maynard Keynes
  6. Damn! Dorbah is like smoke. The OL tries to engage with his hands, and Dorbah just isn't there. He's gonna make some OL look like the Keystone Kops.
  7. Nice to see Samples' name so prominently from a recruit. Understudy to BC stepping up to allow Texas to spread the love.
  8. Usually thread shitting is just an expression...
  9. Teaching determination and effort are of supreme importance in team sports. Kids learn that they can push themselves past what they think their limits are, that they have more to give than they realize. It reinforces the work ethic culture and instills confidence. The coaches prove they have a better handle on how much the kid can accomplish than he does himself. When they tell the kid he can beat the guy lined up against him and the team ranked higher than his, that kid is gonna believe.
  10. aggy delusions force them to focus on the area providing them their Narrative du Jour while blocking out all other relevant data. That is a crippling weakness that prevents effective analysis. To support their delusion of SECSEC superiority they focus on the size / speed of the athletes and the recruiting ranking that brings - but selectively ignore the same for Texas (and by implication OU as well). This blinds them to 2 critical and decisive factors: 1) Big XII teams have a broad base of really good coaching. Patterson and Gundy have been taking 3 star and a few 4 star athletes forever and turned them into teams that can compete with the big boys. You can now add Matt Campbell to that list though we're losing the Purple Wizard and Holgorson. Tom Herman and Lincoln Riley are following the same coaching formula but inputting masses of 4-star and 5-star talent. 2) SEC athletes look impressive on paper but often don't perform on the field. This is especially notable on offense where they tend to be crippled by weak, outdate schemes and poor coaching. We saw this with Georgia. Their massive OL could block but struggled with penetration from quick defenders all along the front because they were slow footed. Their WRs were strong and very fast but they often could not make catches in traffic and dropped several balls outright. They were unreliable at their main job and that was a drive killer. Their SEC-leading QB was frequently confused by disguised coverage because he was used to simple reads and his athletes getting wide open against lesser talent. So there really is the self-perpetuating delusion of SEC dominance compounded with the SEC athletes meme. The regular beatdowns that the SEC elite handed out to OU for many years just reinforced this smug, insular world view and allowed them to ignore the underlying issue by pointing to scoreboard. It's much harder to ignore now after the Texas Longhorns' dominance humping of the SEC's #1B team Georgia and the sweep of the SEC by every Big XII bowl match up not named OU.
  11. Not a breakaway runner but someone most teams would love to have on their roster. My main concern would be the amount of wear and tear that Aledo's offense puts on a back. Kid might have 1,000 carries by the time he graduates. We saw what that can mean with Johnathan Gray.
  12. Sounds like OU is starting to get questions about their defensive production from OOS recruits - specifically from Cali. We all saw they were crap and questions are warranted. But now RJ Young from OU Insider is starting to lecture fans that they better hope these top rated kids that the fan base is criticizing pan out. Sounds like he's pinned all his hopes on Grinch being a huge upgrade at DC. Seems quite optimistic to me when the guy has had one decent defense in 4 years as a DC but excessive optimism is the hallmark of fandom I suppose. "If you don't get anything out of Bookie (@Huckleberry's favorite okie DB Brendan Radley-Hiles) you're going to start to see California recruiting dry up." "If this doesn't get better in the next couple of years, you're going to see it reflected in recruiting."
  13. At that place OG probably stands for Ovine Gangsta.
  14. "Ah jist caint quit yew." Awesome!
  15. So you got nothing for dudes that don't give a shit?
  16. Because the formatting was clearly the worst thing about that post. 🙄
  17. But it makes perfect sense. You just have to frame it in terms of their (student) body image issues and the eternal institutional penis envy that drives them.
  18. Pity the OL trying to stop T-Vondre from bull rushing the passer.
  19. If they don't put pressure on Jake Fromm (narrator: they won't), he will rip their pathetic secondary to shreds.
  20. Ouch. Dude is never going to live that one down.
  21. Since aggy thinks past is prologue, they paid that for a guy who already proved he could lose to Tom Herman even with a huge talent advantage in his favor.
  22. Just goes to show that you can't buy class or status - not even if you spend $75 million (plus whatever they paid for Rumlin's buyout).
  23. One of two good things to come out of Canada, the other crown royal. They will NEVER make up for Celine Dion.
