  1. Very true. 404 Tite Front is predicated on shutting down all of the interior gaps with minimal numbers. A-gaps get the NT+2 LB triangle. B-gaps have the 4i techs planted firmly in them. When a team puts 2 TEs on the field, they create 2 new interior gaps as the C-gaps are now inside of them. You can use the Buck LB to squeeze one C-gap so the front is fine against 11 personnel. When an offense goes to 12 personnel, you're trying to do the same thing on the other side with a NB in Texas' base 3-3-5. Not good to have that guy taking on a TE every running play. If you can use a LB/S hybrid like Orlando did with Jason Hall in 2017, that can work. Perhaps Overshown can be a more athletic version of that guy in 2019.
  2. Guess they picked a bad week month year decade generation century to stop sniffing glue...
  3. Isn't that the online version of "if you have to ask, you can't afford it?"
  4. Translation: "If you ever want to see the rabid, mangy hyena again, hand over the money."
  5. Yeah, Riley wouldn't want him spilling all of those secrets that made the Sooner Defense so successf... ...screw it. I can't type that with a straight face.
  6. That begs the question. Did the coaches really want to replace Vahe? Or perhaps go in a different direction?
  7. Pretty sure Okafor RS'ed in 2018. Should be a RS Jr for 2019.
  8. Dear aggy, That light at the end of the tunnel? It's a train. That is all. Sincerely, CFB
  9. Texas signed one of the best recruiting classes in the nation in back to back years. Tom Herman has a great start on a 3rd class that is equal to or better than the last 2. The lies aggy have to tell each other to get through the day are just amazing.
  10. "Settle it behind the school" probably isn't what you want in HS principal. This sort of termination of employment seems a bit extreme though.
  11. Yep. We've got bigger fish to fry. Sticking a thumb in aggy's eye would be emotionally satisfying but it's more important to build the best possible Longhorn team.
  12. Make sure you bring outside pressure to squeeze the C-gaps. Then even a little middle penetration can unlock the entire front. Just remember to watch for the RPO, Those backside hooks can be a PITA.
  13. First rule of asymmetric warfare: Never allow the enemy to feel safe, anywhere or anytime.
  14. It depends. Did Looch and "the boys" stay at the Artisan?
  15. When a QB loses 90% of his games, he generally loses his job too. Gabbert played behind the same OL. He played in fewer games and won more of them than Kaepernick, even in 2016. You're right that Gabbert was a poor QB. You're ignoring the fact that Kaepernick was even worse.
  16. Glad you liked it. When I worked in tech investing, my handle was Speaker to Engineers since I could talk to them in their language and then distill it down for intelligent laymen like my bosses. There's so much good stuff out there but most of it has so much detail it becomes intimidating. Most people just want to know the answers to the highlighted questions in the OP. Easiest way to explain the size/speed trade off to the casual fan is that TCU has fielded one of the best run defenses in the nation from base nickel (4-2-5) for over a decade using talent that the big boys didn't want.
  17. What part of Gabbert had a better year than Kaepernick didn't make sense? We have no idea what the settlement consists of. I'm simply pointing out that Colin Kaepernick lost his job with his play on the field. Losing 90% is generally a firing offense for a QB or a coach.
