  1. I know women who basically remove their eyebrows and pencil in a new one. It's like she did that but with her whole face.
  2. Since it’s recruiting season and the only time aggy actually competes with Texas anymore I put together a few random thoughts on Jimbo’s first year as a sheep shagger. aggy is excited that they will (probably) finish with a top 5 recruiting class for 2019. They seem to have tossed 2017 down the memory hole. Jimbo has demonstrated that he is capable of posting a losing record with FOUR such classes: #4, #3,#3 and #6. Of course the indications are that he’s peaked and 2020 will be a big step down. We may get an early indication by the relative strength of closes for the 2019 with NSD2 next week. Looks like we've Survived the Surge(TM). And recruiting is historically the little guy’s strong point. Baggins left behind a huge mess at Tallahassee on the Offensive Line. And he seems to be continuing that turdition at aggy. With a (reasonably) mobile QB, they gave up 35 sacks in 13 games which is turrible, jist turrible. The aggy OL also surrendered 89 TFLs. Texas didn’t do a great job but gave up 14 fewer TFLs and 9 fewer sacks while playing against a tougher schedule with the Big XII CG adding an extra contest. Any aggy “success” running the ball is an illusion created by their weak schedule. Take out 500 yds against FCS Northwestern State and slightly less ridiculous padding vs UAB and UL-M. You’re left with 3.47 YPC vs SECSEC and 4.3 YPC against P5 competition. IOW, they performed considerably worse running against the SEC average than Texas did vs the SEC Elite. Jimbo has a rep for developing QBs. I’m not really on board since it was mostly recruiting rather than development. Mond DID look better this year but he got a full year under his belt and was still sub-par. 57.5% completion percentage is really bad – especially when a team throws as many screens and hitches as aggy. Think of what I said about Jake Fromm. Take away all the positives except for some arm strength. Throw in a modicum of running ability. That is what aggy is stuck with at QB. Then there is the clown show of aggy pass defense which ranked #106 in the nation. This harkens back to the good old days of the Dixie Chicks Defense and the Wide Open Spaces in their secondary. Jimbo took over a very bad pass defense and actually managed to make it WORSE. The fact that this bumbling was done against the primitive passing attacks of the SEC is a true embarrassment. The one area of true strength for aggy was run defense. They were very good even if you discount performances over G5 and FCS. On the one hand their defensive front is mostly gone after this year. On the other hand this is one area where recruiting can really help a team and Jimbo recruited well here. Gripping hand those recruits rarely contribute much as true freshmen so aggy is pretty much guaranteed to be down next year with a good shot to improve thereafter. I’ll leave the cuck commentary to the professionals. There is plenty of football related grist for smack to lay down on aggy. But the sheeple of Collie Station are convinced they are on the verge of greatness. All they need is a string of "nattys" to be considered a top 3 program. The crash from this high should be epic.
  3. It shows in the results too. Their pass pro was hideous: 35 sacks in 13 games when you have a mobile QB is terrible.
  4. Mixed bag IMHO. Good: footwork, esp his bucket step in zone; balance in pass pro; ability to locate 2nd level defenders in space Potential issues: combo blocking, he almost always cuts the second man which might be a balance problem; gets grabby at the shoulders trying to sustain blocks (keep that crap inside the frame); not seeing much finish at the whistle (could be editing).
  5. They prefer to keep that stuff on the DL. Well except for their Village People milkmen.
  6. Allen and Tomball both in the space of a couple days. I think Tom Herman has a message for aggy and okie.
  7. More like this:
  8. You could always PM him and ask...
  9. When Tom Herman gets Texas to the CFP, aggy's answer will be a whole six pack of Natty Light.
  10. You can see there might be some confusion here. Their headbands look EXACTLY the same...
  11. Wow. I've seen Johnny Depp look more responsive and lucid.
  12. 1,000 pages here we come. Thanks Katfid
  13. Spread offenses are driving the hybridization of defense to deal with it. There are still traditional players required at some positions: NT and MLB for example. But we now see hybrid DE/LBs filling in the edge of 4-man fronts. We've got hybrid LB/S in the box (dime) safety and often nickel back/SLB position as well. Even NTs have gotten smaller in order to apply pressure against the pass. 10 years ago Bama started a 360+ lb slow run stopper at the nose. This year the position was filled by a 295 lb athlete.
  14. Yuh. Buh wee ain't SECSEC. Bayg heel tuh clamb gittn keeds outa thar. Wud tayk grate 'crootin fer tu ta win thet wun.
  15. That's a good call. The aggy visitor / commitment wish list has a lot of bread in it and I should have quoted that to make the point. The guys you cites are definitely more in the bad 'shroom category.
  16. It MAY limit the candidate pool somewhat. The 2 we got last year were from Rice and Cal. The one being talked about most this year is from Georgia Tech.
  17. Jimbo's at the all you can eat churrascaria (State of Texas) and he's filling up on bread and salad - especially bread. He's desperate to create the illusion of momentum around his 2020 recruiting trying to follow up on 2019. But his strategy of offering early and often are no longer a surprise and he looks increasingly boxed in.
  18. They didn't lose the interview. They just ran out of required skills.
  19. The NCAA is the TSA of college athletics: Enforcement Theater.
  20. Zackly. RB is one of the positions where true freshman have always been able to come in and have an immediate impact. No reason to rush when an experienced player could come in on the same timeline.
  21. Nice article from this past season discussing the emerging counter-trend in the Big XII led by Texas and Iowa State but also including Baylor. Power spread rushing attacks as the answer to the Air Raid - which is a sufficiently potent attack that you have to address it on BOTH sides of the ball. The Bash bros are coming for the Raid bros Tom Herman often speaks of the importance of the TE. It's absolutely critical to get production from that position and replacing Beck is an big priority for next year. Also I was one of those people watching tight zone run and mistaking it for Zone Read. The QB keeper is only a constraint if the slot defender crashes down hard. So basically it's a 95% inside zone play to the RB with a built in counter rather than an option play in the traditional sense. It's a great article and there's a bunch more meat in there. Hopefully this discussion will help us get through the long offseason.
  22. Good to see that some kids recognize that 'lil bro' is in Collie Station...
  23. aggy talking about "little man syndrome" while fluffing Jimbo is beyond absurd.
  24. With as many spare tires their line recruits are carrying around that one won't fly.
