  1. True. But he described Riley as a good dude. When he talked about Tom Herman, he also was very enthusiastic about the Texas Defense and his potential role in it. OU's got nothing to sell on that front other than "you would make us suck less."
  2. The NFL is all about $$$. It's pretty rare that a player becomes an immediate star - usually take a year or two to put their stamp on the game and for fans to notice. For a lot of RBs that means they are halfway through their career by the time they become big stars. The longer careers of QBs and WRs mean they have much greater marketing value to an NFL franchise. Not only can they be the face of the franchise several times longer than a typical RB. They also don't have to reinvest every 2-3 years in creating a brand for a new guy at the position. Lower investment expense. Longer payout period. More time to build mindshare for your product. It's a huge difference in ROI.
  3. Not on the short list. But aggy is always on the short bus...
  4. Every team that is ranked higher has more commits than Texas. Only 4 of those teams have a higher average player ranking. That is utterly ridiculous when Texas has focused on getting OL and the degree to which recruiting services tend to rank them low. It's going to be insane once the proportion of skill players and defense (who tend to get higher ratings) in the class rises.
  5. The prophecy is fulfilled. "So I will shake the heavens, and the earth will shake loose from its foundation, because of the fury of the LORD who commands armies, in the day he vents his raging anger." --- Isaiah 13:13, NET
  6. I'm normally not a big fan of RomComs but I'll make an exception here.
  7. Interesting. With Urban gone, Day may be the head coach but not the obvious heir to Meyer's success at tOSU. Frankly, Tom Herman has just as good a claim as Ryan Day.
  8. The state of Oklahoma produces so little elite talent. I suspect that even when there is a comparable in-state player, the OU staff would rather keep an OOS talent pipeline open than take a kid from a school they won't recruit again for 20 years, if ever. It's a terrible way to represent their state but there's little downside to snubbing the HS coaches and players in Oklahoma.
  9. Beating elite SEC head to head is a thing now.
  10. I gotta give Riley the benefit of the doubt on WR talent. The numbers of early commits at the position seem a bit much though. Maybe they're trying to create the impression of momentum to get the defensive players and linemen that are more urgent needs in Norman.
  11. When muledick just isn't enough...
  12. The contrast between videos incidentally highlights the difference between the 2 programs. The Texas workout videos are of players going about the business of getting stronger while their teammates around them do the same. It's a about effort, hard work and repetitive, slow and painful building of a program through the efforts of many players - few of which are household names and some of them never will be. OU produced a look at me hype video. It focuses on their highest profile guy doing a single rep, max lift to impress people with his strength - which was actually acquired elsewhere. That comports perfectly with OU's long history of bringing in mercenaries to man their team. The rest of the squad isn't lifting or working; they're standing around watching and cheering for the guy getting the hype. It's flash and bragging vs grit and hard work.
  13. It could become a serious issue in 2020 when Herman's first full recruiting class are RS sophomores. No one reasonably expects RS freshmen to become starters on the OL and true freshmen are not an issue with OL now RS'ing as a matter of course. If Herman continues to bring in a single grad transfer per year it's hard for me to see this being a big problem.
  14. Needs a last name for a middle name, hyphenated last name and a numeral at the end to maximize the HP potential. Say Finnegan Prescott Corwin-Fahey III
  15. Couple that with the fact that they needed 2 OT games to fall their way just to keep the numbers of losses at 4. Plus the extra win from being matched with an unranked team in a lower tier bowl whose best players on both offense and defense sat out for fear of injury. 2018 version of aggy looked like more of the same with a little luck thrown in.
  16. 2018 ratio of touches for aggy's #1 RB vs #1 WR was 6:1.
  17. Is that what they call criminal extradition in Nebraska?
  18. Why just focus on Bank. Maybe they should work the head a little bit...
  19. If that's the competition, you can see why even a much worse superhero edit than that kid is doing would draw a relieved "oh thank God" at a minimum.

  21. So he only counts sheep until he falls asleep. Afterwards he dreams of burning couches.
  22. We're talking OL here, not QB. Different body parts for different positions - obviously...
