  1. You could win a lot of bar bets that if we bust a wide run for more than four yards, there’ll be a holding penalty.
  2. Most likely. At any rate, what have we seen from Venables that suggests he can make a good hire? I mean, he could get lucky but he doesn’t seem to know how to hire an offensive staff at all.
  3. I know a guy who knows some of the Sooner Scoop guys and that’s what he said
  4. Not arguing—I’m constitutionally incapable of conflict—just wanted to say thanks for providing a helpful qualification to my “yes.”
  5. I think my point when I asked was that they don’t really wear lower body pads any more even in games (or just thigh pads), so in fall camp when it’s shoulder pads and helmets only, how’s that different than the games? Anyway, somebody explained that the players call those days “Winnie the Pooh” because they truly just wear shorts with shoulder pads/helmets.
  6. Yes. Also, don’t sweat asking this. Back in the summer I asked if shoulder pads only actually meant shoulder pads only. Someone humored me.
  7. I went to B&E on an NYC trip about 5 years ago on your rec. Thanks again homie
  8. What I love about the guy is he will have the opp defense dialed in about 2-3 series. So even if their D has a good game plan, this mofo will adapt quickly, and he has the personnel to do it. (Contrast with game against TCU in 2022 where QB and o-line limited him.) Such a contrast with Mack, Herman and their OCs (Strong didn’t even have game plans)…dude is out there like a savant just diagnosing the other D in about 10-12 plays.
  9. On the IT YouTube today with Wells he suggested the opposite—that Sanchez has been committed to OSU forever and it’s highly unlikely, but Sark wants to shoot his shot.
  10. This source is very reliable But Also take it for what it’s worth Bet this guy was class valedictorian at Shawnee or Pawnee or some other backwoods burg
  11. That was great reading, super insightful. I appreciated how you explained the sort of virtuous cycle between results/outcomes, social acceptance, and individual commitment. Learned something new today!
  12. LDR in college gotta succckkkkk. Upside is, he can focus on ball.
  13. Brent Venables likes Lincoln Riley’s brisket. That is not an innuendo.
  14. Scipio Tex has said a big difference between this year’s D and last year’s is that a lot of last year’s was driven by individual dudes making plays, whereas this year’s is coherent, cohesive, connected at all three levels, whatever co- word you prefer. As successful as the outcome and results were, and things still did largely seem cohesive, today was the first game where some individual efforts really made the difference vs a systematic effort. Simmons stands out, the VB strip sack, Jahdae on a couple pass break ups. There was also some poor technique that got taken advantage of. Everybody’s favorite badass Anthony Hill parted the sea for the TD on his blitz; Simmons got upfield a time or tea and then didn’t play the puller correctly a time or two. Anyway, lots to correct there. Overall feels great to win a game by 3 TDs at about 60% capacity of the team.
  15. That’s a great point. (No sarcasm) I wonder how I’d feel if Brando/Tillman were switched with Meyers/Lapham for those old games. guess we’ll never know
  16. Not that anyone gives a rank fart, but Meyers calls New Orleans Pelicans games. (I occasionally hear him on the 10-minute YouTube highlight clips I watch, which is mainly how I follow NBA games.) And I agree, he is 100% awesome along with Lapham. Hearing those guys immediately reminds me of some early 2000s random beatdowns of Baylor or Kansas with those two on the call for Fox Sports Southwest.
  17. I got it, it’s worth it. Peace of mind alone, but your point about changing a tire on the side of the highway vs. the driveway is big one. Plus if they ever ride with someone whose battery dies, etc, then your daughter can still use her AAA to get help. You made a good decision. Plus it does help with some rental car and hotel discounts. I just got a AAA discount with Hertz for a weekend traveling with a rental car that paid for a couple months’ of AAA.
  18. Okay, off topic but genuine question because it’s been 2+ decades since I played football. Does “helmets and shoulder pads only” just mean no thigh pads? Because I know they don’t wear knee pads anymore, and I haven’t seen hip/butt pads in years like we used to. I understand that helmets-and-shoulder-pads-only also speaks to the level of contact in practice but I’m asking more out of curiosity. Because on Saturdays it looks like they effective play in helmets and shoulder pads anyway. back to on topic discussion
