  1. It’s why they lean so heavily into CRT, crime, and illegal immigration . The perfect things that they can point to, drum up fear, win elections, then do jack shit about it, blame the democrats, and get re-elected for doing nothing. Their voters just keep getting duped and the cycle goes on and on.
  2. I’m glad that the American public ( from a general sense) realized that the GOP had nothing to offer because they don’t. All they do is pass a tax cut bill and shrug their shoulders at every other problem or issue going on and say “free markets…… trickle down….stock market” blah blah. They don’t do shut but enrich the rich.
  3. As long as potty Patrick runs the state senate, nothing will get done in Texas.
  4. Ohio and North Carolina are trending that way too. It’s disgusting.
  5. I don’t want the GOP to take the house, but you’d have to imagine that a GOP majority of 220 or less would be extremely entertaining and could make them look really incompetent before 2024. It might not be entirely a bad thing.
  6. That finchem guy is scary too. He would have control of the voting in 2024. Shitttt
  7. All the Republican women I know vote that way because thier husband tells them too. The wife of one of my clients gets a piece of paper with instructions on how to vote. Most red southern states are “husband tells wife how to vote” states. Pretty common.
  8. Trouble brewing out west? MAGA bros seem rejuvenated and think Masters can win.
  9. Minnesota seems very confident it will happen in 2023. Hawaii just got rid of their strangely conservative governor and replaced him with one who supports legalization. Delaware passed it in the legislature, but their governor vetoed it. Minnesota and Hawaii will probably get it done in 2023. Delaware is only a matter of time, the governor can’t veto it forever. There are still plenty of wins on the board before it gets difficult. Hopefully the schedule review by the Biden administration makes a big dent in this also.
  10. I read the texags election thread and they are disappointed as fuck. The tears are delicious.
  11. I might watch the next Trump rally just to see his reaction to losing all these races.
  12. He’s already started. Trump knows that he made Desantis and I’m sure he thinks he can destroy him too.
  13. This would have to count as another Trump fuck up if it sticks. Herrera Beutler held that seat down for what seems like forever for the GOP. She lost it because she had an R in front of her name and voted to impeach Trump.
  14. He’s only saying this because Trump has cost them 3 senate races in 2 years.
  15. DeTrumpis was made by Trump “hence the nickname”. He would be nothing without Trump. Some other guy who I don’t even remember was going to win the nomination in Florida without Trump stepping in. As much as we all hate Trump, he has an adolf Hitler like ability to connect with the bottom of the barrel in this country like nobody has ever seen before and it can’t be replicated. Lots of people spend their meager paychecks going all around the country to attend trump rallies. It is like their Woodstock or their hobby or something. These people will not support a geek like Desantis. He doesn’t have the charisma and the moxie that is required to pull it off like Trump has. He probably doesn’t have the energy level and the ability to keep those trashy folks so engaged and willing to crawl over glass to support the GOP like Trump was able to do. With that said, I do think Detrumpis could have a “Beto effect” on some of the suburban women that Beto was able to flip in 2018. He looks nice and has a soft spoken demeanor, he doesn’t insult people, he doesn’t have that toxic personality that turns people off in the suburbs like Trump does. At the end of the day, I think it would be a wash. He would lose the trump base, but he would win some college educated suburban people back. In addition, Republicans aren’t going to the GOP in droves. He can’t replicate that formula nationwide. Desantis has been helped considerably by state optics that are unique to Florida. Old people move to Florida in droves and are doing all they can to keep it red. People from South American countries are doing the same thing. There’s a huge difference between a Hispanic in Nevada / Arizona and a Cuban in Florida. They won’t be able to win over or convince Arizona or Nevada Hispanics with the “socialism” rhetoric and the “democrats will rape your babies in the street” crap that worked so well in Florida.
  16. He once said in a debate or at a campaign rally (not sure which). Hell yes! We’re going to take your guns!. The moment he said that, he was never going to win statewide in Texas. Texas cares more about guns than they do the people who live here.
  17. Peltola should be fine there. Lots of Begich voters won’t vote for palin and vice versa.
  18. South Dakota approves Medicaid expansion. Yet another state who is inferior to Texas in nearly every way making a rational decision that we can’t make. living in a state with no ballot initiative process and a dumb ass legislature is frustrating at times.
  19. Good lord what a fucking idiot! He even throws a smug smile in the middle of the interview that says “hell yeah we’re winning everything”. Would like to see the look on his face now.
  20. CCM is the one that matters. I don’t care if siskolak loses.
  21. Don’t like these late night Republican women on cnn who basically think Trump is Satan and Desantis would basically win all 50 states give me a fucking break.
  22. Great news all around. It’s hard to take anything from the GOP in Wisconsin because everything is so rigged, so I’ll consider that a huge win.
  23. The runoff favors Warnock in just about every scenario. Look at how many voters Kemp got compared to Walker. Lots of Republicans probably showed up to vote for kemp and voted for Walker while they were already at the poll site. I don’t think GOP enthusiasm will be as high with a 1 on 1 race.
