  1. The biggest hypocrite of all? Grover norquist. He sucked up that government aid with a straw for himself and his businesses, but then he turned around and personally wrote a letter to trump while he was president to take away peoples unemployment benefits because those people need to go out, work hard, and put their lives on the line while Grover sits on his fat ugly ass at home and waits it out.
  2. I think Wasserman knows where things are trending. He’s just hedging hard because of history. Some republicans keep assuming that things will get better after Labor Day when people start “paying attention”. we’ll see about that.
  3. Oklahoma didn’t turn down “ free stuff” when a tornado decimated one of their major cities. Texas didn’t turn down “ free stuff” when hurricane Harvey turned Houston into a lake. Representatives from the states listed above voted against hurricane sandy relief for people in the northeast. Ted Cruz used the excuse that the bill was loaded with dem pork, but he lies 99% of the time anyway so who will believe him besides MAGA idiots? The “ hard worker” mentality is generally seen as a positive thing in our culture, but it has its drawbacks. everyone on the internet and probably in real life as well likes to pretend that they are the only ones working their ass off while everyone around them is collecting government checks. They want nobody to get a free ride, but you never truly know your other peoples situation. Would you really want your neighbor who is debilitated with multi sclerosis to be denied benefits or disability if they can’t walk? Probably half of Americans would say screw him and his life choices, but they’re ignorant because MS is an auto immune disease. It’s not your fault if your body literally attacks itself. your average American is very stupid, ignorant, and selfish. It’s sad, but that’s just the way it is.
  4. I bought an obama sign in 2012 when I was still in college and my parents let me put it in the front yard. Our house was located at the corner of our street and was adjacent to this other street that everyone in the neighborhood had to drive on to get to where they live. We also had a dip where people had to slow down with a fire hydrant next to it. I put the Obama sign next to the fire hydrant where everyone would see it when they had to slow down to go thru the dip. Nearly All of my neighbors voted for Romney so I liked that they had to see that sign everyday when they came home from work.
  5. To add to my prior post, it seems like republicans have a lot of low information, low propensity voters now. Watch videos from Trump rallies and most republicans are full blown trumpers now. Most of them are ignorant of the issues, they don’t understand policy, they just love their orange god and want to help him win. When he’s not on the ballot, these folks don’t show up. We’ve seen it in special elections and in 2018. also we have seemingly a constant slow drip of these types of stories coming out. This stuff makes me sick, but politically it serves a purpose and I hope more of these stories come out at least until the votes are counted. At the very least this is not a normal midterm and that’s good for the dems.
  6. Fox News and OAN would show Trumps Nuremberg rallies on their channels.
  7. I’m starting to think the house odds should be closer to 60 / 40 GOP with the possibility of getting to 50/50 or better by Election Day. Biden’s approval is improving and the presidents approval rating is usually tied to house seats, but that correlation doesn’t seem to be very accurate in this election cycle. It can’t hurt tho. there are at least 220 districts further to the left then the district the democrats just won yesterday. Just win those districts and we’re good right? It seems like killing roe v wade has made lots of new people register to vote, and has made lots of democrats eager to vote who would’ve otherwise sat this year out. We don’t know yet how many those people are. We are also seeing independents be much more receptive to voting democrat this cycle than just a few months ago. I think the senate is looking more and more like a dem hold everyday and the house is slowly trending to the left as well. If Biden can sustain the momentum and the dems sell their successes to the public, I wouldn’t rule it out. The only thing that upsets me is gerrymandering. Big losses in Ohio, New York, Florida, Louisiana, and Alabama could limit our ceiling. Dems need to abolish all the bipartisan redistricting committees that only seem to exist in blue states and be out for blood next redistricting cycle. The GOP isn’t going to give us anything, so we need to give them nothing in return.
  8. The Republicans only care about the deficit while we have a democrat president. When we have a Republican president it’s Spend baby spend and drill baby drill.
  9. Need more bad news for the GOP.
  10. I’m glad that the odds in the house are improving tho. This spring it looked like we were dead in the water.
  11. Yeah I just said the same thing pretty much as Wasserman. The courts could loom large this year. What a kick in the nuts.
  12. I posted my disappointment about it in the primary thread, but the Florida / Desantis Gerrymander might be the difference in the house majority if the environment keeps getting bluer. The New York court really hurt, we needed the seats in New York to offset what the GOP did elsewhere. I wish the dems would kill all of their “bipartisan commissions” in blue states because it’s just helping republicans at this point. We need to go for the jugular in California, New York, and Virginia. Give these guys nothing, because they’re clearly drawing out all the dems they can as fast as they can.
  13. Can we start cancelling plans for the red wave? I guess the more rational part of me should say we still have 2 more months of economic reports to get through and there’s rumors of OPEC cutting production which might make gas prices go back up. We need to get to fall blend asap. gas prices could still play a big role in the election.
  14. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/washington-secrets/biden-bottoms-out-pops-back-to-47-approval can we fire up the dark Brandon theme now? 47% approval In Rasmussen is crazy for a dem president.
  15. Need about 2 more months of creepy abortion stories to hit the mainstream media.
  16. When Sean trende is saying something positive about the dems, you know it’s true. The guy seems to have a big Republican bias. Good good news for dems.
  17. It’s probably demand based. I see so many pickup trucks in Texas it’s crazy.
  18. I think the income threshold should be increased to 200K. I do agree that wealthy folks shouldn’t get 10,000 in loans forgiven, but boost the threshold up a bit. I’d love to be wrong, but I think Joe Biden will be the last democrat president in history to oppose marijuana reform. States are still free to update their laws as they were under both Obama and trump, but I just don’t see anything coming federally from Biden on this issue.
