  1. I don’t know how likely it is, but I hope at the very least that all of these morons who stormed the capitol permanently lose their right to vote. We don’t need idiots who believe conspiracy theories and have clearly demonstrated that they would “ jump off a bridge” if president trump told them too voting for people. They don’t have sound judgement and can’t make good decisions.
  2. They literally get off on lying to their base or constituents. After the disastrous 2010 midterm for dems, the GOP rallying cry was “ give us the senate and we will repeal Obamacare!”. After 2014, the GOP rallying cry was “ we need the presidency! Obama has vetoed all 100 of our attempts to veto Obamacare. GOP anger and hate was at its highest. I mean how dare a black president govern with his phone and pen. How dare Obama go against the bullshit that came from their 99% white caucus. In 2016, the GOP had all 3 branches of government and shit the bed. All of the folks who donated to help the GOP win congress and get the GOP to gut Obamacare were duped. In 2018, these same people were totally ok with president trump governing with just a phone and his pen despite getting angry about it just 4 years ago. That’s the sad and pathetic existence of being a GOP donor / Trump voter. You’re constantly lied too by the side that you supposedly trust. The GOP media spends all their time trying to make you angry, pissed off, and a deeply skeptical / bitter person. These people are angry and miserable as fuck even when they win. I guess it’s not surprising that they would go along with something like “stop the steal”. These are exactly the kind of people who are not capable of facing their problems head on and accepting defeat like a man.
  3. I don’t see the Trump raid thing actually getting people to the polls to vote. Trump isn’t on the ballot this year. Those people weren’t going to vote anyway.
  4. Attack ads against hot wheels literally write themselves. Just blame hot wheels for 100’s of Texans dying during the ice storm while skyscrapers in Texas cities were lit up like Christmas trees. Blame him for appointing people who didn’t know how to manage the electric grid. Blame him for the lack of any action on gun reform. Blame him for the sick law we have on abortion. Hit harm hard, often, and don’t let up until after Election Day.
  5. Interesting article from Woodstock ( remember the significance of this place?) https://www.politico.com/news/2022/08/19/red-wave-special-election-00052830 I totally believe it too. Both parties are trying to win. It feels like a big deal. The winner can use it to generate momentum and shape the narrative.
  6. I didn’t bother with the paxlovid. Figured I could just handle it the old fashioned way with sleep and cold medicines.
  7. I had covid in mid July when it seemed like north Texas was getting hit by a massive spike of the new strain. I’m in my mid 30’s and it was my first time to ever get the virus. 99% sure it was BA.5 Omicron. I woke up one day just very tired and it felt like I had a block of congestion in my throat. Very sore throat. I coughed and sneezed a lot on day one. I had mild chills on day one as well. For some reason, I was spared when it came to having a fever. I never had one. days 1-4 were pretty miserable and I stayed in bed all day while sleeping as much as possible. Day 5 is when the congestion finally started to clear. Days 1-12 my energy levels were pretty much shot. I still have a sore throat sometimes even after having the virus about a month ago.
  8. I love it. very smart people talking about current relevant topics. I go here to get my politics, weather, football, and crazy random news fix.
  9. You guys are awesome and better than the news meteorologists.
  10. You seem like you’ve heard this many times before and had a rebuttal saved on your hard drive. It’s enlightening and makes total sense. I was in college during most of the Obama administration and didn’t follow politics as closely as I do now. Thanks for the history lesson. I will use this on the next repub who tries to say it to me.
  11. This tells me 2 things 1) it’s true…. Even if Fox News is saying it and freaking out about it. 2) they are trying to drum up the base. Keep in mind that Trump got all sorts of crazy whackos to turn out and vote for him, but he can’t get those same people to the polls just to vote for house and senate people. Democrats have flipped a lot of the highly educated, politically engaged, people who always vote. Repubs might still have more “ poll zombies”, but the gap has probably been narrowed significantly. also factor in demographics both with the country being more diverse racially then it used to be and lots of old whites dying off and we might be seeing a permanent electorate shift in the dems favor.
  12. Some voting figures from 2020 comparing Supreme Court race to other races: Democrat Cheri Beasley ran 11,258 votes ahead of Joe Biden in the statewide Supreme Court race. Republican Paul Newby ran 62,824 votes behind Donald Trump in the statewide Supreme Court race. Democrat Cheri Beasley ran 125,585 votes ahead of Cunningham. Republican Paul Newby ran 30,353 votes ahead of Tillis. Beasley ran 139,240 votes behind Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper in 2020. The strength of Beasley in 2020 as compared to Cunningham and Biden could be read as a sign that the race in 2022 will be close. Btw : Hope that pussy was worth it Cunningham.
  13. Interesting, but frustrating trip down memory lane. I wish Obama actually wielded his once in a life time loaded house and 60+ senate seat majority to pass meaningful legislation besides Obamacare. They should’ve done more. im so glad Rush Limbaugh is long gone.
  14. I agree with this. The cook reporter might have just been trying to throw the GOP a bone by making them think Colorado is more competitive. Not only is this state getting more blue, but it’s also a vote by mail state. Democrats tend to do better in states which don’t endorse voter suppression.
  15. Colorado used to have worse. Cory Gardner always talked about using his GOP connections to help Colorado with marijuana policy and he got shut down by Mitch McConnell every single time. What a loser.
  16. The Texas GOP willingly let 100’s of people freeze to death in Texas. The GOP is run by a bunch if rich folks who just want to cut their taxes as much as possible and live their private lives as far away from you as possible. They don’t care about you or this country. They never come up with any solutions to solve problems or fix anything. The party is a gaping black hole of conspiracy theories, racism, anger, and hate. The GOP knows that anytime they want to get something done, that a big minority of the country supports, they can just kick it to the Supreme Court and it will happen.

    Insulin

Diabetes fucking sucks. I don’t have it, but have always feared getting it. Watch your weight if you can folks. The bigger your belly, the more chances you have of getting type 2. Stay healthy out there.
  18. I think cook is the most conservative pundit of the well known ones when it comes to calls. Fetterman is probably closer to 10 points ahead instead of 5 if cook gives Pennsylvania a lean D.
  19. Update from cook political. No doubt fetterman is kicking ass in Pennsylvania, but Colorado shifting from likely to lean is kinda weird.
  20. The seat itself doesn’t really matter, but would give dems more momentum if they could somehow pull out a win in Alaska.
  21. This guy really is a fucking scumbag. Even more evidence that the GOP only cares about you if your bank account is in the top 10% of this country. They dupe so many people every election cycle.
  22. Polling doesn’t account for extra marital affairs. We would have a senate seat in North Carolina if Cunningham could just keep his pants on.
  23. They must have not updated their forecast in awhile. Betting markets and 538 give the dems a 60% chance of keeping the senate.
  24. Senate? Not likely at all.
