  1. While I agree with that, it's not just about changing the names or the song, its about folding to the pressure of the mob. Its not a good thing to have weak leadership. If people can just make demands anytime they feel offended about something it becomes a very scary place.
  2. Ive been listening to it since Ive been alive. That doesn't mean I have to agree with every demand they make. A poll of what exactly? I have to show you a poll that says not all black people think the same way? Sorry sir but respectfully look it the fuck up yourself. It won't be hard to find someone with a different opinion. Its not only my claim its just objective reality that not all black people think the same way.
  3. I fail to see how that is relevant to what I said. That doesn't change the fact that they weren't born in Africa. They are Americans. The fact that they are black doesn't constitute people calling them African. So do black people in Canada call themselves African Canadian? How about anywhere else black people exist outside of Africa? Its a term that was shoved down the throat of the American public by Jesse Jackson in the 80's. Not saying it should be banned, its just stupid to refer to people as that when they are generations removed from Africa and most have never been.
  4. What difference will it really make in their own communities issues? This is like me saying hip hop makes me feel discriminated against so we need to erase all the years of an awesome genre of music to make me feel more comfortable. I love hip hop so I would never support that notion but you get my point.
  5. That is so vague. Everyone has a distinctly different experience in this country is not limited to just one group of people and even within that group they have distinctly different experiences. What are they really changing? They are trying to change things that will have no impact on bettering their communities.
  6. Seriously? How old are you? Are you literally of the opinion that every black person thinks the same way about this?
  7. No dude I take personal responsibility for my own behavior but I take none for the actions of those years ago. They aren't the only ones with a voice. They don't have a monopoly on deciding what should happen. How old are you?
  8. Ok and there are quite a few black people that agree with me too and I think they are more reasonable. They don't all think the same way you know.
  9. What the media doesn't tell you is America is the best place on the planet to be black, female, gay, trans or what have you. We have our problems and we need to address those but our society and systems are far from racist.
  10. You literally said the fanbase is a bunch of disgusting white privileged people. Then you wanted to shut down the thread. Yea can't imagine why you would receive backlash for that. Are you kidding me?
  11. I mean your entitled to your opinion some of us just think its a stupid opinion. Just like some people here think mine is. Locking down the thread is what you suggested and people shit on you for it. Deal with it.
  12. This is what idiots say when they want to shut down a discussion because they have nothing to bring to the table.
  13. No its all just about compliance. Its all woke culture. They want you to comply and just listen to what they want you to do. No room for nuance. No room for thinking. Its about only wanting one side to be heard and the other has to shut the fuck up. This isn't compromise or discussion its just flat out mob mentality bs. And even if you change the song, change the names, change whatever they aren't going to feel any better because THE PROBLEMS STILL EXIST! And as long as their is this narrative that America is racist they are set up to believe that every obstacle they face comes from a nameless and faceless group because racism just must be somewhere in the ether. They will never succeed in that environment because you are setting yourself up for excuses when every time you fail its the fault of racism.
  14. Tell me exactly what issue is being addressed by banning songs and demanding names to be changed.
  15. Really? Because I don't see hashtag surlyhorns anywhere in the media or any place that has a national presence. To act like a fan message board is the same is twitter is ridiculous. Twitter only provides a certain amount of characters which leaves out a lot of context. Then people are able to judge and generalize about people based on those limited amount of characters. It has a way more of a presence then surly ever will. Once again, thats a terrible argument.
  16. I can see changes are happening. I don't think most of them have been for the better. Whats your point?
  17. Like Mike Gundy, I could give a rats ass about twitter. I don't have one and refuse to feed into that garbage. Thats a terrible argument.
  18. No one is shouting in their faces. They are the ones doing the shouting. I have listened and will continue to do so but to act like this is getting anything accomplished other than stroking your own ego is preposterous.
  19. How is that inaccurate? Btw Obama said that same thing basically in other terms a few years ago.
  20. No ones asking them to solve all of society's problems. They are being heard and I don't understand how just banning and renaming shit fixes anything. It just pisses people off. They have accomplished nothing.
  21. Really? What are they accomplishing outside of pissing a bunch of people off? They certainly aren't addressing any of the main issues in the black community.
  22. All of this is just a bunch of pussies that want to be heard. And when they get this accomplished they are going to go home thinking they've done a good job. And the same problems are going to exist in the black community that did before and the narrative will continue that America is racist and evil.
  23. No clearly the mob has spoken and it doesn't matter what individuals think about anything anymore. It's just a fascist way of thinking and acting.
  24. So in all of it's years of existence nobody gave a shit about that until now. In fact you should quit using the term African American. Most of them are born and raised Americans and have never been to Africa. I wouldn't call myself German American even if that is my ancestry. Btw a lot of black people were singing right along with the eyes of Texas for years. So this is just more virtue signaling.
