  1. I’ve heard three people, all at least moderate sports fans, say that it’s not where Dion coaches, but where Artis Gilmore played So what can you do?
  2. Outsider’s Perspective: I thought Sark was a terrible hire, mostly because of the alcohol thing. If you’re Texas, you can hire someone with little or no baggage that’s just as good. It may work out eventually for Sark, but I think his background is going to make recruiting harder. If he’s the OC at Alabama, it doesn’t matter. But as the HC at current Texas, you can negative recruit the hell outta him and Del Conte’s decision to bring him in. But I also thought Strong was a great hire and Herman was really good, so what the hell do I know
  3. I thought it wasn’t, but I had to verify that Jacksonville State isn’t in Jacksonville, Florida. It’s in Jacksonville, Alabama
  4. I think that his issues are more under the loosening of academic and behavioral standards, so I don’t think the NIL comes into play. But what the hell do I know. I’ve just heard stuff. He may be cleaner than advertised. He’s has a lot of success early in his career and you know that Hata’s gonna hate
  5. The Carthel’s are mostly from the Greater Lockney/Akin/Floydada metropolitan area. Colby is a great coach, but he has been rumored to do some shady stuff to “acquire talent”. That may keep him from getting a P5 gig. And even if he took over at Tech or Vandy or Kansas or Arizona, he may not be able to use the same tactics to “acquire talent”
  6. That was brutal with a capital Brute. An interesting side note — SFA’s HC, Colby Carthel’s father in law was a high school coach of mine. Two of my teammates and I visited the hospital a few hours after his wife was born between two-a-day practices C/S/B
  7. My wife hasn’t had sex with anyone else but me since we got married 22 months ago Except that night last summer when she was gangbanged by every living member of the Wu-Tang Clan And this past St. Patrick’s Day when she let a minor league hockey team run a train on her But that’s it. She’s mostly been true to me
  8. Maybe your definition of a commuter school is different than mine and most people I know. To me, and I think most people, a commuter student example is someone who grew up in Fort Worth, graduated from Richland High School, lived at home with his folks, and then attended college at UT-Arlington. He commutes from his actual permanent home. That's UCF, UTEP, Houston, Cincinnati, etc. If you grow up in White Plains, NY or a Tampa suburb, or Chicago, go to school at Miami (FL), but live in an off campus apartment paid for by your family and drive a few miles to classes, that's different. That's the majority of Miami students as are kids at UT, Tech, and OU and so on. They aren't Miami area kids. That was just their college destination That's what I was stating. In general, I think you tend to support your college athletic teams more if you moved away from home to go to college you selected instead of just one that was nearby
  9. It's 54% out of state students. It's pretty much the opposite of a commuter school. $50K+ a year to attend. Lots of kids from the Northeast and other parts of Florida. Lots of us Jews head down there to try to blend in with the beautiful people and stay warm. It's a pretty sweet area, too. Coral Gables is the bomb
  10. I'd love to see UNT give him a shot
  11. It’s UofH vs UofH fans One guy said Holgersen is an incompetent alcoholic and the other said he’s worthless drunk and and it escalated from there
  12. Does South Dakota University have a future game scheduled with UTSA? Because they should really set that game up and do that bit
  13. Teenage me catching a real, live glimpse of early 80’s Deborah Foreman would have left quite an impression on me. A memory I would have put to good use
  14. I believe Hoss Cartwright is the Hogs HC
  15. Pretty good movie Really, it is. Check it out sometime
  16. Just checked. They went 11-0 against teams that spent any time at all in the Big 12 that year. So that's pretty much undefeated. Also, it was the 1995-96 season. I used to work with a guy that had a chunk of glass from that backboard. I think he knew a guy that was seated courtside on the base line and was near a trash can where the shards were being discarded. He asked someone if he could grab some and then he gathered some up. He eventually handed them out. The guy I know had his chip of backboard mounted
