  1. Again, Memorial is great, but it’s not walkable. You’ll be lucky to have 1 or 2 walkable restaurants nearby. And there are only 2 dedicated neighborhood bars, Cowboy Surfer and By Popular Demand. I’ll probably get negged to infinity, but I think The Heights is too busy now. I have an acquaintance that lives next door to Cedar Creek and I have no idea how he sleeps. 19th and 20th are basically a less good version of Rainey Street. They dropped a large shopping centers on 11th, 6th, and 34th. I liked the neighborhood better when there were a few bars on White Oak, and you could eat a quiet dinner at Lola and you needed to sign a club membership at Eight Row Flint.
  2. Agreed. By all accounts they asked their boosters to dig deep on NIL in all out effort to beat Michigan in 2024. Didn’t happen. It’ll be a tough ask for 2025. Then again maybe not. These people are insane. “I’d rather Day be 8-56 if it included 4 wins against Michigan.”
  3. That’s a masterclass in mental gymnastics. - Tennessee deserved to be there because they beat Alabama. SMU and Indiana didn’t beat anybody. Also if not Tennessee than who? - fOSU should be embarrassed that Tennessee invaded their stadium. Their fans put Day on the hotseat not ESPN. - fOSU cares too much about the Michigan game. - Sankey had a good plan, but the other commissioners blew it up and we got what we got.
  4. Seconded, on The Woodlands. There’s a ton of stuff to do near Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. You might even be able to walk a few places. Also close to IAH. While it’s pretty great, it’s going to be $20 each way to Uber from Memorial. The Woodlands has a much better bike and hike set up. The Heights, West U and parts of the Montrose are the only truly walkable neighborhoods. If money isn’t a concern, I’d strongly recommend a place with a pool. It makes the summer much more enjoyable.
  5. The season finale was suspiciously good. Like they brought in another showrunner for the finale. The show has a lot of promise.
  6. Watch episode 7.
  7. What are the chances a Tech QB : - Doesn’t transfer. - Plays in the Cotton Bowl. - Plays in the NFL. Odds have to be in the hundreds of millions. Mahomes is their once in a 100 years QB and he was 13-19 at Tech.
  8. Late era RC is my comp for Elko. They’ll spend like crazy at DL and neglect the offense. They’re already somewhat gadgety on offense. I suspect they’ll double down on the next OC hire and run some slow mesh bullshit to save money.
  9. Keep it rolling gang.
  10. I love Hozier’s second song. Well done.
  11. I hope all my Houston people got a bottle of EHT Rye today. It’s terrific.
  12. I didn’t see a single Clemson fan in the stands. Well done wannabe SEC team!
  13. Just dropping in to say Kern is the worst punter history of the program and should be cut.
  14. Anybody travel with their dogs from Texas to NYC? I’d love to take the girls for a walk in Central Park. I need: - Airline suggestions - Near the park hotel friendly suggestions. - NYC pet lodging options.
  15. Batman Returns is a straight up Christmas movie. I watched today, so Level 1. What was life like in November in 1990 when Home Alone came out? I’m too young to remember. Seems pretty glorious. A suburb dad can afford to take his family of 15 to France. Carson is still on the air. John Candy is still alive. Air travel seems pleasant.
  16. SOC’s QB is white. My brain hurts.
  17. Tomato, tomahto.
  18. Good luck to the unwashed masses. I have a strategy I’ll share on the evening of the 28th.
  19. Specifics weren’t provided. The guy behind the counter looked to be homeless last time I was in there. Store pick selections are pretty skimpy in Houston right now.
  20. Roma Discount Liquor on Antoine is closed. I asked around town. “Dude was doing some shady shit. They closed.”
