  1. You can’t do shit anymore with a business per diem, but BT remains my go to at most steakhouses. They usually price BT pours under $12, and it pairs well with steak, pork and lamb chops. Maybe you walk into a nice pick. Most places can’t make a bourbon cocktail to save their lives, so it’s a safer and cheaper choice.
  2. I’ll bet 50 surly bucks that Simmons was 45 minutes into an emergency podcast to bitch about Kerr’s rotations before Team USA came back. They needed Embid’s scoring today, but he’s burnt toast on defense unless he’s standing directly under the basket defending a lay up. He can’t defend any switches or pick and rolls. Best of luck Morey.
  3. Look who’s back. BT’s rye is really good too, Sazerac. Look for store picks, they usually have a gold sticker. Usually better than your standard bottle and around the same price.
  4. I love Casino. Great movie. One of the best of the 1990’s. But as we saw in The Irishman, Scorsese doesn’t give a shit about the truth. He just wants to make art. By many, many first hand accounts The Ant (Nicky in the film) was a gentleman and never cursed, drank, or did drugs, at least in public. This comes straight from waiters, bartender, and casino employees that regularly interacted with him. Rosenthal (Ace in the film) was an abrasive, chain smoking asshole. Many of the same first hand sources. There’s also widespread speculation that Rosenthal was a FBI informant. The files released after his death, well they don’t make him look good. But Rosenthal survived and sold his story to Nicholas Pileggi. The Henry Hill car wash treatment. The book is terrific, more honest, and focuses on the skim/ FBI investigations instead of the Sam-Ginger- Nicky love triangle. One thing that was true, Geri (Ginger in the movie) was a piece of ass.
  5. Spilotro Bros were beaten to death in a basement. They pissed a lot of people off. The Outfit’s Administration were allegedly present a because they wanted to watch. Aiuppa (Remo in the film) was pretty blood thirsty so I’ll buy it. The cornfield was a botched burial. I believe the crew assigned to dispose of the bodies all got clipped. Chicago didn’t fuck around back then. I think Chicago was willing to put up with a lot of shit because Tony’s West Coast Crew was large and pretty fearsome, but when he wanted to start a war back home, that was the final straw. Dorfman got whacked in 1983. Spilotro in 1986. Scorsese is making a film, so he can do what he wants to tell his story. I’d love to see an Ant West Coast film. He basically ran Phoenix, LA, San Diego, and Vegas from the early 1970’s to his death in the mid 1980’s.
  6. I didn’t love it. We never see Keaton as a competent hitman. Movie starts with him being a disaster and trying to work around it.
  7. I feel bad for Canyon, but Jack is going to give him another shot for opies. Seems coherent and competent. I think he’ll beat it and come back.
  8. Kikuchi’s translator makes me nervous. Because reasons.
  9. What’s his pro comparison again? 247 seems to have removed it from their recruiting profiles.
  10. I’m not making excuses for GOTD. Fully clothed brothels wouldn’t happen anywhere, including Ridayh. Some tittles in the background won’t break them. That said common complaints actresses have about nude scenes: 1) Length of time they have to be nude. It takes a long time to get a shot sometimes. I’m sure they’re cold and uncomfortable much of the time. 2) Open access to the set. Some actresses have described instances where the crowd watching the scene tripled in size during a nude scene, and included people that definitely shouldn’t be there. Caterers, pages, delivery guys etc… 3) I believe it’s now a guild requirement to hire an intimacy coordinator for every nude scene. I’m sure they’re expensive and slow down production. Sydney Sweeney has no problems showing the goods. Good for her and very good for us. It’ll be interesting if the Aemond actor complains about having to do a nude scene. It should work both ways right? I’m sure that brothel scene wasn’t a ton of fun to shoot.
  11. Good. Keeps him off the Warriors and ends Steph and Draymond’s half ass rebuilding plan. I think Ainge will game this out. He pulled all the right levers to tank for Duncan and came up just short. I think the Jazz will sit Lauri for any plausible injury. They’re not going to acquire a star in free agency. Signing Lauri, tank for Flagg is one of their very few paths to contention.
  12. Yup. Complete phony clout chaser. The Giants and Bears’ facilities make NRG look like a hobo camp.
  13. Gibson and Clark enrolling early could be pretty big. Hope CJ is OK.
  14. Is Grayson UGA’s North Shore or am I thinking of another high school?
  15. The vision gives me hope for a Bloodraven/Blackfyre Rebellion(s?) series. I’m fine with connecting the shows if we get that.
  16. So 20-24 episodes left, with 20 being the most likely number. The only way is up.
  17. If Chas can’t throw out the runner at third on a sharply hit single from LF, he has business being in the show.
  18. I like the actor playing Will/Yun. I hope the show makes it back to his story. It’s probably the lone bright spot.
  19. I’d have him pitch and bring him along really slowly. But I agree, playing a position is going to be extremely difficult. And even then, most of his peers play competitive baseball year round.
  20. I can get there, but Leonard needs to rush for over a 100 yards. ND has to have him hit a long one. I’m bullish Denbrock eventually fixing their offense/propping up Freeman, but I don’t think it’ll be this season.
  21. I’ve used AAA towing twice within the last 8 months. There’s a short in my dash, I hope is finally fixed. It’s $10 a month. Worth it sure, but I’ll try to fix it first before I call them. Their response times can be very poor. Weekday business hours, fast. Saturday night, 2-3 hours. Same thing applies for tow truck driver. Business hours, you’ll get a pro. Saturday night, you’re going to get a guy leaving the bar. OP it sounds like situation is a bit unique. I assume your kid is driving from Houston to Fayetteville. If your kid is a female, I’d fly her back and forth. Even with AAA, she could catch a sketchy driver late at night. If your son is a Young Life type with a new car, you might be OK. Regardless, if they’re driving back on the weekends, response time is going to be slow. I’d strongly suggest you get their car looked at/serviced every time they come home. I drove back and forth between Austin to Houston every week for about a year. I let stuff go on my 9-10 year old Civic and it turned into a brick.
