My wife tried this and I shut it down immediately. Was trying to get in and out for under 1500 didn't wanna turn it into a 7500 trip.
Stop living in the past old man. This isn't how things are anymore.
Sark is right, that's what it used to be about. It's not about that anymore and it's pretty obvious to everyone and it'll become obvious to him once he goes to his first bowl in 3 seasons this year.
There's a lot of things about CFB that are just not right because there's too many stupid people involved and too much money injected too quickly without any thought. Its gone fully corporate and management consulty in the span of less than 5 years.
ESPN and the current contract terms and conference structures and media rights are stupid at a fundamental level. The bending and changing of the rules to fit into TV timeslots also happened significantly faster than people realize and it has changed the entire strategy of games and how they are played, especially from behind.
The players without collective bargaining and without any restrictions are in a weird power dynamic with athletic departments and coaches.
Coaches are fucked because it's a lot more than coaching and recruiting now. It's about all kinds of crazy shit.
Everything about CFB is mainly stupid because of the stupid people who still live in the old world
The problem with bowl games now is that the post season feels completely manufactured and meaningless when there's a meaningful postseason still going on on the other side.
Extra practices aren't as meaningful as some of you guys are projecting them to be on the higher end P4 teams especially the SEC and B1G teams.
The transfer portal is also massive, a lot of guys will use the bowl as a way to put things on tape and get more money or transfer out etc. Its just a completely misaligned incentive/reward structure.
Answer me this. Who are bowl games for?
I think the bowl games used to be for the teams as a reward - get swag, a trip, do fun stuff etc.
Now I think the bowls are only for the money. This is why they suck now.
It isn't, it's reality. The college football calendar is so incredibly fucked up now.
Bowls shouldn't be happening that late any more - matchups should be and could be set and bowls could start CCG weekend and go through next weekend and then CFB is done except the playoffs. That's how it should be, exhibition games.
CFP didn't ruin college football. Money transformed it.
They need to focus on the entertainment aspect of college football a lot more now and this year they failed miserably to put out an entertaining product leading up to the playoffs and perhaps through the first round.
I tried to book airfare and my wife wasn't having it.
Bowl games are impossible money grab pieces of shit. Have fun if you go, but you probably won't because it's Orlando plus its full on corporate nonsense.
Its also fair to say that Notre Dame got fucking jobbed by the refs and would only have the Miami loss if it weren't for pretty clear ref fuckery. The biggest problem is the majority of their schedule is super soft bullshit.
Winning by 10 against a #3 ranked rival with the game not being in question for the majority of the 4th quarter is lopsided.
Arkansas was also a great game.
