  1. We all go through shit and need to rip into some ass to release some pressure. I'm just glad we have a strong enough community and culture on this board where it doesn't devolve into poo flinging and slap fighting for serious stuff like this. We all Gucci (pun intended)
  2. I mean you edited the post and added some pretty relevant context that was missing on what all the outside forces were on the situation. You are in an objectively fucked situation and that sucks donkey ass. You know we are all here to help however makes sense.
  3. And with real prep likely doesn't lose to Georgia (twice) whos kryptonite is a running/mobile QB.
  4. This is why people don't like Quinn. #justsayin
  5. I haven't told you what you should do. I said that you are making choices on top of a choice you don't get to make.
  6. I was making a joke about the stereotype that it's always cloudy and raining in the PNW Lol
  7. Cash only, local businesses only.
  8. No income tax here in Washington. No sales tax in Oregon. Liberal and LGBTQ friendly here on the left coast. But then you never see the sun and everything is always damp. Yeah, otherwise it would be completely fucking ridiculous to move to another state. They have schools that kids graduate from in California and Colorado too. No one is saying it's fair, but refusing to sell your house and leaving the state is a completely "your problem", the reasons for leaving the state aside.
  9. Burnt ends has specific quid pro quo for all the guys and it is laid out pretty clearly. They have an appearance, 3 interviews each and do brand ambassador stuff for burnt ends a few times a season including the kickoff every year. I don't structure the TOF deals, but they are similar - some type of appearances, interviews etc while promoting TOF or a charity of their choice. They don't get paid to do charitable work. I've been very outspoken about how by the letter of the law TOF has been clean, but I have disagreements on how certain things are done - namely the fact that no one really knows a single charity they've done work for. More people heard about the unrelated to TOF charitable work that canes did than TOF. It's an annoyance as a founder who had a vision for what it could be, not a gripe that it's illegal, wrong or against the rules. This new governance will likely be a huge nothingburger for Texas, it'll be a big deal for a lot of other places that are signing players to pay for play schemes where they are too lazy to build in any believable or relatively sane quid pro quo and bolster that with clawbacks and penalties if they leave etc. This is why I keep using Quinn as an example. He had top NIL money. This new rules set would largely have him unaffected, he has a real agent who works for a real agency, has a PR team, has staff on salary etc. There's a lot of guys that were getting paid a ton of fucking money for nothing but playing and it's obvious, they don't have agents, they have little to no following, the news cycle doesn't follow them, no one talks about their commercials etc. Those types of deals need to die and that's the goal here. I think the university being able to pay them directly is going to solve the majority of this "emotionally attached spend" because you can donate to the AD or AD adjacent collective and poof its just taken care of. Corporate NIL is a totally different animal and there aren't many businesses out there willing to just take a huge fucking bath because the owner likes a player because those businesses wouldn't stay in business. ROI on big corporate money is real and it works. It's a huge market that they haven't been able to enter for a long time, but it's concentrated and strategic. This is where delloite will look into stuff. You can't have a company with 500k in annual revenue spend 300k on marketing the "star" freshman backup RB somewhere who has 10k social media followers and that marketing consists of 3 tweets.
  10. Its hilarious because the income tax boogeyman isn't real. The cost to live your same life is so much cheaper there if you are higher income and live a bit of a higher end lifestyle. Property tax sub 1% in Colorado and capped and tied to purchase price in Cali. Prices used to be more in Cali than Austin, but not anymore.
  11. THATS LITERALLY WHAT THE SETTLEMENT IS FOR OVER $600 3RD PARTY DEALS
  12. There is no enforcement for FMV for claiming you paid too much for a car and still paying the inflated purchase price taxes, the point of saying $5 is because the state will actually deny that and make you pay FMV taxes on the car. I know how the free market works, I'm not an idiot. I also don't think there's a max deal size, I do think that what quinn and livvy did for their money was way different than someone with no significant public following or influence to charge 75k for a 2 sentence tweet 5 times for 375k The entire point is to keep scam deals out and keep deal quality high for NIL so it doesn't just turn into a fucking bag game through grossly overpriced tweets or paying 300k for a 1 hour appearance which not even Tom fucking Brady commands. You know this. You are being obtuse. Stop acting like this is going to limit any rational deals or any deals that include emotional value. It's to prevent obvious fuckery and cheating.
  13. Cool cool cool, now instead of doing it out in the open so it through an arbitration process specifically taskwd with reasonable royalties.
  14. Despite what you think there is decades and hundreds of millions if not billions in contracts in the same exact sport, with people that have significantly more influence that have set the bar for fair market value for things like promoting a business in commercials or on social media. Just because you want to pay someone a ton of money for something absurd doesn't make that the market value. It's the same reason you can't go to the state of Texas and say lol I sold this 2M buggatti for 5 bucks. Can some of you stop being obtuse shitheads about how this would work with a real enforcement mechanism? They aren't hiring some schmuck off the street 3rd party. It's a 3rd party with access to tens of thousands of comparable contracts spanning every industry you can think of. They aren't going to be stopping deals like quinn ewers or livvy dunn got, thats not the point as those are in line with reality.
  15. You seemed to have missed the joke.
  16. Seeya.
  17. Yeah, that's pretty fucking good even when it's "bad". Stop trolling holy fucking shit.
  18. The flu vaccine failed? Fucking news to me. Are you completely braindead?
