  1. Because it is explicitly illegal to induce players you fucking moron. Jesus Christ.
  2. No they are getting paid to do a brand deal. Them playing on the team makes the brand very happy.
  3. As brand ambassadors for surly? We've done several non player things for people to rep or push surly. How many deals have you done for brand representation or name image and likeness?
  4. No you aren't. BOGO is BOGO, that's the entire offer. Buying a cup with no entitlement to lemonade because it's illegal to sell lemonade and not getting lemonade because there is no more lemonade is not part of the agreement. You can't write into the contract an entitlement for lemonade for buying a cup because it's not buying lemonade and technically an entitlement for lemonade and a cup is still selling lemonade. There is no compliance department that would allow that deal and it's against every state law and NCAA rule to do it that way. Stop acting like you fucking know anything. I'm telling you it's not this way. You guys can do the mental gymnastics all you want but no one is getting paid to play. Do people get way out of whack market valuations for NIL because of how good they are or potentially could be on the football field? Fucking duh. Absolutely fucking duh. But you know what you can't do? If they suvk and are benched just not for the deal.
  5. Stop telling me shit isn't how it is when I am the one signing fucking deals with players. You armchair jock sniffers who commentate can fuck off. Sign a fucking deal then you get to talk to me about how it actually works. There is a lot that goes into it and it isn't Hurrrrr durrrr pay for play lolololol.
  6. Its not, its lame and part of the unspoken agreement of not buying lemonade. This is why you are all a bunch of fucking idiots. You are making a grievance claim for lemonade you never had an entitlement for. Its not specious. It is not pay for play. The GM position is real, at Texas and at a lot of schools. It was completely mishandled by everyone and UNLV and this guy both look like complete fucking clown show morons.
  7. Yeah the difference is when you run out of lemonade and people who bought $1 cups bitch about not getting any more lemonade. Those people bought cups and can get fucked as long as you gave them the cup and they gave you the dollar. If someone paid for lemonade and you ran out you must give them their lemonade or give them their money back. This isn't fucking hard you guys are idiots if you think the wink wink unspoken rule doesn't have barbs and risks associated with it. This guy has a real deal he signed and committed when he joined the football team at UNLV that he's backing out of due to circumstances that have nothing to do with the staff, school, team, or anything.
  8. UT doesn't sign any players to NIL deals and neither does UNLV. They do sign players to contracts for stipend and scholarship etc. This isn't about playing for pay. It's about being a shithead. If some boosters didn't pay they should be axed from all UNLV stuff as well. You can do all the legal gymnastics you want, there is no explicit pay for play deals anywhere because they are against the rules. Its why gundy said thank god the season started no more bullshit negotiations etc. Its well known you don't do this kind of shit as much as its unspoken you are actually getting way more money than your brand is worth you also shut the fuck up when you ride the bench or play awesome. You don't get to demand more or take less.
  9. That has nothing to do with obligations to the team after committing and enrolling in school. If this dude quit the team they should nuke his scholarship too. Enticement is also obviously very against the current rules and laws.
  10. And the framework for that changing starts next year. This year we still live in a world where the rules are what they are and it's clear.
  11. Why wouldn't they just go through great lakes ports? That seems faster and better.
  12. The framework and path forward for pay to play is set starting next year with the university entering into direct agreements with players themselves etc. What did UNLV do here? Nothing. What did his team and coaches do wrong? Nothing. So this guy bails on his previous commitments to them because of another deal that didn't work out. Next season if UNLV said it was XXX for your NIL and bla bla bla then they didn't pay him then yeah fuck that and put their shit on blast. This is bad for every single person involved.
  13. There is nowhere in any NIL deal that says playing football is any part of the deal, because that's not what NIL is. Texas doesn't have these situations because they aren't broke dick shitheads who don't out signed contracts. The quid pro quo also has nothing to do with football in any of these instances. So yeah if you get 50k per appearance and have made 3 and not been paid according to contract by all means bail on the contract. That has nothing to do with your football team.
  14. This is a bitch move straight up. NIL has nothing to do with playing and this completely unacceptable horseshit. He is playing college football not professional. There is no way anyone takes this loser in the portal after quitting on his team. He obviously doesn't give a shit about football.
  15. I specialize in this professionally and am taking consulting work. Send me a DM. Happy to help.
  16. The fact that the polls are doing sample size statistics is what makes them completely unreliable now. They aren't even close and are borderline a waste of money outside of general sentiment for some demos.
  17. imagine being such a piece of shit no one feels bad for you that you have Parkinson's.
  18. So the weather looks like it's gonna be super nice for the SEC Home Opener. I think I'm gonna try to do Mississippi Pot Roast in a big 80qt pot that I usually do crawfish in. Does anyone have experience doing something like that? We need to feed 100+ so I'm gonna do ~35-40lbs of chuck roast. I do need help with sides and/or a bread connection. I will have cheddar American and provolone cheese, and some basic dressing stuff. May just go really easy and get a bunch of bags of potato chips? It would be really awesome if someone would just hook me up with someone who wants to cater/donate in exchange for us pushing their restaurant/brand. Juggling all this shit with my family is starting to get to be too much and costs are absolutely out of control for any catering menus in town for food that isn't really just dogshit. We got lucky with the taco place I've been using, but 3 games in a row just sounds like not ideal. Also if someone wants to cook/bring the food I'll pay for everything food cost wise, I have more of a time problem than a food cost problem if that makes sense.
  19. yeah, TBH this is some straight up fucking nonsense now that we see what NIL has become and it's actually the worst possible outcome possible for the NCAA. The schools have some protection, although it may be weird they were compensated and any student athlete at a school doesn't really have rights to the co-branded NIL which is used in much of the material. Now the free market has determined that players are getting a share, but universities could theoretically tell players to go get fucked on things like jersey sales, ad campaigns for the football team etc. They are enrolled athletes and probably part of their duty as a student athlete is to do some of this shit in exchange for their scholarship and cash stipend etc.
  20. who knows what he's having to pay to short though, that's the stupid shit about shorts is they never show you what you have to pay to short a stock. A lot of people aren't just gonna let you short the fuck out of it for free right now hell there's short sellers probably selling to other short sellers now it's a mess.
  21. Why would that be an answer in this thread? Yes there is something planned.
  22. Its also funny because investor sentiment and the real economy have now become decoupled as well. We live in a fantasy land.
  23. Because the stock market valuations aren't indicative of anything and shareholder sentiment is a bunch of nonsense.
