  1. Did we rule out that his kid was simply trying to escape from him?
  2. I thought the bleach bit was what Kardashians do to their buttholes.
  3. Good post. If anything, his death has me meditating on life’s fleeting temporary nature. I’m sitting at the bar eating a pre-golf lunch and ran into a very close sober friend and her BIL who just informed me about their father’s death. This lady and I have been friends for over 50 years; I think if we held a high school election for “most likely to die young from internal demons” she and I would have topped the list. I have a vague recollection of a house party about 35 years ago where she and I “came to” on the floor next to each other and caught each other’s gaze and we both knew our settings were off. Shortly thereafter I ended up in college, and she ended up in California with a needle in her arm. It’s really nice that we saw each other today, clear eyed and sober. And that I was able to share my heartfelt condolences on her dad’s passing.
  4. I’m confused - an OWGR victory? Edit - ah, I see. Morikawa got the OWGR win today. https://www.owgr.com/events/tour-championship---72-hole-scores-10545
  5. Unsure if it was related to his alcoholism, but last week he was septic, in ICU, waiting for a liver and kidney transplant. I had a gut feeling something was very wrong since his last post was 8/18. At my urging, Brisket contacted his wife and she shared the news. That’s all I know.
  6. Agreed. I love that many soldiers stationed at Ft. Bragg live in Southern Pines and Pinehurst, and hang out at the local courses. Rolling into the Deuce bar after a round was like attending a block party of chopper pilots just back from deployment. I love that the Army also keeps nice courses on base. I’m at that point where I want my kid and his buddies to grow the game and play as many rounds as possible.
  7. Lowest scoring average in PGA tour history. 68.
  8. Sounds like a LIV fan. My son was asking me a lot about golf etiquette recently, and my advice was that it changed over the years. For example, I remember when metal spikes were the standard and etiquette meant you didn’t wear them in the Men’s lounge or the locker room. And he will never know the sound of spikes on pea gravel. Just basic stuff like don’t stand in someone’s field of vision, don’t walk in their line, repair all ball marks, leave your bunker rakes in the right place, etc. We were looking at the U.S. Amateur trophy in the hallway at Pinehurst and I gave him a history of Bobby Jones and amateurism and how early touring pros were considered uncouth and not gentlemen. How a lot of golf “etiquette” was actually snobbish and elitist and how modern etiquette is pretty much don’t be a dick and if you want to play the par 3 course barefoot then have at it. But I draw the line at loud music.
  9. Rest in peace Lobo.
  10. Yeah, brisket just texted me with the news. It really sucks. I always wanted to get to know that guy in real life.
  11. I have zero problem buying clients $1k in bespoke bourbon pours, as long as they keep my topo chico topped off.
  12. Theegala touches the fairway bunker during his setup on the 3rd, calls a two shot penalty on himself. The video was inconclusive, but I guess if you know you know.
  13. That’s how people end up with garage fridges. When I sold my last house, the buyer ended up with a kitchen fridge and a garage fridge and I only took my chest freezer.
  14. Had lunch at Luby’s today with a guy who got clean 9 years and 2 days ago. He credits me with an intervention that saved his life - and all I did was stop by his house to check on him. I’ll never forget it - he was hiding from me and I saw this pair of crazed tweaked out eyes peer at me from the back corner of his house. Zero heroic effort on my part. He was ready, and I happened to be the guy who showed up. Today, he is married, beautiful wife, flourishing small business, and is father to a daughter who was born 3 weeks before he got clean. Sadly, the baby momma died about 5 years ago from addiction. But this guy has helped hundreds of men. People have unlimited potential, and I love witnessing miracles.
  15. If you could work for any one cloud/software/services company, who would it be? I’m thinking sales or customer service.
  16. And his porn accountability partner
  17. And you can’t process a payment via the previous servicer?
  18. lol I’m sure they did something. I’m just in a really bad mood today.
  19. Mr. Cooper can eat a dick. I would put everything they send me into spam except I need to know if there is an important issue with my mortgage account. While we’re at it, ULM can eat a dick for selling my paper to Mr. Cooper. Interestingly, they are also one of my team’s biggest customers - and I’ve enjoyed telling my teammates about what I was told about the name Mr. Cooper being a focus-group name that would prevent people from being angry at a corporation.
  20. Thanks for posting that. Scottie’s voice hasn’t even dropped yet. I’d love to see Will stay healthy.
  21. I believe each successive day brings more outlandish antisocial behavior. It’s as if they are beating us with a proverbial meat tenderizer, just methodically loosening us up.
  22. Same here, man. Same here.
  23. I am also particularly vexed by that whole event. I’m surprised at the depth of my feelings. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.voanews.com/amp/us-european-commission-affirm-commitment-to-deter-putin/6501272.html That young man in the photo rising from his chair to greet the COC is my son, and this photo was taken within 24 hours of my own father’s military funeral. In fact, I was at the dias glancing at the back of the sanctuary until the last possible minute, hoping that the CG of the 82nd had approved his request for emergency leave and that he would appear just in time for the ceremony. 2 weeks ago at Ft. Liberty (Bragg) I pinned railroad tracks to his headgear in front of his colleagues and the brigade commander. You can see the kid’s resemblance to his grandfather at 5:50 of this video. Fuck J.D. Vance and tfg. Has anyone else already started mentally scripting their reaction and relief when orange man is finally gone? I’m thinking of taking a break from the internet.
  24. The cruelty and outrage is a feature not a bug. It’s cosplay. I imagine myself campaigning, seeing that come up on the prompter, and I break character, laugh, and say she can go to (looks around mischievously) heck!
