  1. A few Thanksgivings ago, in False River, LA, I met a cousin by marriage’s dad. His Tshirt said “We Dont Rent Pigs” and I chuckled, knowingly. He died of cancer a month later and a month after that his grandson Gus was born. Gus and his brothers Bear and Charlie already have their own horses, their dad was a pro rodeo guy for a while.
  2. So do I. Not to derail but years ago I sponsored an ‘ol boy from Florida who pushed his gimme cap back on his head, scratched his temple, looked at me and drawled “y’know when you're worryin’ your just arguing with God.”
  3. Bridge of spies is one of my favorites. “Im trying to save your life, but you don't seem too worried about it” “”Would it help?”
  4. I've got those dishes too!
  5. This might be a good place to post my favorite charity dedicated to ending human trafficking. https://www.joinredm.com/ Some of you Houston O&G professionals might be seeing this as the founder is an NOV C-level exec.
  6. I've got a Generac whole-house natural gas generator in Beaumont, even though I’m on the very well-managed, reliable, and affordable Entergy grid. There will be another Ike/Rita/Laura?
  7. Also, I can't get my wife near a church, because she's still dealing with multigenerational PTSD from her great granddad’s church. I've heard some things. “He was tall and he was handsome And he preached the holy word And the women of Wayne County Would all melted at what they heard He preached heaven for the sinner Through salvation from above But the ladies came to hear him For the way he talked of love. Brother Shelton, Brother Shelton Well, you seem to understand You were kind and you were gentle With the word at your command And your very much a man. I was young and I was aching to be loved by my first man I was frightened by feelings and I knew he'd understand So he took me in his strong arms and melted me one night Saying feelings all from heaven Darling love always right. Brother Shelton, Brother Shelton well You seem to understand You were kind and you were gentle With the word at your command Brother Shelton, Brother Shelton Will you hold this poor girls' hand You were wise and you were tender And your very much a man. Yes, he loved me and I knew that I had his baby deep inside But nobody would believe me He already had a bride They'd just say that I was lying I'd be punished for my sin So there's nothing left but leaving With a lesson learned from him. Brother Shelton, Brother Shelton Now this poor girl understands That you preach a different sermon When you touch a woman's hand Brother Shelton, Brother Shelton Praying at your preachers stand But the Lord and I know different Your just another man. Brother Shelton, Brother Shelton Now this poor girl understands That you preach a different sermon When you touch a woman's hand Brother Shelton, Brother Shelton Praying at your preachers stand But the Lord and I know different Your just another man...”
  8. As a PCUSA who somehow ended up at Baylor but can't stand their message board users, thanks for letting me hang.
  9. So Rory isn't getting divorced after all. Hmmm.
  10. Driving a new electric Silverado this week. Not sure I’d want to own it but its certainly not a bad drive at all.
  11. Jesus. And its just June.
  12. My wife’s submissions.
  13. Tell me again why we dislike Jack? My specific beef is because he is friends with cheeto face.
  14. Sounds enticing, but I just go to this place on Exhuma. https://www.peaceandplenty.com/
  15. Great meme, but why is that in cloak room?
  16. I'm just kicking myself for not going to Pinehurst this year for the Open, I'm there several times a year but I just can't go in good faith until my kid gets back from deployment in two weeks. I'm taking him to play there to celebrate his upcoming promotion to Captain before he leaves NC for his next posting. Heck of a win by Scottie, that course looked so hard.
  17. Hahaha agreed. That big ol volume has been taking up space in my living room for years, unfinished, because I can't seem to find room in my traveling bags. I do have it on Audible though. All 66 hours.
  18. Memory lane. The kid as about to be an Army Captain. And I miss my guad guide, Scott Graham. Colorado here we come. Missing dad today. Go Spurs.
  19. Excellent. Know any guides? Digging into my recently inherited fly rod cabinet. I'm not sure why dad loved Reddington so much but Ive got just about every model from 3-12 weight, about 20 of them. I plan on giving some to my boy.
  20. I doubled my position yesterday in anticipation of next week’s split bounce. I'm already up a LOT from my original entry point so time will tell if it was a good call.
  21. When my son gets back from the sandbox and moves to Colorado Springs, he is going to learn fly fishing. I'll need recommendations for guides and rivers somewhat close. Any ideas?
  22. I know it might not be the proper forum, but yesterday, I got the CAD assessor to drop my valuation by $70K, even below the independent appraisal commissioned by UWM. I'm not sure if it was my compelling PowerPoint deck, the cordial promise that I was going to tie up his whole afternoon presenting it in excruciating detail, or the fact that his original valuation was higher than Snoop and Willie combined on April 20, but he thanked me profusely for making such a compelling case. I think he is simply weary of unprepared kooks showing up to whine and grind axes. Don't count out Wulaw’s lube game either, my title company appreciated his people’s work. And he patiently absorbed my inane ramblings.
  23. He is a fan favorite, but he doesn't generate as much discussion because his game has been flawless lately. And his reaction, even to bad shots, is even-tempered.
  24. I want to be this guy. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/VY28b5TE3Esz2A95/?mibextid=UalRPS
