  1. My wife might have other thoughts.
  2. If you do, there's a nurse in the Mays building, floor two (bladder cancer) who is a veritable goddess. Fair skin, raven-black hair, shoulder tats, and the perkiest set of tits I've ever seen. When we were on the elevator I told my mom “if I wasn't married I’d dedicate my life to making her mine.” she's probably married to a surgeon or something.
  3. One of my company’s leadership is nominated to undersecretary for science for an agency, and he is actually a scientist which sounds, you know, kinda legit.
  4. MD Anderson cancelled patient visits for Tuesday.
  5. Geez that is rough. Positive vibes sent y’all’s way. There is something poetic about that ending, but I'm sure it feels like a tragedy right now. This morning I shaved my mom’s head. She had about 15% of her normal mane left after 3 rounds of chemo so I got out my norelco one touch and finished the job. I'm calling her Captain Picard now. But she has a wig that evokes Jane Fonda. Also, I have found my one true love, the most beautiful raven-haired-tattood latina goddess-woman-nurse I have ever encountered. Visit the waiting room on the 2nd floor of the Mays building at MD Anderson if you want to share my infatuation.
  6. That's cocopup. Her dad is to the left, Captain Jack. Yes Im a recovered alcoholic with dogs named jack and coke, but I didn't name them.
  7. I hope not. Vikings football has been a family rallying point since we lost my 15-year-old nephew last year. They moved to Eden Prarie and everything.
  8. Just sitting here stroking my wieners. Long, longer, and longest.
  9. I love the last series of posts; good on y'all. I did take care of my dad’s recreational needs, taking him fishing once weekly, weather permitting, for the last 13 years of his life. The Saturday prior to his death, I was talking about how we were going to engineer him getting into and out of the boat on our next trip, and he said, “Son, your stepmom has moved mountains keeping me alive lately. You really think I'm going to just announce that I'm going fishing?” So now I get the opportunity to shuttle mom to MD Anderson for chemo and all the corresponding visits. My sister put her life in MN on pause, flew in, and handled the first 1/2; now it's my turn. Like Brisket, my mom lives 5 minutes from me, and I'm fortunate that I can drop food off, take care of the chores, and flush her chemo picc line every day.
  10. Well Pete, congress disagrees to the point where they overrode a veto, so eat a dick. What is the fascination with Ft Bragg? Does the name sound cool or something? Kinda like the success Texas had with guys named Strong and Smart. Cool names, debatable talent.
  11. Jetties are to interrupt the longshore current to prevent shoals from forming in dredged ship channels. And Galveston has rock groins spaced intermittently along the seawall to preserve their modest beach.
  12. I would imagine that California will be active enforcing laws and policies. Here in Texas, I lost a beachfront lot and house to Ike. A shoe box sized hunk of concrete was the only evidence remaining. When the LIDAR map was set, we lost half the lot to the beach and so the state bought us out, and we took the insurance money and did not rebuild. Our neighbor, a not inconsequential trial attorney, sold his lot to a guy who overbuilt about 30’ on our former property, now owned by the state. When he pointed it out to the guy his reply was “fuck off, I'm friends with half the Texas general land office, so unless you're planning on filing a lawsuit shut up.” If you're in Crystal Beach and see a giant white house with a red roof in Singing Sands, that's the guy. So I'm interested to see how many people in CA decide to do what they want to do and chance litigation.
  13. And to think a short year ago we were watching the atmospheric river slide houses at Dana Point into the Pacific. I took this last February.
  14. Well shit. Rare that I root for y'all but I sure was tonight.
  15. Positive vibes for all affected. Thanks C-Man for the explanations. I bitch about having to pay for windstorm/wind-driven rain insurance, but that pales in comparison to the prospect of wind-driven fire. Or wind driven earth, for that matter.
  16. I'd love to know how that household injury went down.
  17. Matilda May Bearschlong came home today. Dachshund #3. The others are not amused yet.
  18. John Lithgow plays the exact same character in every single performance.
  19. I don't know the suspect but I know people who now know people who did.
  20. The only thing I terrorized was an errant field mouse.
