It’s amazing how you can have six hour winning session, get home and the only thing you can think about is you were likely bluffed out of a pot in your 3

Yes yes he is and he ain’t welcome in these dang parts. Jimmy Johnson’s wife was looking for houses in cedar park. Maybe he’s our next coach

What's up! Who are ya? PM if you don't want to post.
Bam! Didn't come into play this hand, but this is a spot where we should jam river absolutely. 8 is never folding. Saw a guy the other day have KQ on KKTTQ and he basically minraised river, and obv got instacalled by a king. Jam, they aren't folding.
What a bruuuutal pair of hands to happen back to back JFC. First hand, I actually don't hate the flop check, we are underrepping our hand and keeping the pot smaller. AA on JT3 six handed is not a monster, just a strong hand. I actually think we should fold the river, there's basically nothing except KQ that he may raise the flop with, and bet turn and river that we beat. We lose to any jack, 33, Q9. In game, I can definitely imagine just rolling my eyes and throwing in a one chip call. Second hand, nothing really to be done on that one, except go running kings next time.
I think the concept of "be aggressive rather than passive" is a very good one, since most players play too passively. But, it definitely doesn't mean you should never call. Lots more players are using calling to keep their opponent's range wide. As an example, you are headsup, you have KJ, board is K95. Opponent bets. We obv can't fold. So should we call or raise? If we raise, what happens? Usually villain will fold all the hands we beat, call or reraise all the hands that beat us. Calling loses us less money when beat, and may get us another bet out of hands like TT-QQ or A9. Obviously all of this has to be adapted based on our image and villain tendencies. If villain is an amazing spewbot, raise the KJ and then snap him off when he jams A5.
Love your analysis. Years of playing or did you study?

I am so out of practice. But, I've always read, don't call, raise or fold. Is that not true anymore? I know the answer to every poker question is "it depends."

Shady McCoy’s last catch in a blowout gave me the 1 point win

Pretty easy to spot the charlie ride or die guys in this thread. No, not the time to fire herman

Welcome!
Nice hit on the HH! How big was the pot?
Usually Bad Beat Jackpots pay 50% to the “loser”, 25% to the best hand and the last 25% is split amongst the other players at the table that were in that hand (aka “table share”). Not the case there?Where you live?

Not the case there? Not here. I think it varies, but I believe the remaining table guys Colorado is a good scene, but only a few poker rooms. I used to pay alot of my bills in college with poker, but haven't played in a while. Alot of calling stations with this bad beat stuff. It's great, but usually very few heads up hands.

Hey guys, first time poster. I live and play up in Denver, great city. over at Ameristar, they had a 1,000 an hour high hand promotion. I won with a king high straight flush, while my opponent flopped an ace high flush. I had flopped a king high flush (holding q/9H) on the button.
They also have a bad beat pot that is now up to 250k. I think the winner of the bad beat gets 150k and the loser gets close to 100k. This has changed the behavior of the players. Everyone will stay with anything connected, suited, one-gappers. Brought out a lot of fish who will fold the instant they miss on the flop. Been easy money.
Look forward to the banter as I have found this thread very educational. Small world as I played and won a tournament at Sooner's house. Nice to see you here B.

Always score when you can, as nothing is every guaranteed. But this is the third big game where clock management killed us right? Tech in 08, UCLA vs Charlie, and now this one. I feel like I'm missing one.
