  1. We got pounded like South Austin's mom here at Canyon Lake around 5pm yesterday. IMG_7231.mov
  2. This is the boat that I'll swap up to if the trigger gets pulled --
  3. Got to test drive a 2025 Nautique G23 today here at Canyon Lake. What an absolute unit -- IMG_7225.mov IMG_7226.mov IMG_7224.mov
  4. What's the baseball version of the Triple Lindy? Shotgunning a liter of Mescal while crouched in full gear?

79 years old. Damn, just damn...
  7. Was it on CL yesterday. It was very nice. Water temp 84F and air temp 89F. Then we got hit by a storm around 4pm and it absolutely poured on us for a good hour. Went back to the slip and ate in the Marina restaurant. Thankfully they've got that open again. Place is called Breakwater Grill I think. Much better food than the old regime.
  8. Been out there the last few days. The water is fine. There's still the odd chunk of debris, but surprisingly little. Clarity is so-so, but with each passing day the CL normal color is coming back. Boat traffic during the week is still very low, which is nice. A little sample... IMG_7161.mov
  9. Same as it ever was...
  10. It's fluid.
  11. Yup -- IMG_7150.mov
  12. Caught this pulling out of the Canyon Lake Marina today while I was over there this afternoon -
  13. ^^That combined is more than Canyon Lake at capacity. Wow. I'm expecting CL to be close to 70% full by Wednesday. Another big slug of H20 heading here from Kerrville/Comfort right now.
  14. Hang in there brother.
  15. Since they put up the TFR a few days ago there hasn't been any air traffic over the lake till I saw this a few minutes ago-- IMG_7119.mov
  16. Where the white circle with the cross through it is...
  17. Just drove down the street to the Crane's Mill Marina entrance. There's a park right across the street where one can go and view the Guadalupe snaking its way into Canyon Lake. I was going to have a look on my way home from the grocery store and this is what I ran into...
  18. You’re confusing us with Lake Travis. My next door neighbor is a meth lab.
  19. To me that map represents their un-lubed dildo of consequences. I think I’ll pass.
  20. That is a perfect analogy. Well done. I may pass that along to him if I see the dude again. Laughter is definitely at a premium over there.
  21. Oh, jokes were made about Monahans. Best beach Pecos has, HOLLA!!! I was sort of disappointed the guy didn't look a bit more like Billy Bob Thornton though. If I'm being honest.
  22. The commander fella was really sincere about thanking me. The younger dudes (SIL included) were more slap on the back, "man that's good stuff!" thankful but that guy squared me up, stared straight into my eyes, and gave one of those very serious, "Thank you. No, look at me. Thank you" kind of deals. It was unsettling, but not in a bad way if that makes any sense. Of all of them he showed the weight of what they'd been through the most. The comic relief, though, was one of the guys there complaining about how when this was all over he'd have to go back to Pecos, TX. Having lived out that way for a season of my life I completely understood and co-signed his bitching.
  23. The cove circled in the upper left is where they searched today and the circle in the middle of the frame is my house...
