  1. My SIL was evacuated from the Hunt area about 45 minutes ago. "Big wall of water coming your way" was the message they all got.
  2. This. What I would post might really hit some people beyond hard reading this and I do not want to be that guy.
  3. He's not giving a number of all that are missing, just what they've found this morning. He did specifically say that some were "not from the camp".
  4. There's more.
  5. My son-in-law is a DPS detective and is there working recovery with the entire department from Victoria. He just texted my daughter (former Mystic camper). I'm not sure about posting specifics on numbers, but get ready to hear some rough news pretty soon on what they've found this morning.
  6. If "normal" is defined by the abnormal period since 2021 with jack squat for rain (except a good flood Aug '24) then I'd say it would take between 1-2 yrs. We're at about 230,000 acre ft right now and 1 yr ago today we were at 212,000. The red dot I put on today's graph is a pretty good visual of the answer to your question. Coincidently that dot also represent the exact time that I bought my house here. This is why I don't do Vegas --->
  7. There's still 26K cfs coming into Canyon Lk right now. Only 79 cfs being released from under the dam. Definitely not done here.
  8. Oh, it's a dent. From 46.6% to over 63% in 24 hours. That said, still a loooooong way from full.
  9. That stick was at water's edge yesterday morning...
  10. As of this morning -
  11. I think I was thinking of this one. I was living in SA in 2018, so I know I couldn't have been on Lake ATX then. It was more like 7 to 10 days of heavy rain over LBJ/Marble Falls area thing. And right before that the lake was close to an all-time low...
  12. Wow, it was that recent? Man, my recall is fading fast.
  13. ^^I fear he's 100% correct.
  14. Just bonkers. What really blows my mind is thinking back to the last time it filled (2015?) over the course of a week or so. I still remember heading out on Lake ATX about 10 days later and almost hitting a telephone pole floating about an inch below the surface. Watching this it's hard to fathom how much water there was that fell out of the clouds back then.
  15. Canyon Lake showing that it's up almost 10 feet now since this morning...
  16. God bless that sweet little soul.
  17. Gotcha. Thanks
  18. My drone flyover of the flood waters and debris field moving into Canyon Lake right now... DJI_0067.mov
  19. Yes, but they're all over the place. One of my neighbors who has been here over 4 decades says he's guessing 7 to 8 feet. I think around 10', but I'm a newby and inject hopium straight into my veins.
  20. A pic of the cabin that my daughter was in a few years back. Look at that water line...
  21. And that is fair... It is coming up roughly 2 feet/hr
  22. The news is way behind. Up about 6' now.
  23. My sister lives just down river from Sattler across from River Road. She took this video from the back porch after the big dump of rain this morning. All of this is from that rain, none from the Kerrville flood. Crazy... IMG_7530.mov
  24. The lake is up almost 6 feet since 7am this morning when the wall of water hit. On top of that we got a serious 2 hr downpour this morning. Probably dumped another 4 inches or so right on top of us. The Guadalupe below the dam is now swollen bigly and they've closed River Road from Sattler to NB. I don't think any houses are in danger, but they are doing some "rescues" by boat into neighborhood near Gruene where the water has cut off vehicle access. That was just shown on the SA NBC affiliate. For now the rain has stopped here. I did a drone flyover the lake yesterday before it got nasty and now that the weather has calmed down I'm getting ready to do another to get a before/after look at what has happened. I'll post that up here once downloaded to my Vimeo account. I watched a video on FB of a local that charters pontoon boats earlier. He was out on the lake just getting an assessment early this morning. There were crazy currents, swirls, and the water had gone from turquoise green and blue to Mississippi mud brown. There were also gigantic trees floating around in the middle of the lake. Really big ones. That's about all I got for now. Will update soon.
  25. That's why the Sheriff was so adamant about going through the timeline in that big presser. All cya. Good ole Kerr County.
