  1. Whoever can stop the run in this conference will have the most success. So far, no one can. Everyone is running wild every week, win or lose
  2. Patterson is talking to just stay relevant out there. He knows damn well if giving a RB 35 carries was the key to getting a win then he would do it easily. Now throughout the course of the season, sure - you don't want to give your RB too big of a workload but it's not like Bijan has been getting 30 carries every week. This was a one-time thing with how the game was going. Patterson knows TCU is a program in decline so he's talking just to talk and bring any kind of attention to them.
  3. Big XII is not strong this year at all...after a month it's clear that Texas will be challenging OU for the conference. I don't see any team that will be able to come into DKR and win so we should go undefeated at home. The only two road games I'm concerned about are Baylor/ISU but I think we at least get the split. 9-3 or 10-2 are strong possibilities and should earn a spot in Arlington for the conference title.

    OU @ KSU Fox

OU playing these JV offenses to start the season. Nebraska, WVU, K-State are definitely not going to prepare them for the Sark System
  5. I think Patterson's complaining all week about SMU's post-game celebration was just out of desperation. Patterson knows that TCU is a program in decline. For the first time, SMU is legitimately pushing TCU as the premier team in DFW and he's scared. Without UT/OU's coattails to hang onto and when new teams join the Big XII, I think TCU Football will be in big trouble
  6. Give 11 for TCU our game ball. His turnovers were the difference
  7. That's game...TCU's offense goes cold like last week vs. SMU and their defense can't stop the run
  8. TCU's passing game is toast without their best WR. Just stop the run and they won't be able to drive down the field
  9. Good decision. Just play it safe and take the 3 points. The offense knows they will be due for at least one more TD to seal the game...TCU won't stop them on two possessions to catch up
  10. Arkansas is back...for September. Better enjoy it now because they've got Georgia and Ole Miss next on the road. We will see how they look in their first true road game. A lot of teams have been wetting the bed on the road for the first time, especially since they didn't play in full stadiums last year (see Texas at Fayetteville and TT today)
  11. Damn Rice sucks...they need to play TX State. Loser gets demoted from the state

    TEXAS QB TALK

Casey won. Best-case scenario for him, even better than winning the job to start the season. Maybe even Sark is breathing a sigh of relief because this makes things clearer for him with less potential for drama down the road. Let Hudson Card get sacrificed in the Arkansas game (which was gonna be tough for any QB...Casey looked good but keep in mind a lot of it was garbage time when the defense was already protecting a 2-3 TD lead). Now Casey has two easier games in front of him and the fanbase is down on Card so he might be out of the picture in 2021.

    TEXAS QB TALK

It should have been Casey's job to lose. Two years more experience and development is an advantage...especially if we're talking about just year 1 of a new coaching staff and system. Starting a freshman/RS QB is not ideal unless you have a really great team around him already and/or he is an elite recruit/prospect. Ehlinger started for 4 years so that QBs like Casey could afford to sit and not be rushed onto the field. Even if you like Card better long-term, it is better to have Casey get through the next 1-2 years so that Card can sit and develop before being expected to take over.
  14. It's gotta be McCasland for TT unless he doesn't want it but I'm not sure why he wouldn't. He got his coaching start at TT and also at Midland, plus the conference experience as a Baylor assistant. OU will be after him too.
  15. Texas Tech basketball is done. They will probably hire some spare next...Chris Beards don't come along everyday. They had the national championship in the bag two years ago but left Hunter wide open for that corner three...that will haunt them forever
  16. Going to basketball games will actually be fun now with a real coach and real arena
  17. Yeah UNC will go after someone from the Roy Williams/UNC tree...I doubt Beard will even be on their radar. Even if he was, I don't think he'd be interested...even though it's a premier job. He is a state of TX/Big XII guy, the only upgrade in program I could see him wanting would be Texas or Kansas.
  18. I believe there's a good chance Beard is very interested and I don't think it has much to do with being an alumni. He is probably not going to be at Tech forever like a Coach K or Izzo. Counting his time as an assistant, that's already 15 years in Lubbock. Sure he could hold out and wait for a UNC/Duke/Kentucky/etc. to open but he's spent most of his career coaching in TX so maybe this is where he will be most comfortable. UT will be the best opportunity in the state and outside of Kansas, the best program with resources in the conference.
  19. If Beard says no then wait for Oregon to be eliminated and gimme Dana Altman!
  20. No doubt they will go all in on Beard but it will be up to him if he wants it or not. They need a big name and someone established because of the new arena coming up so I don't see Ivey getting much consideration.
  21. Hope we play Marquette in the 1st round of the next tournament. Easy win
  22. Thank you Shaka and Marquette!
  23. The Shaka apologists have to be sick right now..."Just more bad luck for him, not fair!"
  24. 52 points by Texas is still the 2nd-lowest of the tournament so far, only ahead of 16 seed Drexel who put up 49.
  25. He's done here. He might keep his job another year if CDC is too scared to make a change now but it is just delaying the inevitable a year from now. The split between Shaka supporters and haters was about 35/65 heading into this tournament but that seems to be down to 10/90 now
