  1. Similar to the points on Whose Line is it Anyway. They're totally made up and don't matter. Just like the word 'no' in Waco.
  2. Honest request here: can anyone provide any video and/or GIF examples of DPI that went uncalled? Since I wasn't at the game, I had limited view of what was going on away from the ball, so I never really saw any uncalled DPI. Was this actually happening? Or are we just saying it because we lost?
  3. To be fair, I can think of 3 plays just off the top of my head that were incredibly close to being explosive. I know close doesn't count, but I still think it's worth mentioning: Halfway through the third quarter, down 17-10, we had a 1st & 10 from our own 5. Sam threw an absolute dime to CJ who was breaking free across the middle 15 yards downfield. An incredibly uncharacteristic drop by CJ prevented at least a 20-30 yard gain, maybe even a 95 yard touchdown. Gus and Joel even agreed CJ probably could have scored if he caught it. The very next play: Sam threw another absolutely perfect ball to Eagles who was streaking down the field at our own 40. Eagles let the ball bounce off his hands, but he likely would have scored if he had held onto it. We ended up punting on that drive after being "that" close to a touchdown on back to back plays. With 9 minutes left in the game, down 27-17, we had 1st & 10 on OU's 37. Sam threw yet another beautiful ball to DD in the endzone which likely would have been caught for a touchdown if not for a pretty bad DPI by OU. This ended up being a really smart penalty by OU, because we ended up only getting a FG on that drive. The most interesting thing about this play was, as the offense was hurrying to the line before the play, the camera zoomed in on Sam and he looked like he was pleading with Herman for that specific play call. Did anyone else catch that? As I said before, "almost" having explosive plays is not as good as having explosive plays. However, I think it's worth noting how close we were to 3 explosive, and potentially game changing plays, but just barely missed out on them. And that's just me thinking off the top of my head without re-watching the game. I'm sure there were more that I'm forgetting.

  5. My wife is a Bama grad, so I watched a lot of Jalen's Bama games with her. I distinctly remember how much better he was at home. With a quieter crowd, he was able to receive audible calls at the line of scrimmage from Lane Kiffin on the sideline more easily than he could when he was in front of a hostile crowd.
  6. This. The funniest thing about Hurts's "I played in the Iron Bowl, I think I'll be fine" quote is the fact that he only played in an Iron Bowl in front of a hostile crowd one time (2017), and that... didn't go well. 12/22 passing for 112 yards, 1TD/O Int. 18 carries, 82 yards rushing, 0 TD. Bama lost 26-14. But yea Jalen, I'm sure you'll be fine. The Cotton Bowl will be nice and quiet while you're on the field.
  7. I am right there with you, but unfortunately I don't think we'll see it happen. Herman will put much more importance on taking a fully healthy squad to Dallas next week than he will running up Sam's stats. We will likely run a slow, grinding pace on offense and we'll take Sam and other starters out of the game as soon as we have a comfortable lead.
  8. I wish I had a picture of it, but I was one of the "sad fans" the TV camera zoomed in on that day. I was leaning against the rail in front of my seat (Yea, front row humble brag) with a disgusted look on my face, and all of a sudden my phone started literally blowing up with "DUDE you were just on TV for like 30 seconds" text messages. Then on Monday, I had people in my classes whom I'd never spoken to before saying "Hey I saw you on TV Saturday!". Good times.
  9. Same. I honestly don't understand their fan base at all. One of my best friends went to WVU, and he absolutely hates Texas with a passion and I can't think of a good reason why. I think when they came into the Big 12, they just thought it was their job to hate us. The funny thing is we've been in the worst years of our program's history since they joined the conference, and they've been in arguably the best years of their program's history, and they've still barely managed to beat us every other year. I have a feeling they're all about to get real quiet for a real long time now that we're back up and they're back down.
  10. True, but my main point was that Sam is the leader of the team, and if the leader of the team has been chomping at the bit for an entire year to get payback on those toothless, horns down, sister-fuckers, then he will likely have the entire team ready to play at a high level.
  11. Sam circled this game as soon as last year's game ended in Austin. I'm not worried.
  12. They'd be dumb if they didn't spell out "DBU" and then morph straight into "471".
  13. Stupid sips, our defense doesn't suck. Our QB does! /bayouaggy
  14. brb, gotta go run through a wall. Is it Saturday yet?!
  15. On the bright side, at least he wasn't caught on any hot mics talking about how bad our team is.
  16. Duv took one handoff out of the backfield against LaTech, so it appears the coaches were already preparing for the possibility of needing him to play some RB.
  17. The funniest part is Muhammad was arrested a few years later for literally the exact same thing. But yea great example, Nick.
  18. I, for one, would never get tired of that. With all due respect, of course.
  19. I'm calling it now: our streak of no 50+ yard plays ends on our first offensive drive.
  20. I'm sorry, but that's an extremely aggy response. "Yea you beat us, but we won a different game around the time you lost a game where several of your best players didn't even play, so HA!!" As much as I hate those toothless sister-fuckers; they got us in the head-to-head so they have the bragging rights until next year.
