  1. As soon as it was apparent a few weeks ago who that account belonged to, I immediately put it on ignore. He's an absolutely worthless poster who brings nothing to the table. He's just an overbearing, bloviating bore who lacks the capacity for self-reflection. And here is clumsily acting like a trollish fool. Do your best to forget he exists.
  2. Right. So, for example, supposed "conservatives" said they were all about Free Speech this time last year, as if liberals and moderates actively oppose that notion, and let's not forget, the University of Texas at Austin actively suppressed the speech of students protesting the war in Gaza. And here, they say that they will punish the University if it allows for "conservative ideas" to be belittled, which is basically saying don't let professors/students speak freely if they think one of those ideas is dumb. So, more or less, they're threatening to punish Free Speech that they don't like. Isn't threatening to punish Free Speech that you don't like the antithesis of Free Speech? Or is punishing Free Speech that you don't like actually a "conservative idea?"
  3. It seeks to create a more welcoming environment for conservatives, asking colleges to make governance changes and abolish departments that β€œpurposefully punish, belittle, and even spark violence against conservative ideas.” Don't punish or spark violence. Yeah, I can get behind that. No place for that shit in an academic setting, but what the fuck does "belittle conservative ideas" mean exactly? And what, precisely, constitutes a conservative idea?

  6. Man, I don't know -- only have the vaguest recollection that it headed northeast after landfall. I do strongly remember that quote happening after a hurricane in Florida, though, specifically. The comment may have been connected to an especially shitty FEMA response shortly after DeSantis was elected for the first time, so the state was in the spotlight. It's all a jumble of hazy associations.

That's an angle I hadn't considered. But if not her, who took the correct burner phone?
  8. My sighting was sometime before the pandemic at the Brodie/Wm. Cannon location.
  9. Yeah, I think it was when one of those hurricanes hit the Florida Panhandle/Big Bend region in 2020, possibly Fay or Sally.
  10. I broke one of my cardinal rules of avoiding hearing his voice to listen for the reaction to that comment. Glad he was met with silence.
  11. It puts the gold in the Golden Triangle.
  12. Hahahaha! A-hahaha! *wheeeeeze* Hahahaha!
  13. Ain't that the truth. So much shit's happened that my brain can't process all the various shit that's happened.
  14. On my way to dinner last night, I heard someone on NPR report that one of the reasons the last shutdown ended was due to actions like these by TSA agents. I'd forgotten all about that.
  15. So far as I know, I’ve only ever seen one once worn out in the wild. This was at an HEB in SW Austin. It was a grizzled, old white guy with a beard, sitting on a scooter with a couple of bags of groceries, looking like he was waiting for a ride -- a sad, little, pathetic old man.

One would think Grasso would’ve noticed that his previous texts had all vanished when he was attempting to text Cliff from that picnic table while trying to meet up at the park. It sure jumped out at me.
  18. Henry Lee Lucas?
  19. I think he's maybe moved on to yet another handle. My guess would be that new "scramblyn" character who posts a lot, very familiarly on the football board as if he's always been one of the guys.
  20. That’s only partially true. There are weirdos out there promoting the absurd notion that the Earth is only 6,000 years old, using their own fucked up interpretations of the geological record.
  21. Pretty, pretty good, this one.
  22. Just put the motherfucker on ignore, which is what I did after the second time he came in here, drive-by trolling. It's not like you'll miss any of his posts elsewhere on the board, as he brings absolutely nothing to the table.
  23. A whole show devoted to skewering Naziyahoo. While I think I knew most everything covered, all of it put together demonstrates what a corrupt and colossal asshole he is. He and dipshit truly are two peas in a pod, made for each other. 34 minutes
  24. You should probably start a thread comparing women's body types to various WWII aircraft, letting us know which one you find the sexiest. πŸ˜‰
  25. For those debating the exact geographic definition of the Deep South, there really isn't one. For me, one strong indicator would be whether an area voted for George Wallace in 1968, when the Dixiecrats left the Democratic Party after the passage of the Civil Rights Acts of 1964 and 1968 (see election results below). While not perfect, I think it captures some of the geographic vagaries fairly well. I will say, however, this particular indicator breaks down for South Carolina, for whatever reason. That's pretty surprising, considering they were the first to secede. Today, I'd say it still remains largely accurate, except for some of the bigger cities that decided to embrace economic and social progress during the early boom in migration from the North to the "New South," which is basically what drives the economy of what we call the "Sun Belt" nowadays: DFW, Austin, Houston, New Orleans, Nashville, Atlanta, the Research Triangle, etc.
