I dumped it for good last fall when he retweeted some antisemitic shit or was promoting an antisemitic account. I can't recall many specifics, but it was from some neo-Nazi group/individual. It was bad enough that I quit it on the spot without much reflection and determined I'd never go back. I can't understand why some people who purport to be such vocal supporters of the Jewish people in general or Israel, in particular, continue to have an account on that site. Whatever marginal value they derive from their feeds is more important, I guess.

In light of the tweet on the previous page regarding Trump having a gun at Mar-a-Lago that hasn't been released to local law enforcement, his felony conviction outside the State of Florida, and the conditions of his release, what are your thoughts on this? I realize it's not your practice area, but it seems pretty clearcut if they can locate the gun. Felony Conviction If you have been convicted of a felony as described in Section 790.23, Florida Statutes, and the felony conviction occurred within the State of Florida, your civil rights and firearm rights must be restored by the Florida Office of Executive Clemency. Felony convictions occurring in another state require restoration of civil and firearm rights by the state in which the conviction occurred. If you were convicted of a felony under federal law, you must have a presidential pardon or have been granted federal relief from disabilities. If your civil rights and firearms rights have not been restored as described above, or if you cannot provide proof of restoration of civil rights and firearms rights, you are not eligible for a Concealed Weapon or Firearm License. I'm sure whatever the Fins have cooked up for kiling Russians has got to be pretty badass. Finland handed over new classified weapons to Ukraine Finland has transferred new classified developments of its defense industry to Ukraine. Chief of Arms of the Finnish Defense Forces, Mikko Heiskanen, told STT in an interview that some of them were still under development. He also said that the feedback on these weapons was positive. “Feedback on the use of Finnish products has been positive,” said the Lieutenant General. “The experience gained in Ukraine will be useful for the development of the latest Finnish equipment,” the Lieutenant General believes. Finland has released relatively few details about the content of military assistance provided to Ukraine. The country is one of the world’s largest donors of military aid to Ukraine, and its financial assistance has been growing steadily since the start of the full-scale war. Last year, the total amount was estimated at €1.4 billion, which is twice as much as in 2022. Finland notes that supporting Ukraine is fully in line with Finland’s own interests. “In our opinion, it is very beneficial when Finnish weapons reduce Russia’s military potential in Ukraine. And we don’t need to do anything, Ukrainians will do it with their own blood,” said Mikko Heiskanen. As previously reported, Nammo Lapua’s ammunition plant in Finland will increase its output fivefold this year due to the war in Ukraine. Finland, together with its allies, plans to urgently build a TNT production plant. This is due to a critical shortage of explosives in Western countries amid the Russian-Ukrainian war.

Boris: What air defense doing? Vlad: We take home. Big, if true. ETA full tweet text: Partisan movement ATESH reports that Russian Armed Forces air defense servicemen in Crimea have been instructed to evacuate their families to military camps in the Southern Military District. This directive coincides with the relocation of air defense systems to the Bilhorod region, raising security concerns in occupied Crimea due to reduced coverage. Additionally, the Russian military is forming new mobile air defense teams using ZU-23-2s to counter UAVs, indicating a strategic shift towards this area, with a reduced focus on occupied Crimea. Google translate: The tweet was linked from https://www.reddit.com/r/ukraine/comments/1dcv0rg/russian_air_defense_systems_being_removed_from/ A few of the better comments:

CSB: There's actually a tiny little town in West Texas called Old Glory between Aspermont and Haskell. If anyone living there had any sense, they could set up some "Old Glory _____" predatory company with a P.O. Box there to make return addresses look "bonafide" for duping olds and rubes. It'd be a mint. I only know this because my dad had a great uncle, second cousin, or something who lived there back in the 1980s.. -
The worst part of that whole story is that the guy telling it probably still voted for Tuberville to be his senator.

Good question. I just came across this Wiki page where someone(s) is/are keeping track of all military aid, and it looks like (direct copy/pastes): Belgium: 30 F-16s pledged by 2028. Denmark: 9 F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter jets pledged 20 August 2023. Netherlands: 42 F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter jets pledged 20 August 2023 [To be delivered from 2024 onwards] (Some held back in the Netherlands for the training of Ukrainian pilots). Norway: F-16A/Bs [To be delivered]. I found another source that says a total of 85 will be delivered (so, 4 from Norway?). The Wiki page looks up-to-date since it also mentions the Mirage jets France announced a few days ago.

Not quite. President (Head of State): oversees all the shit, runs foreign policy, is the commander in chief, appoints ministers (cabinet) to run executive branch offices Prime Minister (Head of Government): in charge of domestic policy If the National Rally gets the largest share in next month's National Assembly elections (right now, running at 32-ish percent in the EU parliamentary elections), they'll likely have to form a coalition with other parties to get a majority, and then they get to have their Prime Minister. For consideration: Turn-out is typically lower in EU elections because the EU parliament is relatively weak in its overall governance, so only the most motivated vote. In past presidential elections (almost always goes to a second round), all the other parties typically rally against the National Rally. In the coming National Assembly election, they might not do as well (hopefully, today's outcome will motivate folks to the polls) and will have difficulty building a majority coalition (There's one other smaller, even more extreme party that just got 5 percent in the EU elections and another standard-issue traditional conservative one that got 7 percent). So, they've got at least a couple of potential coalition partners. Combined, that's hypothetically still less than a needed majority at 44%, but even that's too fucking close. My understanding, without talking to French friends, is a lot of these EU elections reflect anti-immigrant sentiment and climate change policies, so I don't really know fully how this will affect support for Ukraine. The EU collectively, I think, recently began to coordinate immigration policies more than in the past. Here are the exit polls: Far far right: Reconquête (Reconquest in English) anti-Ukraine/anti-NATO/anti-EU. Far right: Rassemblement national (National Rally) anti-Ukraine/anti-NATO/Euroskeptic to anti-EU. Right: Républicains. Not entirely sure their stance on Ukraine, but I suspect pro. Traditionally squishy on NATO but they swung more friendly 10-15 years ago. pro-EU. Centrist to center right: Renaissance (Macron's party). Pro-Ukraine/pro-NATO/pro-EU. Centrist to center left: Parti socialiste-Place publique. Pro-Ukraine/squishy to pro-NATO/pro-EU. Left to far-left: La France soumise (Insubordinate France). Not sure on Ukraine/squishy to anti-NATO/squishy sometimes on EU. Greens: Les Ecologistes. Pro-Ukraine/pro-NATO/pro-EU. Of course, France is just one out of 27 countries that voted in the EU elections. We'll see how this pans out across the continent.

Dismal news for sure, but it won't change the presidency in France like it would in the UK. The office of the president in France has a fixed five-year term. The head of the National Assembly (prime minister in France is kinda/sorta like a really beefed up House Speaker role that mostly manages domestic policy) would be from the National Rally (fka National Front, a party with fascist roots) if they manage to build a majority coalition with other parties after the snap elections. Macron will remain president regardless for the duration of his term. Still...fuck. The EU-wide election results aren't positive news for future Ukraine funding from Europe.

In actual news of the day: JERUSALEM (AP) — Benny Gantz, a centrist member of Israel’s three-man war Cabinet, announced his resignation Sunday, accusing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of mismanaging the war effort and putting his own “political survival” over the country’s security needs. ***** Gantz called for Israel to hold elections in the fall, and encouraged the third member of the war Cabinet, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, to “do the right thing” and resign from the government as well. Gallant has previously said he would resign if Israel chose to reoccupy Gaza, and encouraged the government to make plans for a Palestinian administration.

The Tories haven't done themselves any favors lately, but Corbyn not being head of Labour helps them out A LOT.
