Are you emphasizing that how you look at the end of the season is irrelevant to who should be selected for the playoffs? I dont want a team limping into the playoffs if an equal alternative is available that is on the upswing. Our loss to OSU should carry similar weight to a CCG loss. Both optional sorts of games against top ranked opponents.
It is the best win of the year, even better then our win over Aggy. But their loss at home to OU is very ugly because of how badly they played in that loss. Same with their loss to FSU. A loss to UGA that is convincing might make the committee think their win was a fluke and that they have been trending the wrong way, which they have. I dont think they are a lock yet.
We need to stop with this whole, "they were a top 25 team when we played them" business. It should be based off what they are in the CFP at the end of the season. Like Pitt obviously shouldnt be ranked. Missouri never shouldve been ranked. But look at Texas's wins. All solid top 15 CFP teams. The losses? Top 3 CFP teams on the road.
We blew out Vandy until the refs got involved. Called back a TD with massive pass interference that wouldve put us up 41-16 and then the reffing circus began.
Urban Meyer and Collin Cowherd saying we should be in. Urban Meyer said nobody will ever play a tough non conf game again because of this and of course Texas should be in, it's obvious. Cowherd said they need to get rid of ND.

We just need to be at 12 or better and the pressure campaign can continue into next week. Maybe Simpson breaks his leg in the game. Maybe Bama gets beat by 20+. There are some pathways at that point, but it all hinges on being ranked 12th or better.
Next year's team is going to fuck. I am so proud of the growth of this year's team. It was truly maddening to watch them at times early in the season, but they never quit. They fought hard all year long and couldve easily packed it in after the Kentucky OT game or when they got down big to MS State, but they didnt. They are gonna be back with a vengeance next year.
Let's not try and defend PSU as anything but a playoff paper tiger. Last year was OSU and Texas and then everyone else (UGA was up there until Beck got injured).
Decline? That's a forfeit. Now you have to pay a monetary penalty to the network, have drawn criticism from every major sports outlet in the country, and have been removed from the playoffs anyways. What's your next step?
It would be hilarious if the rankings are unveiled and Texas is ranked at #8 above OU (#9) and they put ND at #7. Just an absolute shocker nobody is expecting.
I think Bama would need to look pathetic against Georgia. Game over by halftime, loss by 20+, offense looks hapless type of game. That's probably our best shot.
[Playing Devil's advocate] But Bama beat UGA on the road and Texas didnt. And they also will have 1 more win than we do. And Texas went to OT with two teams and Bama didnt.
Klatt has them as a bubble team and says they dont look like a playoff team this last month and that they should be out but will ultimately be in because of their SOS.
Klatt has us at #12 in his CFP predictions and said that Texas has sent everyone in the media a packet stating their case as to why they should be included in the playoffs. So it's good to know they are pushing hard behind the scenes.
I want to believe, but I just dont see it. Unless the Mannings and Sark and co are absolutely stirring up a shitstorm behind the scenes to get ND out, I just dont know how it can happen.
