  1. Watched four horror or horror adjacent movies this week, and I surprisingly liked all four The Frighteners- goofy horrors aren't my favorite, but this was pretty good Prince of Darkness- I appreciate how seriously they took the background mythology and sci-fi of this. It's not from the Lovecraft universe, but it's Lovecraftian Maxxxine- I liked this one much more than I remember liking the first two in this series (X and Pearl); apparently I'm in the monitory though, and most think it's the weakest of the three. I liked a lot of stuff throughout the movie, and I thought the first third or so was excellent, but the final reveal/twist was underwhelming. Mia Goth rules. The movie has a lot of 80s to it and is saturated with nods to the classics to the point of distraction. Detention- I instantly loved this movie, even though it might not actually be good. It's some kind of mix of Scream, Donnie Darko, and a John Hughes movie. I might add this to a list of "lesser known movies I like" that I've been working on for years
  2. FPI has Toledo at #76 in the FBS, with only the following P4 teams below them, in order: NC State, Northwestern, Wake Forest, Houston, Purdue To be fair, Mississippi State and UCLA are barely ahead of them
  3. I think Purdue is in its own shit tier, and then a group of teams that might be able to hang with a mediocre P4 for a bit depending on scheduling spots, injuries, matchups, etc like Houston, MSU, NW, Vandy, NC State, Wake, Wisconsin..
  4. I have a one month sub on peacock because of the NFL, and it actually has a really good horror library

    Tell me about ou

The risk of someone swooping in and buying your QB transfer target out from under you if he's the top guy on the market shouldn't be underestimated. If it can happen to Ohio State, it can happen to almost anyone else

    Dabo and Clemson

Their toughest game left is vs Louisville, and that's a home game for them with a bye the week before, and Louisville playing seven weeks straight I think they need to win out in the regular season to get an at-large bid though (I think a loss in the title game would probably be fine if they only have one regular season loss)
  7. Looks like four of those are on Shudder, which is enough to justify a one month sub. They'll probably add more in October, I'm sure. Hopefully Terrifier 3.
  8. I wonder how long it'll take or Terrifier 3 to go to streaming/vod? I maintain a watchlist of movies, and for October I'll filter the horrors and focus on those. Here's some movies I'm hoping to watch, more or less in order of priority. Not sure which if these will be available for streaming/vod. Usually I'm able to knock out ~10 movies in October. I'm sure a couple of newer ones I haven't heard of will be added too Terrifier 3 Trap The Substance The Sadness Cloud Chime Maxxxine Color out of Space The Queen of Black Magic Strange Darling Overlord Prince of Darkness Spirits of the Dead The Devil (1972) The Frighteners Detention Koko-di Koko-da Splice The Outwaters Let's Scare Jessica to Death Footprints of the Moon
  9. Houston’s getting punked across the board
  10. Their nose was offsides on that third down. I just rewound it and double checked
  11. The problem is the pass rush not being close to getting home Edit: the combining post feature on this site is fucking annoying
  12. This should be a very interesting Texans offense vs Vikings defense matchup, especially with no Mixon
  13. Unless you have elite defensive personnel, you have to pick your poison against this offense when it has the right personnel. Lose via high success rate, or explosive plays?
  14. Typically against this offense I think you put a cap on the deep routes with numbers and see if its able to march down the field consistently and finish in the redzone. That's basically been the modern defensive across the NFL and a lot of college football in general for the last five or so years. I think there's merit in this case though in taking a more aggressive approach and making Nico prove he can consistently beat you with his arm down the the field, even if it leads to a few explosive plays; trading a few explosives for lower success rate and hopefully interceptions, with the chance that Nico melts down as we've seen many young QBs do on the road against good defenses Where this falls apart though is OU's offense. I'm not sure if they can break 20 points. Their only consistent offense has been Jackson Arnold's legs because he's sucked as a passer in the intermediate and deep, their OL has sucked in all phases, and they haven't run well. And it's not like he's anything special as a runner, and Tennessee should be significantly more athletic than anything OU has seen on defense. OU has to do some things better on offense that they haven't shown yet against poor competition
  15. Imealeava having a shitty game on the road against seemingly (we don't know for sure) good defense is in the realm of possibilities, and makes Tennessee's floor in this game lower than most are estimating. I doubt that happens though
  16. Houston has been significantly better than Indy and Chicago on a play to play basis, but they kept both teams in the game with sloppy play, dumb mistakes, and poor coaching at times
  17. Any Miyazaki fans on here? The Boy and the Heron is now streaming on Max. I thought it was very good, although the story was more difficult to follow than some of his others
  18. Both games have been preseason games, including the Texans players and coaches, the refs, and the coaches/players of the other teams. Luckily individual plays of brilliance have houston up 2-0 and somehow up two games in the division already
  19. Fucking one man rush and Tunsil is offsides
