It was a pretty good silence of the lambs spiritual sequel that turns into a blumhouse movie over the last 25 minutes. Very good movie, but not an all timer or anything for me. I think that it tries to be both movies hurts it a bit
Listened to the beginning on the Big Picture episode on the drive home from the movie, and I didn't realize Oz Perkins was Anthony Perkins' son. Looking at his movies, The Blackcoat's Daughter is a movie I usually recommend both for "alternative horrors" and "lesser known movies that I like". I thought I Am the Pretty Little Thing that Lives Under the Stairs sucked, and Gretal and Hansel looked good but wasn't good
As a side note, I try to avoid trailers at theaters (usually wait 15 or 20 minutes after the start time to walk in) but this time I sat down when they started, and every fucking trailer showed scenes from the 2nd and 3rd acts of the movies. I get that they're trying to hook people to the theaters for a struggling industry, but I hate it
