  1. He'd have Arch #1 in a mock draft. The big board is for his personal rankings.

  3. Reminder that McShay and his co-host talked up Tyler Shough during the draft process. Tyler Shough who might not even beat out Spencer Rattler. Dudes the opposite of a ball knower. He's a ball unknower.
  4. I tried McShay's show during draft season, but it's not very insightful Brugler just started a weekly podcast. Much more insightful
  5. A bunch of boomers in midtown after the sun goes down? You should wear a go-pro for our entertainment
  6. Two man is a good passing situation coverage assuming the opponent doesn’t have a QB who’s much of a running threat. It should require a difficult throw to beat it. There was a period of time in the 2010s when it was the coverage de jour in the NFL, but now over half the league has QBs who’ll gash you with their legs, so it’s more of a mix in against those QBs instead of a major
  7. They wouldn’t be using him like a traditional nickel corner
  8. He did get roasted for what would have been a TD by Tate, although Tate dropped it If you watch the all-22 of that game (it's online), Howard frequently didn't even look at Smith, and generally stared down a middle of the field option that was typically a RB, TE, or slot and got the ball out as quickly as possible, while Smith was occupying MOFO coverage outside
  9. Clemson has won a couple of national championships behind OL that weren't "national title quality." Ohio State just won one with 2/3 of their best OL out for the playoffs Most opponents will try to win on defense with sim pressures (trying to create the effect of a blitz while only bringing four), and communicating/clean trade offs will probably be the most important task for the OL this year. Your OL doesn't need to be filled with upperclassmen who're ripe to get drafted in the first round, they need to be assignment sound and communicate I suspect the scheme this year will really help them out in the run game too
  10. If Goosby is able to get healthy, there’s still a chance the OL has improved, fwiw
  11. This guy is frequently not funny, but he's had some gems over the years. The Prince Ibeh and Cam Ridley to TE thread still cracks me up
  12. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-athletic-football-show-a-show-about-the-nfl/id1528622068?i=1000722423882
  13. What does McCaffrey have to do with our RBs?
  14. No idea what we’ll ultimately run in that game, but I don’t see why going heavily with 12 wouldn’t be on the table
  15. You might have missed it while typing out an essay
  16. That's actually not a bad box score against a very good defense
  17. He’ll probably back up Wingo at X, too
  18. Possession WRs can be useful. There’s a reason that archetype sticks around in the NFL for long careers
  19. Despite all five top OL being upperclassmen, only one OSU OL made Brugler's draft eligible rankings for interior OL and OTs, and that was Onianwa who's apparently already getting demoted to RG/RT
  20. If OSU's OL isn't as good as they're hoping they'd be, at least in week one, it makes Klare not being much of a blocker a bigger deal, especially when you consider Sayin not being much of a running threat. If they want to run consistently they might have to play a second TE who's more of a blocker
  21. I'm hoping this team is set up to not need a "difference making RB", and that being merely solid and getting the yards that are blocked plus a few more here and there is enough
