  1. Mills getting passed up this year by Keenum while Stroud was out was alarming
  2. Brian Thomas Jr is probably the most common mock at #23 at this point, but it seems like if he’s WR4, and the top three are all gone by pick eight or nine, it’s unlikely that the next WR won’t be picked until #23 I’d like the pick, but I don’t think he’ll be there
  3. I'm going to go out on a limb and predict the next season's viewership won't be nearly as strong People finish murder mysteries that they start. I think a lot of people just won't start next season Also, Pizzolatto's social media activity might be more cringeworthy than Issa's

  7. One of the basketball guys I follow, Sam Vecenie who does college and nba and draft for the athletic, is an Ohio State guy and posted the candidates he'd be interested in. Texas and Ohio State are similar basketball schools, so I thought the list would be an interesting list (outside of one name) to monitor for the post 2024-2025 season when we might be looking for a coach Greg Mcdermott Lamont Paris Sean Miller Dusty May Mick Cronin Shaka Smart Niko Nedved Going into the season, I thought Jerome Tang was a potential Texas guy, but he's not having a great season

    2024 NFL DRAFT

Teams spend first round picks on IDL who profile as having the ability to get consistent pressure. Murphy fits that mold more than Sweat, who's more of an occasional pressure getter than a consistent one
  9. I think this part was his point He's not a championship level winning player as a starter
  10. Texanscap did a free agency Q&A last night. Read his feed for more tweets

    2024 NFL DRAFT

The top three guys are fine rolls of the dice in the top five, imo. None are sure things, but all three have high end upside with some production. I'm partial to Maye. I'm fading Caleb is being special, but he at the very least should be a startable QB for five years. I'd be scared of the next wave of guys though, they seem like a waste of a late first to an early third. I like Rattler as the mid round guy since he checks a few boxes, and you're not getting a clean QB prospect outside of the top of the first round. Big arm with a quick release. Not a statue. Has played a ton of games. Spent this last year learning how to play behind a terrible OL against good competition. He used to be an 80-grade shithead, but he seems to have had that beaten out of him. He at least has the upside to start.

    2024 NFL DRAFT

While McCarthy has a good arm with a quick release and is pretty athletic, he hasn't shown that he can carry an offense, and he hasn't passed enough for his game to get picked apart. He's also pretty slight. He's a faster Mark Sanchez. I don't think it's feasible due to the dead cap hit, but Harbaugh trading Herbert to draft McCarthy would be hilarious Penix is getting docked largely due to medicals. Also there are complaints that he never threw over the intermediate middle, which is required to be successful in the NFL, and his elite WRs made a lot of contested catches because he'd pull the trigger too late. Maybe these supposed issues give someone good value after the first round? Rehabilitated asshole Spencer Rattler in the middle rounds is an interesting roll of the dice for someone, imo

Fields has 15 or 20 pounds on Daniels, and Daniels is a much better passer than Fields was at this stage

    2024 NFL DRAFT

Maye might be Justin Herbert. He's worth the roll of the dice Yes, bigger but slower Kyler is the Caleb comp Daniels's body type isn't similar to Richardson's at all

    2024 NFL DRAFT

Three of the last four drafts had several QBs go in the first round, but I guess it depends on how you define "super QB heavy" Howell wasn't a first rounder at this point in the process, by the way The 2022 class was extremely weak, so people were trying to figure out how many teams would reach. This isn't the 2022 QB class.

  19. Houston drafting Brian Thomas Jr at #23 and then spending most of their other resources on defense would seem like a good plan

  23. Disagree. S2 had some issues (as noted above), but the quality across the board in every department was better than S4 S4 feels like an HBO Max show rather than a Sunday night HBO headliner in terms of quality
