Brugler with an info dump on Mays' pod
- Underwhelming offensive class in the first round. Good RB and TE, weak elsewhere. Strong defensive class. Not a top heavy class, in part because of the QB position. Good depth in the 2nd/3rd round
- The top guys like Travis Hunter, Will Johnson, Masan Graham, Burden, McMillan, aren't at the very top in a typical class. Big drop off after Burden/McMillan to WR3. He doesn't have a clear WR3 yet
- Once again, off ball backer is weak. OT thin; a lot of NFL scouts like his top two at guard better than tackle (Campbell and Banks) because they're hunting for "traits" at the position that they can then develop. Mentions that it wouldn't surprise him if Cam Williams will go over Banks because of his traits making him a more clear tackle prospect for a team. Mentions "the Minnesota guy" as another tackle to guard. Can land a stud interior guy.
- Loves the corners in this draft. Talks about how Hunter doesn't need to think out there at corner because his instincts and football IQ are so high. Teams might want him at corner because elite corners are tougher to find, but he might want to play WR since they get paid more. Wouldn't surprise him if he were the first non-QB taken. As a WR only he's a top ten prospect in this class because of his athleticism. "Why are teams throwing at him?". East Carolina guy tore his ACL and went from a top 20 lock to probably 2nd rounder
- Raves about Ashton Jeanty. In his August big board had him at #25 overall, and he's only rising up his board. Reminds him of LaDainian Tomlinson. Breaks tackles. Natural pass catcher. Long speed. Low center of gravity makes it tough to tackle him. It'll be hard to keep him out of his final top ten
- Sounds disgusted about this QB class. There's much more pure talent than the Pickett class, but can you commit to any of these guys in the top ten of a draft?
- Calls Beck "a poor man's Matt Ryan", relies on 50/50 balls too much. What's his distinguishing trait? Kind of average across the board. He's getting exposed without Bowers and McConkey cheat codes. Not a lock to go in the first. Might be QB1 for some teams, but some will have him in the 3rd/4th
- Quinn misses too much time, not a big frame, some things about his game bothers some teams. He'll have a chance to impress teams as the season goes on in big games
- Cam Ward could be this draft's riser. Too many turnover worthy plays. He's a 5th year senior but played in a running offense in high school and then a raid offense at a small school, and so he still needs a lot of reps to improve, and in the NFL teams don't have a lot of patience if you're turning the ball over. If he cuts down on the turnover worthy throws as the season goes on he could go high. Mentions that he's throwing to three WRs who'll get drafted
- Shedeur is accurate. Not very big. Arm is closer to average than good. He'll need to do well in the interview process because teams have some concerns; how will he do in a locker room full of grown men? Will Deion steer him away from teams?
- Milroe is now in the QB1 conversation. "Rocket fueled Jalen Hurts"; has better speed and a bigger arm. Best athlete on the field in a game full of NFL players. Good passer down the field, needs to get better in the intermediate. Also similar to Hurts, has good football character and is known as a tireless worker. Getting more comfortable reading defenses. Is a work in progress in some areas. Will he always be a work in progress in those areas? Stares down WRs at times. Needs to get better at some passing small details. Mays points out that Hurts still struggles in the intermediate
